  1. One thing that stands out from the statistics is the fact that despite having two solid ruckmen and a number of players who we all rate as quality midfielders, we are still regularly trailing our opponents in clearance statistics. Should we look for someone who is capable of addressing this?
  2. Injury List: Round 8 Jay Lockhart (calf) β€” Test Jack Viney (toe) β€” 2 Weeks Aaron vandenBerg (quad) β€” 3 Weeks Joel Smith (knee) β€” 5 to 6 Weeks Bailey Laurie (eye socket) β€” 6 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) β€” Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) β€” Season Adam Tomlinson (knee) β€” Season
  3. Could they please award Luke Jackson with a Rising Star nomination now?
  4. And if they do, they become one of our competitors.
  5. Actually, very appropriate given that they’re getting saht upon.
  6. Injury List: Round 7 James Harmes (wrist) β€” Available Jay Lockhart (calf) β€” 1 Week Aaron vandenBerg (quad) β€” 3 Weeks Bailey Laurie (eye socket) β€” 6 to 7 Weeks Joel Smith (knee) β€” 8 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) β€” Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) β€” Season
  7. Good luck to him (except in about 4 week’s time when they play us).
  8. If there’s one thing I have learned, it is that you don’t trust these injury lists that the AFL issued, especially if they don’t bear the imprimatur of Mr Burgess. This one omits to mention the likes of Mitch Brown, Jay Lockhart and AVB who were mysteriously missing from the Casey lineup last week as well as Harry Petty as mentioned above. Given that there’s a VFL game on later today and we have yet to hear officially from the club, I’m guessing that there are one or two mystery injuries about to be revealed.
  9. They are doing VFL but aren’t limited to coverage of Casey games alone.
  10. Here’s a great story about Smith’s sacking from the perspective of player Ray Groom who later became Premier of Tasmania. Norm Smith was sensationally sacked by Melbourne 50 years ago
  11. Accuracy in front of goal would help too.
  12. Needless to say Ben Brown and Sam Weideman are now available ? but it’s bad luck to Joel Smith who is a constant visitor to the list and Bailey Laurie, a newbie. Both due to be out for a while. Injury List: Round 6 Bayley Fritsch (hand fracture) β€” Test Steven May (eye socket) β€” Test James Harmes (wrist) β€” 2 Weeks Bailey Laurie (eye socket) β€” 6 Weeks Joel Smith (knee) β€” 6 to 8 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) β€” Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) β€” Season
  13. I don’t quite get the comment about the Weed and BBB getting through the VFL unscathed and then still having their names on the injured list with β€œ1 week” and β€œ1 to 2 weeks” respectively. If that applies, surely you’re not going to play either AFL or VFL?
  14. Just turned 18 according to the Dandenong Stingrays. No: 22 Name: Mac Andrew DOB: 12/04/2003 From: Berwick FC / St Joseph’s College
  15. Given the way it’s being reported - Injury List: Round 4 Sam Weideman (leg) β€” Available Ben Brown (knee) β€” Available James Harmes (wrist) β€” 3 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) β€” Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) β€” Season
  16. Expect the Suns might be interested mid season.
  17. 6. Max Gawn 5. Jack Viney 4. Jayden Hunt 3. Angus Brayshaw 2. Kysaiah Pickett 1. Ed Langdon
  18. My understanding is that Collingwood’s salary cap situation is far from resolved and they would have to move a few pieces around to make a huge offer for Trac. Then the question is what do they offer Melbourne? Darcy Moore plus a future first rounder? From Melbourne’s viewpoint, I think the likely retirements and delistings leave us well placed to make fair and reasonable offers to retain our star players and remain active in trading.
  19. The way the game is played today with the longer quarters and with the way our team is set up at the moment, if the Cats try keepings out it will come a cropper. We almost beat them as it was last year. We would run over them if they tried it next week.
  20. Hopefully, we can get the kicking yips under control (both for the women and the men) and we’ll enjoy our wins a lot more. Having said that, it was never in doubt! ?
  21. Rod was fantastic for us that year and if only he had remained fit for the entire season? Perhaps he might have overcome the difficulties of his youth at a new club and in a more caring environment. It was also a case of one door opens because if my memory serves me well, his injury and departure from the team paved the way for the debut of Allen Jakovich.
  22. Looking much better this week even though M. Brown, J. Smith and Lockhart have nowhere to play and Jay's prognosis got somehow changed from "testicles" to "groin". Injury List: Round 3 Mitch Brown (calf) β€” Available Joel Smith (finger) β€” Available Jay Lockhart (groin) β€” Available Sam Weideman (leg) β€” 2 to 3 Weeks Ben Brown (knee) β€” 3 to 5 Weeks James Harmes (wrist) β€” 5 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) β€” Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) β€” Season
  23. Daisy Pearce (medial collateral ligament) β€” TBA
  24. Anyone know yesterday’s attendance?
  25. Just you wait. The day will come when our goal kicking clicks and we’ll have a real day out.
