  1. looks a natural footballer to me and I see a lot of potential in him. thought against Port he had good awareness despite being a bit off the higher pace. looks a good footballer and was easily our most assured backman last night.
  2. hell probably beat May back
  3. agreed. his only hope is extracting through the midfield. and he is losing confidence I feel. not quick enough to play at the pointy end or the wing. well maybe 'just' be able to. he should be playing Tysons role. I think its also a glaring weakness that we have no wingers of note and he has to play there. Kolodjashnij has been very underwhelming. Hunt is lost there. and not sure we have recruited any new ones from the 2018 draft either.
  4. both are out injured. over statement ?
  5. Well yes and its inexcusable that Lewis plays for 2 years and we still haven't found a few players to 'become' that type with experience and leadership in the backline. To me its the most disappointing factor to Goodwin. we don't have blokes coming off the back of the square due to the new rules, and we cant play traiditional defensive roles all of a sudden. He's chose his line coaches and Chaplin is coaching a disorganised rabble. this is now his real test as a coach and he is failing. He has the cattle to beat Port and beat Essendon.
  6. agreed. now was the time for him as a more experienced player to take the game on, kill the ball and take some intercept marks. try and be like Astbury at Richmond. but hes bereft of confidence. unfair to bring in Petty till hes cherry ripe.
  7. totally agree. if we at least had an organised backline we would be 2-1. Midfield not the problem, forward line down especially with TMac playing injured / underdone. but the backline is a chaotic shambles. no pace, no teamwork, no system.
  8. well I actually hope that's the case here, as he looked slow and underdone.
  9. what did people think of his first game ? I was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. Thought he was an outside player ? but seemed to lack pace to me. and intensity.
  10. this resonated with me. I felt a shift but too many years of this then to finally get up off the canvass and compete with the big boys, then get hit down so quickly. well there is actually a breaking point. The new 'brand' and new psyche of this club is about to be truelly tested.
  11. Hunt epitomises our problems at present. Has no confidence no intensity at the contest all night, appears lost like the rest of our backline and showing little skill. Mill be surprised if he’s not dropped.
  12. yes I can see a future Ben Brown type player as he fills out.
  13. why don't we turn the table, play Preuss with Gawn still not 100 % and rough up Stanley who is hardly in Max's level. same with Ratugolea. They both love a nice clean run at the ball like Port so give them something to think about. The amount of time Max was bumped or pushed outside the fall of the ball was a joke. if its goes unpunished then why not give it back in spades ?
  14. like how he had O'Meara up for the final ? or how half their backline has been missing for ages ? I think the clubs with more mature players over the years give us a biased assessment of fitness staff like they are miracle workers. Wingard playing is hardly a miracle, and Scully has yet to perform at AFL level again. so we will see. same with Mitchell.
  15. yes its is harsh. I wanted to put them away, but Hawthorn took it to Richmond as well in the finals. They played better than the quality of their list and have some old warriors. they also top up all the time which helps them be competitive.
  16. yes when we were rubbish.
  17. if they play 4 debutantes that's almost game over right there. lets hope so.
  18. due back the minute AFLX finishes. lol.
  19. I think ANB would be playing Harmes role by now, but Harmes just went to such a high level, he is an automatic selection. very under valued given he shuts down a big name often as well as being constructive with the ball. With Tyson gone he will still have a chance.
  20. I thought our play in the second quarter was simply superb. and didn't kick a goal !! possible our best 'general play' quarter for the year.
  21. very positive report. hope its on the mark. I noticed Melksham was very restricted during the finals with his hamstring. he was still in such good form for us. amazing really. I think hes more important the Petracca on our forward line so hope we get him right. the other is Viney. amazes me he was in rehab due to his foot, then played finals then back to rehab. Doesn't that suggest we were rolling the dice a bit?. we need to get him right and if you ever going to rest him its now.
  22. sorry but that backline was all at sea in the preliminary final, both aerially and when we turned it over in the midfeild they strolled into goals. strolled. No way is it the envy of other teams without Lever ad May.
  23. im very interested to see what Baker can produce for us. He was tracking nicely until injury curtailed his season, getting good numbers for Casey and should be pushing for his first game this year. We need someone with pace to break through. The most mouth watering prospect is May and then Lever to join what could be an elite backline by the end of the year. and if Weids becomes consistent, we should be very strong aerially. it certainly helped the weagles.
  24. I’ve heard on the Monday after the preliminary he took too many Brownlow votes.
  25. agree ch 7 is nauseating and MMM is in turn actual vomit. they have turned placement ads into the commentary into a disgraceful artform. "good tackle by McDonald, a contender for the 'insert product' tackle of the day right there. as we look as the 'insert product' scoreboard.
