  1. Ok I'll make it easy for you... [censored]-a-Doodle-doo!
  2. I think its pretty clear who I am addressing, but if you wish to deflect by resorting to digispeak.....
  3. Now, let's hear your explanation of the free against Clark
  4. Is it intentional or is it a matter of not being impartial?
  5. Sellar has performed quite well when required to ruck. Its the marks inside 50 that we need. His ability to contest and bring the ball to the ground has been good until today.
  6. Sellar did good things v Dogs, but not so good today. Martin is a loose canon, but sometimes it works (lacks the discipline that Neeld demands) I want Martin to develop his game. I am a supporter (of Martin), but Sellar does a lot of stuff that fits the game plan... However, today he had a poor game (as poor as Watts last week)
  7. You just made me feel intellectually superior to you. Thanks... now what about the debate? We can take it off the game thread if you like.
  8. Umpires have rigged games. There are some unaswered questions about 9/11 and JFK was murdered with some assistance by people in positions of power. Now which of those contentions do you want to debate? Do you understand the notion of Blind faith?
  9. I have been an umpire. I kept it simple... Don't guess, don't be over technical, and don't be caught up in a teams momentum. Oh yes, there's also that little thing about not letting the home teams supporters scare you!
  10. For those taking the moral high ground... I have seen so many instances of home crowd umpiring against no name MFC players over 50 years that to say it doesn't exist is an example of Blind Faith in the system. There have been many seasons where the MFC have been awarded significantly less free kicks than opponents. However, for me it is where you get them... and when it happens. We should keep statistics about every umpire and where the free is paid. The easiest way to corrupt an AFL game is through the umpire but we have a culture that expects us to take a loss on the chin. Watch today's free against Clark over and over and ask yourself what the umpire thought he saw. I remember some infamous turn arounds against MFC in the final Qtr that were adjudicated by an umpire that supported our opposition as a kid! I have no faith in the umpires. I have no faith in the umpires advisors... and I have no faith in the advisors of ther advisors (think Jack Trengove sling tackle!). MFC supporters need to become more analytical of where decisions happen... I challenge you to find the last game where MFC had more forward 50 frees than the opposition.
  11. Moloney should never play against Geelong. He still thinks they are all better than him!!!!!
  12. When an umpire pulls a free like that you know he is sweating on an opportunity to make a margin.... Some cricket teams are familiar with this tactic
  13. How can you dismiss the effort as "not playing well" Except for that stupidity from a person who is supposedly the best we can get to adjudicae, we would be 22 points down to a team that beat as by you know what!!!!! We have the breeze this qtr... I expect the margin to dissolve!!!
  14. What did that @@#@#@#$##@!# umpire see? That is one of the wrst decisions in the history of the game. Try telling me he isn't on the take!!!!!!
  15. There were a few games at Casey last year where Cook showed strong hands and good goal-sense from long, accurate set shots. I see him as a Jarrad Grant type who won't be a pack buster but does have some footy smarts. He is by no means a lost cause. He will surprise a few here when fully fit.
  16. I was there. So were my kids. Son (16yo) says we have no forward strategy other than bomb long to a one on two. He also says we were killed at the centre clearances. Daughter (14yo) says we suck! I say they are right, given the final score (2nd half). However, we were in the game at half-time. If I were a coach I would dismiss all of the game analysis, other than the 3rd Qtr. I would go over the third Qtr with a fine tooth comb and leave it at that (one step at a time for toddlers!). Centre clearance problem... Jamar hits it too close to himself for our set-up. Brisvegas read him better than MFC! He needs to have 3 options... 'at his feet' 'outside right' clearing pack... and 'pump it' 20M. Today he had one gear... PREDICTABLE!!!! Note: He scored 104 Supercoach points to oppositon 100. If we are not prepared to get the ball inside 50 into the hands of Watts, Green, Howe... we are STUPID!!!! They are finishers. The 'bomb it long' to a one on two option is so flawed that the players should simply ignore the coaches (every now and then). The coaching staff will soon forgive transgressions when goals ARE SCORED!!!! Umpiring followed its usual pattern for us. Marks that touched the ground... free kicks for Hollywood dives... play on for blatant run downs and incorrect disposal. IN Gysberts, Tapscott, Petterd OUT Moloney, Green, .... whoever!
  17. Apparently an AFL club has a 20yo, 196cm, 90kg bloke running around in the VFL who gave what many believe a BOG performance in round 1. It gets better! Word has it that he has already shown similar ability at the highest level on a few occasions. Boy, I would love that club to be us... Watts that?
  18. It's wonderful reading all the tributes and heart felt dedications to our Jimmy. I have been a Dee supporter throughout his journey in our magnificent city. I have met him briefly on a number of occasions. My children have a few treasured photos with him. He will always be a favourite, we MFC supporters will never let his name fade. He rests in peace... he is remembered, most of all, as a great man.
  19. I hate this competitive stuff. Why can't we just play amongst ourselves at Gosch's paddock? Anyone care to review the Daniher years?
  20. good to see Blease has kicked 2
  21. Missing... Watts, Gysberts, Morton, Grimes, Sellar?, Tapscott, Bail?,
  22. The decision to leave Davis on Hale was a mystery to me. From the first minute of the game I was puzzled as to why Sellar wasn't playing on Hale. Wasn't that why we recruited him? Didn't he play on Dawes last week? It can only be that Neeld saw it as an important part of Davis' education. I do think that Davis shows a lot, but last night those two were out of position in my opinion. I estimate that that decision cost us three goals (in spoils on Hale). We have to get some speed in the middle. I would persevere with Blease, Bail and Nicholson... in fact, in the current rotations, one of the trio has to be in the square at all times because the others are pedestrian. Blease's time has arrived IMO. Watts isn't doing well in one on one's but, JC, he is a classy finisher... Get the ball in his hands inside 40... He is so much better at this than Dunn, Martin, and Davey. Clarke and Watts should never be near to going for the same ball. For me, the Bennell experiment down back is over. We didn't have a crumming forward last night (another glaringly obvious deficiency as the players took up their positions for the first bounce). I have been a Davey fan throughout his career, love him, but the leg injury has the better of him. Bennell should be used to add ocassional bursts in the square and he should be taught to arrive, front and centre, to every Mitch Clarke contest. We will be better for the inclusion of Petterd, Tapscott Green and Grimes.
  23. Chook, you might want to check your spelling of "sauce", unless it was a devious bit of intentional stirring!
  24. I'VE GOT 5 WINS!
  25. I'm old enough to remember Northey as a player for the Tiges. He was a clever half-forward who managed to kick match winning goals against the Demons in the early sixties. He also had the ability to kick multiple goals, drifting into the action from the flank, not unlike our own Barry Vagg from the same era. The 87 finals campaign (after the 4 point defeat of the Bombers in the night premiershp) was as good as it has been in my lifetime going to the footy (although I did listen to the 64 Grand on the radio). I attended all those matches... the last round at the Western Oval was electric! We danced on the ground after finding out we'd made the finals... thousands of us! The wins against the Kangas and Swans were exilarating. We had the Hawks by the short an curlies and, but for an over officious field umpire, we would have marched triumphantly into the Grand. We did a year later, only to be squashed by the same foe. LET'S NOT FORGET THE FLOGGINGS WE OWE HAWTHORN IN THE YEARS TO COME!!! Northey does deserve life membership for lifting us out of the dung. We should never have let him go elsewhere.
