Not sure about that. The flack Jack took was incredible. It was relentless and everywhere. He knew it hurt his mom so it must have hurt him. To tune the whole world out like you say takes a high degree of mental fortitude for me. I think many have forgotten (not necessarily yourself) how much crap he copped. I always loved Paul Roos' comment that if he were Jack he would have moved to Hawaii by now. Boyd is another story.

I have conflicting issues about this entire event. On one hand my gut says that Bugg didnt mean to knock the guy out. It seems to have connected at the right (or wrong) moment on a young small player. He sure meant to hit him but like many he was frustrated. It was still a dog act but I dont think it warrants 6 weeks and calls for execution. He is genuinely sorry. On the other hand I think of Brayshaw and how upset I would be if he was on the other end of such a blow. It is important to look at past form of players. I just wish the punishments were more consistent and there wasn't so much trial by media.

No way condoning Buggs shocking actions but in light of his genuine remorse and contrition he pretty much got the same as Hall who didnt seem as sorry. You be the judge

Pretty sure we cant know that was premeditated. Who knows...only Bugg can say. It was a low act but no one can know what was premeditated or not. To say he cant play for Melb again is extreme. I may not like the guy for this hit but he didnt jump the fence and beat up old some lady in row 12. He is remorseful and from other hits like Hall maybe cop 8 weeks. ( A serious punishment)

It was 4 weeks of tough games too. A big Monday blockbuster, last years premiers and runners up and the icing on top a nice trip across the country. Well done AFL. Prior to our injuries we have proved this year that we can beat the best of them and even some with a few outs. I so hope we make the 8 and have a full compliment so as too smash them in Sep/OCT.

True and before that players would smoke and earn 400 bucks a game. Its different now and some of these blokes make 1 million a year so if the club says dont drink then they have the right to ban them. We cant afford banned players with all our injuries. I know they want to let off steam but so do their other team mates. Its selfish.
