I get a little bemused by how quickly people want some things to happen. We know what Morton is capable, and know he has 10 years to show it to us. He's had a tough few weeks, so what harm is there in dropping him? Last week we lacked a big body who could go forward and force a contest, with Jamar in it frees PJ up. We will have to make quite a few trades/delistings at the end of the year, why not find out where a lot of the middle of the road players stand? Swapping an out of form young midfielder for a big body who must be judged (possibly for the final time) at AFL level, is not such a horrible result. Good to see Bode and CJ stick around. I agree that Valenti should be getting a run, and this is possibly the game for him. If indeed he is going to Canberra i can certainly see him slipping in for a late withdrawal. But he along with Morton has a long time left, Jamar does not. Perhaps Bailey sees a matchup that Jamar can exploit... I don't know, but i also think guys like Shane have been on DB's radar all year and he isn't ignoring them.

That makes no sense. You say he's a good player, yet you don't want him. He's 24 but you'd only want him if he was 22... In 6 years you assume we'll be going for a premiership tilt (how do you figure that), and yet admit that he could help us for 2-3 years of it. How does a good player giving us 2-3 year service in the middle of a supposed premiership tilt not help the club?

Well our Birthday is approaching and we feel it should not go by without a brew, some stories and a few matches seen on the big screen. I think it would be good if we hired a venue for the night. We have a little facebook group, but really i only had this idea 20 minutes ago so it's only gaining momentum now. We could just book the venue and people could just put money into a tab or pay as they go or whatever, but i think it'd be cool to have a function of our own so Melbourne Supporters can get together and sing Happy Birthday! I think setting the membership goal for 35,000 would be a horrible idea. We set it for 30,000 this year, and therefore budgeted for that, meaning if we (and when) we do fall short of that, we lose money. Budget for 30 again next year maybe, but budgeting for 2 thousand more than your record seems a little odd to me, let alone budgeting for 7000 more. If we budget low and end up with a lot more, then it's profit and everyone's happy

This may sound like a massively stupid question, and hopefully is, but with Sunday's game, will our membership get us in? Because round one was free for members in lieu of this game, does this mean our memberships won't get us in, or will it be the first few thousand or what's the go? Simlar story as mine at the Heroes dinner. When i saw him i started saying mate you're then just said look i won't bother because you probably hear it all the time, but you really are a legend of the club and thank you so much for everything. And very sincerely looked at me and thanked me very much

He is such a legend. Genuine nice guy, and loves the supporters and the club. Sounds like a really good exchange, little things like that stay with you forever (even when the player doesn't remember!!)
