I think its obvious that Spencer is a no 1 ruck type and Gawn is the ruck / forward. Im a fan of Gawn and like what he as shown, but he has shown that up forward, not in the ruck. He would struggle in the centre bounce against McEvoy. Gawns time will come, he just needs more bulk. But for now you need to go with Spencer.

This is one of the reasons that Roos would be the must get. He will make the older players want to stay, the youngsters keen as mustard to learn. Imagine how excited Viney, Toumpas and Hogan would be to play under Roos not to mention a Trengrove, Grimes, Watts. Then new draftees wouldnt be wishing against coming to the demons. Then you have sponors who would be climbing aboard to be part of the ressurgence. It would totally change the mindset of the club. But i dont think money is it all, Im sure hes set up for life. I think the club has to sell the romance of it. Turning the oldest club from the duldrems to premiership chance in 4-5 yrs. That would lock him into legend status and give him satisfaction of saving the Melbourne Football Club. Hes still young and i reckon his family would back him in while he is not to long out of the game. Fingers Crossed.

We must take Boyd if the opportunity is there. He's the best. We have Mitch and Dawes, which helps someone like Hogan and Boyd take the 3rd and 4th defender, then you throw in Howe. Geez i wouldnt want to oppistion trying to figure out whom to stop. Also your talking the next 10yrs for Boyd as appose to Clarke and Dawes. Also thinking back we chose Watts over Nik Nat, cause we wanted a forward ? Had we needed a Ruck we would have gone Nik Nat. Geez how things change now. We swap them in a heart beat.

Couch hasnt been tried this year. Couldnt do any worse than the current crop of midfielders.

You cant doubt their efforts this year. They have been outstading in the VFL. Couch seems to be really improving alot on where he was at the start of 2012. 41 disposals is outstanding. Id like to see him have a crack in the second half of the season. I think he deserves it.

Scott West was a great footballer, Shows u dont have to be quick. If Nathan Jones keeps going over the rest of his career, we will all hold him highly.

Just watching the Gold Coast tonight you have to marvel at Ablett. Stars make AFL great. Ive had some favourties over the years, players who are just legends of the game. Ablett Snr, Lockett, Robert Harvey, Buckley, Mcleod, Aker, Goodes. But for right now, Gary Ablett Jnr is the best for mine of this era. His dad did freak things and i saw it first hand, but i reckon his son is better. Who is your best ? and also Best demon of past 20 yrs ? I spose mine would be Neitz.
