Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
My favourite moment this season was watching the start of the final quarter.. Selwood pulls a free kick from viney. Viney picks up his mouth gaurd as Selwood goes to take his kick. Selwood tries to play on and slips over and gets caught by Jack. Ball goes forward and Jones kicks true. We're home. My kids are 19 and 21. First final they can remember the Dees winning. We've got some forward entry work to do but jfc we play some s**t hot footy. How do I get from Ballina to the Pondsford for next Friday?

Oh gee he's recovered. What a champion...... I'd prefer him in the team if we play them. He's just not that good.

They are the benchmark for the competition. Like a big black and yellow blanket.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final
I really thought he was gone this year but to his credit he's just kept working away. Maybe another Nev Jetta story of perseverance for JKH over the next couple of years.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final
Tough calls to be made at selection which is a nice problem to have. I think a big question over who comes in and goes out is "who performs best under intense pressure"? Can't wait for the bounce tomorrow to see how we roll.

Fantastic pic and memory @Ben E Hope there's more to come Friday night. I hope Viney rips some limbs off Selwood and we smash em

Picking through the bones of 12 years of Misery
Just bought the book last night chook. Now we've made the finals, I'm mentally sound enough to read through the disaster that has been. If we'd missed the finals again I couldn't have gone near it. Still feel guilty for what I put my kids through.

Key tactical issues v Geelong
I agree with a lot that's been said above. Lowering our eyes into 50...... Not pressing too hard and being hit on the rebound.... Straight 666 formation. I think with Viney in, Goody may play Clarrie a little more forward at times again too. A big factor will be how we start. We can't afford stage fright. I was stoked to see the whole squad went down to Casey and watched the team absolutely murder 17 AFL listed Geelong players on Saturday. No percentage on offer and they still hunted and pressed for four full quarters to beat them by 91 points. Ruthless footy. It's given me a lot more confidence the way the whole squad is in this together. Geelong will buckle if we bring this pressure to the game. I think they'll target Gawn heavily this game. The spotlight has been on him these last two weeks and I think they'll be out to physically target him and grapple with him in the ruck. There's been many games over the last two years where he's been impeded by the other ruckman when they are losing and he hardly ever gets a free. Not sure how we will counter this? I would expect Selwood to possibly try ducking and playing for frees :)

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final
The same from me guys. It's a pleasure to roll through the thread and see how the game unfolded. Thanks for the update. @Drunkn167 sounds like the best day down there mate. Great to hear the whole squad was there for that obliteration. Can't help but feel really excited for our club. Crack in hard Demons!

Favourite Current Dee
Clarry has me hitting the rewind button more than anyone else. Probably the most skillful player I have ever seen. Right now I'm lovin it when crazy horse frost gets his hands on the ball. Viney for his courage and the way he would run through a brick wall for us. Gus for the way he's come back and improved. Our next captain with Viney once Jones retires I reckon. But geez if we had 40 blokes with the resilience and never say die attitude of Sir Neville Jetta we'd be unbeatable. Every second week he seems to get poleaxed and he just goes again. Never let's a tackle slip. Has to be Nev for mine.

Sounds about right for him. How do we get rid of this numpty?

Max Gawn wins AFL Coaches Association Champion Award
Nice work. I got on the Dees early on this year at $23 for the flag. Just missed my wager for a top 4 finish but hopefully we'll both be laughing late September. Maxies gut running at the end of the game this week must have been inspirational for his team mates. He's really reaped the rewards for the work he's put in this year.

He's paying $12 for the brownlow. Just dropped a lazy twenty on. He should go close

Post Match Discussion - Round 23
I was one of the doubters regarding Goody and the mental toughness of our players after flying south to watch us lose to the Saints. Faith restored after the last few weeks. I'm proud to say that our club is playing the style of footy that makes Aussie Rules the best sporting spectacle in the world. Ruthless ferocious fast footy. Go Dees
