  1. Good to see he's back playing and hasn't gone into hiding on the advice of one of the clubs that wants to pick him up. Are there other players up there who are prospects to be drafted?
  2. Couldn't disagree more. We're over the fact that Scully's done a runer but that doesn't mean these grubs should be let off the hook.
  3. The fact that Aussie missed his appointment with the specialist in Melbourne doesn't mean he's not having his ankle looked at by someone up in the Top End or that he will be deterred from playing football. In fact, he is expected to resume his NTFL career with the Tiwi Bombers against unbeaten ladder leader Nightcliff on Saturday, 10 December @ 4pm. Of course, it's a total co-incidence that the Preseason and Rookie Draft is held just 3 days after that!
  4. Am I dreaming or is there nothing in today's press about Phat Phil and Pinocchio.
  5. The remaining picks will be taken next year - they're 16 year olds ATM.

  7. Back in the 1960s there was dance craze instigated by rock legend Chubby Checker called the Clutterbuck. It was commonly misnamed the "Hucklebuck".
  8. Both Manson and Fevola will play with Waratah at the weekend against the Tiwi Bombers.
  9. Shouldn't this information have been recorded on the no T$ no BS thread elsewhere on the site? Also, will the trend continue in the rookie draft of picking bigger bodied players or will we go for some smaller types?
  10. You blokes are getting slack. The Oracle just announced in his article on the Jack Trengove board that there are ten days to go before the rookie draft. Also, you can now get bananas for $1.99 kilo. The bottom's fallen off the banana market.
  11. Agreed. Helps me understand some of the things I've heard which were used to explain Scully's abrupt departure from the China tour. Even explains the incredible comment by Alistair Lynch in mid season on On The Couch that Demon fans should be feeling optimistic about the Scully situation. Just another part of the Great Deception. We're best off to get rid of him. On Footy Classified Grant Thomas started to make a comment about how aloof Scully was, that he had few friends at the club and even commented about the lack of Demons invited to his 20th (what a pi55 up that would have been). Garry Lyon put a stop to that very quickly. I wonder if our role in the conspiracy was influenced by our knowledge of the prognosis on Scully's knee. PS: My surname is Zapruder and I was born inside the Texas Book Depository on 22 November, 1963.
  12. They're obviously discussing the contribution of GWS recruiting superstar Phil Scully to the events of the evening. Either that or or one of them just broke wind.
  13. It's looking less and less likely that Fev will get drafted by anybody. Shame really because he certainly would have had something to offer to that mob from western Sydney.
  14. T'was interesting the comments about how if it were Collingwood or Richmond they and their fans wouldn't put up with the treatment of their club over the issue but that Melbourne has a weak, compliant board and was prepared to cop it sweet. Been happening for years and we need to do something about that mindset if we're ever going to go places.
  15. We've been labelled as a "soft" club because our players like being mollycoddled but the reality of life in this professional game is you get nowhere with that sort of treatment. As a club, we're living proof of this and the playing group is going to have to learn what it takes to be successful - the hard way.
  16. Here's the latest updated PTT List:- UPDATED FULL PERMISSION TO TRAIN LIST Adelaide James Craig (Adelaide Crows), Will Young (Adelaide Crows). Carlton Nicholas Heyne (St Kilda). 17. According to this article in the local media Wee Willie Wheeler leaves big impression, the kid's 176cm not 170. Still small but draftable.
  18. I don't see what tanking has to do with the issue of the proper compensation for Scully. Scully was a #1 pick. Two mid first round picks as compensation is a joke and now that there's a cloud over how GWS put the Scully deal(s) together, the AFL should step in to provide proper and adequate compensation and not the joke they offered in the first place.
  19. Wasn't it just a few days ago that $cully "admitted turmoil within the Melbourne camp played a role in his decision to leave the Demons"? But the turmoil happened in July/August 2011 which was long after the GWS approaches were made. Does $cully have a crystal ball?
  20. Nobody will come out to watch them play. Don't expect big crowds.
  21. No wonder the football public perceives the AFL as being corrupt in the sense that it is allowing GWS to get away with every sneaky move in the book. When these nonsensical maneuveres turn out to be failures will they change the rules and give them another leg up? I recently heard Leigh Matthews call GWS "desperate". They can't attract established players, they've bought young players for double and triple their true worth and they're not developing the framework for a true football culture. This is a club that's doomed to failure. They should have called them the Bears.
  22. Yeah thanks. And if you're Tom $cully and you're reading this you can p1zzorf.
  23. Sportingbet Australia 2012 AFL Premiership Odds - $3.50 Collingwood $4.00 Geelong $7.50 Hawthorn $10.00 Carlton $11.00 West Coast Eagles $17.00 Fremantle $21.00 St. Kilda $21.00 Essendon $26.00 Western Bulldogs $26.00 North Melbourne $34.00 Sydney Swans $41.00 Adelaide $51.00 Melbourne $67.00 Richmond $67.00 Brisbane $126.00 Port Adelaide $126.00 Gold Coast Suns $501.00 GWS Giants
  24. Yes indeed they were all there including number 31 who was heavily disguised and sat under a table all evening counting $100 bills and arranging them in neat piles.
