  1. I just found it interesting that not many people had him in the side.
  2. Looking at the posts of the possible line up for next year, I didnt see Dunn or Blease really being considered. Will they make it or are there days numbered ? what other players are under the pump ?
  3. Are you the only one to have Dunn ? I think its going to be a interesting year for him.
  4. Looking at the sides people putting up, my optimism is returning. Im very happy with what Roos and co have acheived already. Last year we did ok with Hogan, Toumpas, Terlich and Clisby but missed the boat the others, Burns and Rodan.
  5. Im happy hes staying. Because the next few years is when hes going to reach his potential. It would suck to see him learning the craft and growing into a man, only to switch sides and blossom elsewhere.
  6. i have no idea whom would be the best successor, with regards to coaching. Hopefully roos and co will sort that out. However as supporter watching the game all my life like everyone here on this site. I thought that someone like Brett Kirk is the standout. He was a great player, was the heart and soul of the team during the premiership at the Swans. He was one of the least skilled players. Didnt have a big Mark, or long kick, he wasnt flashy. but he had massive heart, and would drag the team with him. he would work himself into the ground. He basically fulfilled his potential and was a star. He would be a fantastic leader and no doubt coach. To think hes going to be a potential premiership assitant at Freo this year, then come and join Roos is a dream. p.s I am biasised as Kirky is local boy and I saw his journey from when he would rack up 40 positions as a kid in the Ovens and Murray. But his record stands up.
  7. Thanks for saving our club and putting us on a new direction Without him I hate to think what our future would be and we wouldnt have Roos. Very big thanks from me.
  8. The amount of responses says it all. So good to have Roos in charge. Happy Day
  9. The successor plan is a great idea, going to give us a great coach and mentor. A great successor to learn and carry on the future direction. I imagine there will be a long queue of candidates wanting to learn off Roos, be part of the growth then lead the team. I reckon this would appeal to Cameron Ling who has indicated his desire to be a coach and has mentored Jack Trengrove this year. Throw in a Brett Kirk perhaps also, whom would have to seek opportunity elsewhere to coach. Even the mention of Voss, has merits. This is a great day for the club.
  10. Now i remember why i didnt sign on this website for a number of weeks - crap spoken
  11. I did google search for slogan generator and it spat out this : New Thinking, New Melbourne.
  12. I am so glad to see the back end of this season. It was so draining. I lost interest in round 15. I hope we do get Roos, will give me some hope for next year.
  13. yes we do need it urgently. few weeks ago i said no when we beat bulldogs but reality is we are behind he GWS as there talent grows over the coming year.
  14. i wouldnt rule him wanting out. What incentive to stay. really Roos maybe
  15. Because our senor players let us down time and time again. Look at today. Viney and Clisby both 22 touches both in first years. then you have guys been in ths system a while Trengrove 15 Tapscott 11 Dunn 14 Sylvia 13 Howe 8 with stats like that what hope has the youngsters got .
  16. Lets just let him be Jesse Hogan and enjoy the ride.
  17. In his own words, his best footy is ahead and I agree with that. I dont care if hes not going to reach Judd status like many probably hoped he would be. The thing is he is a good mature footballer with his best ahead. Its good if he will stay and provide leadership to the future stars. Something we have been lacking.
  18. Will a trade rule out buddy taking another offer of similar size from another club? What if the Gold Coast make a bid for him ? Even if it was slightly less. Living on the Gold Coast, playing in a side further developed. Id choose the Gold Coast over GWS.
  19. Surely he would take the cash. Hawks would be nearly be pushing him out, how can they lose if they get no 1 pick. GWS dont need another young foward. They need experience, a star and a marketing tool.
  20. On the afl website - GREATER Western Sydney has not ruled out using the No.1 pick in this year's NAB AFL Draft to snare superstar Hawthorn free agent Lance Franklin. And who will Hawks take with no 1 - Tom Boyd. Free up the salery cap and the next big thing. It just sux. I hate em.
  21. Seems every week out team is looking stronger. I like the look of the team.
  22. Yeah well thats a guess i spose. But you would hope with development of Paul Roos, he will be the next Lewis Jetta. Prob should have had him in jurys out- seeing i havent seen him.
  23. Id rather look at it a different way. Best 22 in 2 yrs time (2015) Hogan, Jones, Watts, Toumpas, Viney, Frawley, Trengrove, Clarke, Sylvia, Dawes, Blease, Garland, McDonald, Grimes, Evans, Barry, Kent, Gawn, Howe, Davis, M Jones, Terlich, Fitzpatrick, Clisby * then you have 2 years of draftees and trades. Jurys out : Tynan, Tapscott, Jetta, Spencer, Taggert, Stark ( they want to hurry up) Not: Byrnes, McKenzie, Dunn, Rodan, Strauss, Pederson, Nicholson, Gillies, MacDonald, Sellar, Davey, Jamar, Bail, Magner, Couch.
