How true. They got ahead of themselves and thought they were millionaires. Everyone I met this week who talked football was talking us up but I hate it because it sets us up for a fall. I trust that the hype we've been gathering in recent months is having zero effect on the playing group.

Thanks for your reports KC and Melon22. Any news on the nature of Paddy McKenna's injury?

This week's injury list is out - Smith, Garland undergo surgery Melbourne injury list: round two Sam Frost (toe) – available Colin Garland (knee) – season Max Gawn (back) – available Jay Kennedy-Harris (arm) – 1 week Mitch King (knee) – 4 weeks Michael Hibberd (Achilles) – 2 weeks Liam Hulett (hip flexor) – 2 weeks Joel Smith (shoulder) – 3-4 months Aaron vandenBerg (heel) – 6 weeks Josh Wagner (fibula) – available Whilst both Sam Frost and Josh Wagner are available and expected to play games this weekend, I think it's fair to say they are most likely to be seen in action at Casey Fields on Saturday and not the MCG on Sunday.

Here it is and not surprisingly, it differs from the one on the afl.com.au site (that is not to suggest the following is accurate):- Melbourne injury list: round one Sam Frost (toe) – test Colin Garland (knee) – season Michael Hibberd (Achilles) – 2-3 weeks Liam Hulett (hip) – 3-4 weeks Jay Kennedy-Harris (arm) – 2-3 weeks Mitch King (knee) – 5 weeks Aaron vandenBerg (heel) – 4-6 weeks Josh Wagner (fibula) – 2-3 weeks Mitch White (ankle) – 2-3 weeks
-
The AFL site has struggled for accuracy in the past with its injury lists. Here's its current attempt at Melbourne's current list - Sam Frost (toe) test Colin Garland (knee) TBC Jeff Garlett (hamstring) test Michael Hibberd (Achilles) 1-2 weeks Mitch King (knee) TBC Joel Smith (toe) test Dom Tyson (knee) available Aaron vandenBerg (foot) 4-6 weeks You can add "season" in place of TBC after Colin Garland's name.

Quarter time and the Crows leading by 4 points. Come on Pies.

Geez. 10 straight after kicking 1.11 two weeks ago. If only we could swap one of today's goals for a point kicked against GWS.

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Chelly replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
You're not suggesting the AFL would defer putting the changes into effect until after this year's draft when there are so many players who otherwise would be eligible for its $20m per annum love ❤️ child, are you? -
Definitely sons of Brian Stynes and Dermie respectively. Might be a tough gig to get young Stynes through as a father/son due to the fact that his father only played 2 games. Would he come under the international player rule?
-
No publicity about the game anywhere. Is it still on?
-
So our injury list is not as short as many would think. I suppose at this stage the club is right being conservative about injuries and the slightest niggle means you're going to be rested but there are a lot of players not getting a run in this pre season.

Does anyone know if the training schedule reverts back to the normal session times next week? -
2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Chelly replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
The AFL has ruled that its love child the GWS will keep areas of NSW such as Albury which have been traditionally AFL regions as part of their "development" areas. Another free leg up when it comes to draft time later this year. -
Seeing that we already give away two home games a year that are fairly energy sapping, do we really need another expedition to other parts - especially as far away as China to soften the team up a little more.

Tried that and got hit by a ? firewall
