  1. Haha yeah that's awesome! All great ideas, thanks heaps guys. Speaking of raffles (because we all were) there will definitely a MelbourneFC I llustrated history going up on the night, so you could score one for as little as two dollars! If any of you have anything you would like to raffle, or auction, feel free to bring it. We can keep it behind the bar or whatever so it'll be safe, and it would be a good way to shift some old things you might not want anymore, but still raise money for the club. For instance i have an old clock i no longer want, so will probably put that up Anyone have any ideas how to ask players? Any of you facebook stalkers haha
  2. Mick, i'm thinking of adding a "Melbourne FC Tax" to each drink. Each drink, you chuck 50 cents or so into the Melbourne donations jar. With that, do you think we should add it to the 150 syndicate (is that what it's called) or just give it to the club so they can do with it what they want?
  3. I read somewhere that it wasn't just that he willed himself back on, but Bailey said that at Half-time he demanded to come back on
  4. I wouldn't put it past this Australian team to do something like that. Yeah, but isn't it if, for instance, Australia lost 2 wickets off the last two balls, the D-L method would give the chase depending on those wickets lost, even if one was off the last ball and could only effect up to 6 runs. Generally i'm fine with it, but given it all becomes a game of ifs and buts, i'd prefer to see the game paused and completed the day after. Especially in this series as there is always a rest day after (i'm pretty sure) and the crowds are small anyway.
  5. Mate that is such a good story! Send that to Jimmy, he'd love it! Love hearing things like that! Great work, you're a lucky man!!
  6. I'm sure we could just order pizza or whatever. We'll organise some cake! Everybody loves cake! Far out i'm excited now!
  7. He had 4. Brock, Bate and Buckley had one each as well
  8. Alrightie, i posted a topic like this a while ago, but that was before anything was properly planned. Friday July 11, at about 7, we're organising for everyong to go to the St Kilda Bowls club to celebrate our club's 150th birthday. We decided the Thursday would be too hard, but what's one day amongst friends? There'll be a big screen tv set up showing season highlights. We'll see if we can organise some food, though i think they serve food there anyway. We'll also be taking donations that will be given to the club and we're also trying to set up a raffle (which shouldn't be too hard, i hope) All in all it should be a great night where we can all meet up and celebrate our birthday, of course with cake. I've emailed the club to see if we could get a player or two to come down, or if they could help in any other way. If you'd like to help out set up or anything like that, i'd love to hear any suggestions, PM me or just reply here, otherwise we'll just see you there! We've set up a facebook page for it here\ Again, any ideas would be welcomed, and i look forward to seeing you there!!
  9. HBT go to foxsports.com.au and you can see video highlights
  10. He's kicked 15.3. Him and Aussie combined have kicked 36.6
  11. I was very guilty of standing and jumping today. But at the same time i won't apologise for it. If someone has an issue they can just ask if you move to a seat a bit to the side. I'm not usually one for leaving the seat unless it's a close in game or rubbish umpiring, today was both. Standing on the seats in MCC singing the song when they wouldnt play it again was great fun. Go the dees!
  12. A player's potential does not make them a gun, it just makes them a player with potential. I think he's getting better and will be a good player for us, but we shouldn't dance around the hat too early
  13. How in the world are we losing so much money? I didn't think our debt was 3 million before this year, and i don't understand how we'll lose a further 2 million this year. It's good it's being addressed though
  14. Got a few calls from mum at 150, a text saying are you there now, because she thought it was the 210 start. Another mate was going to come down, but also didn't know about the 110. Messaged me after the game saying he should've come, bombers fan.
  15. I guess i mean i wish he would play 4 quarters without the lapses in concentration that occur in his game. He'll do a smart thing, then often follow it up with a poor decision
  16. I'd love to see Sylvia play four commited quarters
  17. Whelan's kicking wasn't great, but he still had 32 touches at 91% 6 Green 5 Miller 4 Johnson 3 Whelan 2 Jamar 1 Bruce Warnock i thought was very good on Brown for the most, Sylvia had a pretty good game ruined by moments of stupidity. Black had 23 touches
  18. Never have i heard our crowd cheer so loudly over something that wasn't a goal or a mark. and it was worth it. I quite literally cannot talk now, and much of my problem begain at this moment. Was an amazing chase, great pressure which we applied all day, wow!
  19. Was brilliant Karma that England lost on the last ball through a fielding error. That really as an odd decision by the English Captain. Especially i felt in his body language. When the umpire asked him, it really seemed as if he was looking at him in a "what are you talking about? as if i would even think that" kind of manner. Strange RR what's your view on the Duckworth-Lewis system? I know how it works, but find it odd the the Windies went from having to chase 214 at 4.28, to chasing 204 in 41 overs at 5 an over.

Except when they play at Aurora........... You don't read very well do you. Again, for the last time, I never said they shouldn't play it at the MCG. I'm saying it's odd to put this match on a Friday night at the MCG. For instance, why couldn't the AFL have put Hawks v Eagles at Aurora a few weeks ago and Hawks v Dogs at the G tonight. Of course, you won't read this, so i'm not sure why i'm still bothering. For your information, tonight was the first MCG Friday night game featuring any interstate team since round 10 last year, and there hasn't been one before that since 2005 (which was our Breast cancer awareness match) and before that was Port versus Collingwood in '04. For anyone keeping score that's 4 of 110 Friday night matches at the MCG featuring interstate sides in the last 5 seasons. If you still believe that this game should definitely have been a friday night game at the G, and that this type of fixture best serves the competitiong going forward then good luck to you Further to this, i find it even more odd that this game would be played on the Friday, and then the Carlton Richmond game is put on the Saturday with no Free to air coverage to celebrate the Tige's 100th year.

Indeed, no AFL team plays next Sunday. At the G, or at any AFL ground. When did i say Hawthorn shouldn't get a home MCG game? How have you gone from complaining against no one that Interstate teams deserve friday night games, to now stating claims for Hawthorn MCG games that again no one is questioning. If you aren't going to bring up any relevant or meaningful points I give up. You are giving one line answers with no insight or argument, and i'm bored of it And yes, i'm sorry i forgot round 14 is an annual Hawks v Eagles AFL fixture that must be adhered to, because this thread didn't begin as a discussion to the types of changes you would make to a fixture....... Far out

Far out, you really aren't getting it are you. If this is one of their few MCG games, why wouldn't the AFL give them Friday night exposure against another Victorian club so it could be played in front of a much bigger crowd, with a much bigger build up. Especially when this is the split round and the AFL would surely want to maximize its exposure, attendance and viewing audience

So Richmond versus Melbourne not 3 weeks ago was played at the MCG was it? Collingwood versus the Bulldogs last Sunday was played at the G too then i assume? Richmond also host the Lions at TD, the Cats home ground is Skilled but they play home games at the G, or vice versa whichever way you look at it. The Dogs home ground is the Dome yet they hosted the Lions not two weeks ago? Shall i continue? Are you saying the AFL couldn't have fixtured a home W.C. v Hawthorn game? Or a Telstra Dome Hawk v West Coast game, given it was a game that was never going to attract more then 50,000 fans

At the MCG. As i said, i find interstate teams playing at the G on a Friday night to be an odd fixture. Them not playing there has not diminshed their propensity to play Friday matches. I fail to see the relevance.
