  1. Obviously, there is not much interest in this topic, which surprises me given the number of players we have had suffer concussions this year. It would be helpful if there was some evidence out there from research into protective gear that was more relevant to football. I wonder what the AFL players who currently wear helmets think about it all.
  2. There has been plenty written about concussion, its short and long term effects and rules of play designed to help prevent head injuries. There hasn't been any discussion though that I am aware of about providing players with protective head gear or the compulsory use of such equipment. The AFLPA doesn't appear to be advocating it, so I am guessing that the majority of players aren't too concerned. Does the Club and or AFL fall short of its duty of care responsibilities in not requiring that head gear be worn and is it time for action to further assist in protecting the players?
  3. 80% disposal efficiency is a very good number. He is a champ. Find another topic to debate, This one is ridiculous.
  4. That was very disappointing. Saints were very very good. Just have to bounce back
  5. Watching from NSW. I think we will win a close one. Very exciting. GO DEES
  6. I agree with TPF39 but if Christian Salem and Angus Brayshaw have to be the outs then I think JT has to be one of the ins
  7. 90+% disposal efficiency average of only 3 turnovers great club man. What more would you want? We need him in the side.
  8. If the selectors deem a change is necessary, and it looks like it will be, JT not Traccs is the in form player Imv that earns the place.
  9. Going on Justin Plapp's report if anyone is going to be promoted it will be the very deserving Jack Trengove. Won't that be something to see? Petracca is still not staying with the game plan by the sound of his report. Both will be in the ones before too long but I think JT will get there first.
  10. We owe them a few and I think we have the ammo. I am confident that the team will bring the effort necessary. The hoodoo at Etihad has gone.
  11. Pies smashing the low flying mob will be enough to satisfy the pies brains trust that Buckley is OK to stay.
  12. No mention of Vince being looked at. Rance 2.
  13. So can we now accept that the dark days are gone and never talk about them again. I am so looking forward to the future of this club and don't need to be reminded of those years. Optimism, excitement, satisfaction are wonderful feelings. Bring it on.
  14. GWS by 47. Makes the Saints look much more doable. And Nick has a knee problem.
  15. Too early for this BA. Saints could be in for a hiding the way they are going and still 7 or so hours to go before we see the result of ours. Have faith.
  16. It has turned the corner and is now battling bravely uphill.
  17. If all you get out of that article is a typo or simple error you need to read it again.
  18. But it is the first time that this group has been in this position and they are a far more competent group. If they play with the same effort as the last two then they should be good enough to win. Let's all be really positive today. GO DEES
  19. Thanks for the radio info. I am interstate and listening to the live stream. Go Scorps.
  20. Is the club taking advantage of the wonderful opportunity to attract more members through women's football and particularly the publicity generated by the brilliant Daisy Pearce?
  21. I think Paul Roos said that the plan was to build a football department that would provide sustained success for the club. It would have been great to see a faster turn around but if the sort of sustained success he is talking about is the same as what is occurring at the Swans then I will remain both hopeful and patient. I will be very happy indeed if the club has a few years of sustained success towards the end of my life. It was damned good at the start of my life but very little in between. I am confident that Roos is sticking to the plan and that his solid base will endure. The game plan now looks competitive and will get better and ifs beaut to see the players enjoying themselves executing it.
  22. A few numbers of Melbourne list players are shown on the goals kicked video from that game
