  1. Thankfully, Fraser Rosman has escaped injury after going off against Werribee last Saturday with hamstring tightness. Also, Tom Sparrow who was seen in the hands of the trainers late in that game seems to have pulled up okay. Injury List: Round 18 Nathan Jones (calf) — 1 to 2 Weeks Mitch Brown (heel) — 2 to 3 Weeks Bailey Laurie (shoulder) — 3 to 4 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) — 6 to 7 Weeks Aaron Nietschke (knee) — Season Adam Tomlinson (knee) — Season
  2. Umpires for tomorrow night are Simon Meredith (21), Andre Gianfagna (27) and Jacob Mollison (32). I expect them to be completely unbiased either way but two have a Melbourne connection. Gianfagna was once on Melbourne’s rookie list and I believe there’s a family connection with the Mollisons.
  3. Yes, the list just doubled in size - Injury List: Round 17 Mitch Brown (heel) — 2 Weeks Bailey Laurie (shoulder) — 4 to 5 Weeks Nathan Jones (calf) — TBC Marty Hore (knee) — 7 to 8 Weeks Aaron Nietschke (knee) — Season Adam Tomlinson (knee) — Season
  4. There is no official market yet for this week’s game between Casey Demons and UWS Giants - at this stage the time venue have yet to be announced and the odds of the game taking place are not very good. Bad news for the players lining up for promotion to the AFL.
  5. The club’s injury report is up on the MFC site. Injuries minimal and limited to our three ACL players. 11. Poor old Marty Hore has gone from “season” to “10 to 12 weeks” and back to “season”. Mind you, if our gold standard contact tracing lives up to form, we could all be out for the season before too long. Injury List: Round 11 Christian Salem (groin) — Available Aaron vandenBerg (quad) — Available Jack Viney (toe) — 2 to 3 Weeks Joel Smith (knee) — 3 to 4 Weeks Deakyn Smith (ankle) — 4 to 5 Weeks Bailey Laurie (eye socket) — 5 to 6 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) — Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) — Season Adam Tomlinson (knee) — Season

  14. Kangaroos v Collingwood will be moved to Arden Street.
  15. Nothing was done at the club without Eddie’s imprimatur but there was a board in place and it had the responsibility of oversight. Those back ended contracts, the Grundy deal and the decision to get Beams back were all done with board approval and they will be called upon in due course to answer for that!
  16. One thing that stands out from the statistics is the fact that despite having two solid ruckmen and a number of players who we all rate as quality midfielders, we are still regularly trailing our opponents in clearance statistics. Should we look for someone who is capable of addressing this?
  17. Injury List: Round 8 Jay Lockhart (calf) — Test Jack Viney (toe) — 2 Weeks Aaron vandenBerg (quad) — 3 Weeks Joel Smith (knee) — 5 to 6 Weeks Bailey Laurie (eye socket) — 6 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) — Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) — Season Adam Tomlinson (knee) — Season
  18. Could they please award Luke Jackson with a Rising Star nomination now?
  19. And if they do, they become one of our competitors.
  20. Actually, very appropriate given that they’re getting saht upon.
  21. Injury List: Round 7 James Harmes (wrist) — Available Jay Lockhart (calf) — 1 Week Aaron vandenBerg (quad) — 3 Weeks Bailey Laurie (eye socket) — 6 to 7 Weeks Joel Smith (knee) — 8 Weeks Marty Hore (knee) — Season Aaron Nietschke (knee) — Season
  22. Good luck to him (except in about 4 week’s time when they play us).
  23. If there’s one thing I have learned, it is that you don’t trust these injury lists that the AFL issued, especially if they don’t bear the imprimatur of Mr Burgess. This one omits to mention the likes of Mitch Brown, Jay Lockhart and AVB who were mysteriously missing from the Casey lineup last week as well as Harry Petty as mentioned above. Given that there’s a VFL game on later today and we have yet to hear officially from the club, I’m guessing that there are one or two mystery injuries about to be revealed.
