  3. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1968334/injury-update-trio-tracking-towards-selection Itโ€™s looking a little better but the clubโ€™s depth is certainly still being challenged. 4. So we havenโ€™t played a game and weโ€™re still 14th?
  5. My updated injury list:- Jake Bowey (foot) Tom Campbell (neck) Jai Culley (arm) Bayley Fritsch (hand) Jack Henderson (back/sacrum) Matthew Jefferson (foot) Aidan Johnson (hamstring) Luker Kentfield (knee) Shane McAdam (Achilles) Brodie Mihocek (concussion) Andy Moniz-Wakefield (knee) Jack Viney (Achilles) Kalani White (glandular fever) The ones coloured red are unlikely to play either because they won't be in line for selection, ready or available. The ones coloured blue may be selected if declared fit. Injury update | Fritsch eyes Round 1
  6. Itโ€™s just a flesh wound
  7. A real heartfelt speech by Robbieโ€™s brother Tom who had me close to tears about one of our all time great players and a wonderful human being. By the way, Tom also played at VFL level and was quite modest in not mentioning that he was also a Demon. He once kicked five goals vs Collingwood on the MCG.
  8. The injury list:- ๏ปฟJake Bowey (foot) Tom Campbell (neck) Jai Culley (arm) Jack Henderson (back/sacrum) Matthew Jefferson (foot) Aidan Johnson (hamstring) Shane McAdam (Achilles) Steven May (personal leave) Brodie Mihocek (concussion) Andy Moniz-Wakefield (knee) Jack Viney (Achilles) Kalani White (glandular fever) We can expect the following to be playing for the Casey Demons in the VFL practice match at Casey Fields on Saturday morning (11.00am):- Jed Adams * Oscar Berry Max Heath * Jake Melksham * Ricky Mentha Jr * Riley Onley * emergency for todayโ€™s game Plus -> any player who might be added if they get limited time in todayโ€™s game.
  9. Is tomorrowโ€™s training at Casey Fields open to the public?
  10. Based on the team selection for todayโ€™s Match Sim vs North Melbourne, it would appear that only two MFC listed players - Oscar Berry and Riley Onley - were available and not selected. The rest are mostly injured or managed as follows: Jake Bowey (foot) Tom Campbell (neck) Jai Culley (arm) Max Gawn (managed) Jack Henderson (back/sacrum) Aidan Johnson (hamstring) Shane McAdam (Achilles) Tom Matthews (knee) Steven May (personal leave) Jake Melksham (managed) Andy Moniz-Wakefield (knee) Harry Petty (concussion protocol) Jack Viney (Achilles) Kalani White (glandular fever)
  11. Can we believe exactly what Kane Cornes says?
  12. I wonder whether Dโ€™Angelo has the same follicular impairment as Baldi has because it would otherwise not be the same.
  13. A lengthy injury list for the time of year Pre-season update | Demons sidelined Jack Viney - Achilles / expected to return to full training in the next few weeks Max Gawn - broken finger / in a splint for three weeks Bailey Laurie - broken hand / expected back with the main group in the next couple weeks Jake Bowey - foot injury/ long-term Tom Matthews - meniscus / rehab Brody Mihocek - toe / rehab Shane McAdam - Achilles / rehab Tom Campbell - torn ligament in neck/ in a neck brace for a month Harry Sharp - hamstring/ expected to return to full training in the next few weeks. Jack Henderson - stress fracture to the sacrum / expected to return to main training at the end of February Andy Moniz-Wakefield - ACL / rehab
  14. Yeah, nah. The banter among the players, their nicknames and even their interests all add to the atmosphere at training. Itโ€™s good to read about these things and frankly, if youโ€™re not interested, you can always move on to the next post. Easy โ€ฆ peasy.
  15. Great. I know that we have a good few talls on our list but I would like to see see Tairon Ah Mu try out at Casey next year.
  16. What about Corey Ah Mu? Will they now be including the Samoan and other south seas islanders into the acadamies?
  17. Mentioned in the local Shepp News Shepparton NewsShepparton Unitedโ€™s Riley Onley selected with third pick...Onleyโ€™s AFL dreams have come true.
  18. Time to do my annual early phantom draft for next year (picks based on current placings) - 1 West Coast Eagles (Arki Butler - Vic Metro) 2 Port Adelaide* (Dougie Cochrane - SA/Port NGA) 3 Carlton* (Cody Walker - Vic Country/Carl F/S) 4 Richmond (Archie Van Dyk - SA) 5 North Melbourne (Lewis Houndsome - Vic Metro) 6 Essendon Harry Van Hattum (Vic Metro) 7 Melbourne (Jack Pickett - Vic Country) 8 St Kilda (Gabriel Patterson - SA) 9 Brisbane Lions* (Caylen Murray - Brisbane Lions Academy) 10 Western Bulldogs (Wil Malady - Vic Country) * matched bid As you can see, there are a few matched academy/father son bids and Melbourneโ€™s pick was an automatic selection based on the name only ๐Ÿ˜€ Pick 1 has a great first name but he wins the honour because heโ€™s been compared to Tracc โ€ฆ
  19. Almost twelve months out I got close with Duursma and a few of the northern academy players but I was way out with Ollie Greeves and Riley Onley. Heโ€™s still good Demon fans but the exercise shows how hard these things are to predict from a long way out.
