WANTED - Some experienced players
Rivers Run Red replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Going by injuryupdate.com.au Neitz and Bruce may return this week, and TJ Green and Bell are due back round 17. Bruce may miss 1 more week, and Neita is still in some doubt, therefore it doesnt look like we will be getting any experience back this week. -
It is a good idea but so do all the other 15 clubs, the irish imports will be tapped dry, and clubs will start picking up medeocre irish players with the hope of them coming good. I'd say look into it, but dont invest too much money and time...

Cameron Bruce out, Colin Garland in?
Rivers Run Red replied to Pinball Wizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
I love the way they just added that little bit at the bottom, it didnt have anything to do with the rest of the story... -
Melbourne Announcement on 150 years
Rivers Run Red replied to WonnaJurah's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed, 149 years today, so tomorrow will be the start of the 150th year. -
I go with the traditional Jonesy, but my brother and one of my mates (both non Melbourne supporters) refer to him as the Chemo Kid, there was a picture of him and Neitz in the paper earlier this year and they reckon he looked like a kid who had luekemia.

Thought this post was going to be about us passing the 28,000 mark... interesting thought 3001, but i never feel ripped off helping the club i love.

Hells Angels Press Release re Alan Didak
Rivers Run Red replied to Chelly's topic in Melbourne Demons
hahaha, Gold -
27 frees to 18 says your being biased. But then again saying that, there were umpiring decisions where i cringed going both ways.

Firstly, Bell should be in our backline in the future... And secondly I would rather have Chop at full back than throw a yougster back there and have a "Zac Dawson" like moment and shatter the confidence of that youngster.

Who Will be Melbourne's Senior Coach in 2008?
Rivers Run Red replied to Arem's topic in Melbourne Demons
The $4 is generous becuse the field for other coaches is so wide clearly. The obvious example would be Ross Lyon, no one had him on the radar for the saints last year, but he is at the helm now. Most of the time I think they give it short odds because they generally dont know what will come out of left field, i.e Drew Petrie today probably wouldn't have been on the list for most goals scored in the roos v dogs game today... -

1) 3 Melbourne players from the past ten years who you hate/hated seeing in other team colours. Woewodin, Jolly, Farmer 2) 3 current Melbourne players you would like to see in other team colours. Jamar, Ward, Pickett 3) 3 current Melbourne players you would cry if you saw in other team colours Rivers, Bruce, McLean

if I have to pick 1, leadership. True leaders take accountiblility for themselves and their team mates. Im not sure i saw much of that tonight. Lift Melbourne Lift.

Im not sure "trade" is usually the term used for coaches, but yes he does need to go.
-
Sorry, which game were you watching?

Bye Bye Daniher... Don't let the door hit your a$$ on the way out.

Agreed, but the question is not whether he would have made a difference, but whether this club is looking to move forward. Season 2007 was over before we even got our 2 wins on the board and Green was kidding himself when he said "mathematically we can still make the 8." Im willing to bet 90% of Demons supporters had already wrote off the year at that stage (as much as I wanted to believe). Robbo is a good decoy forward, and we have a lead up forward in Bate (although this was rare tonight), but we are missing the 6'4" gorilla type forward, and without the backline to stop the other team scoring I don't see how we are able to kick a good enough score to earn the 4 points. The least we can do is get half a season into Newton, and look forward, which im sure that im probably the millionth person to say that.

Im not one to leave early, needed to [censored] at 10 mins in to the last and copped a barrage on the way to the toilets, then copped a barrage on the way back to my seat, last time i sit in the middle of the Tiger army, they are a bunch of ferals.

VFL v WAFL State Game Saturday 1.10pm
Rivers Run Red replied to radio1611's topic in Melbourne Demons
The forward line is pretty much all Sandy players, Sautner, Valenti, Poyas and Crowe are 4 of the 6. Should be good to watch, and for a gold coin, you just can't get value like that.
