GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Essendon
That last play in the final seconds of the Qtr sums up what we are up against! "Play on, play on, play on" screams the ump and the Bomber player casually drops the ball to the turf in the tackle!!!! No further whistle for holding the ball will be entered into! I doubt the blokes who do the stats will even bother registering the tackle!!!

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
... further analysis after watching first 3 Qtrs of replay Jones was a reasonable contributor before his horror run Spargo got to several contests... yes, he lacked touch and wasn't able to capitalize on his involvements... but he did have involvements, something that Garlett doesn't have when he is having a shocker

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
I'm two minutes from 3Qtr time in the replay. Petracca just missed a snap for goal to put us ahead... I turned it off at that point because I know what happened next, but we were still in a winning position very late into the third. The point is that our efforts in the final Qtr are what really stood between a win and a loss. That is where our focus needs to be in fixing things... yes, I know we were shown up by not bringing more physicality to the game from the outset... and we didn't adjust to the PA team tactics against Max, however, this is fixable!

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
Went to the G, read this post. A few observations... Max was barely getting off the ground at centre bounces. He was waiting until the opposition launched, then getting a hand to it. It wasn't so much that he was being beaten, it was more a case of timing. Instead of meeting the ball at his highest point, he was delaying the tap, hitting the ball when it was at his standing height. He got plenty of taps but the delay meant that Oliver and Brayshaw were less effective at the quick break. Fritsch was having a blinder from half way through the first quarter until things started to go awry nearing half time. At that stage I thought he was up there with Salem as our best. Unfortunately, not as effective in second half, but far from a passenger. I thought Cory Wagner worked his way into the game and could take ANB's slot if he can continue to improve... not afraid of body contact and can run both ways. Sparrow showed signs of fitting in at this level. Seems to use the ball well. I think he holds his spot. Most everything else I noticed has been covered very well by others.

Bernie Vince Retires
Love Bernie... he is so easy to love! I agree with all the great things that Demonlanders have expressed above. I hope we can keep him at the club for some time yet. He is such a positive influence! I wish him the best, wherever life takes him from here. Thank you Bernie for all the belief you restored, for all the fun you shared and for representing our Club with distinction!

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Methinks a couple of Deemomlanders need to revisit some clips of David Neitz! Comparisons with our Tom are taking the pizz, surely!

Zak Jones
Nathan Jones was drafted to Melbourne with their first selection and the 12th overall in the 2005 national draft.[5] He made his debut against the Western Bulldogs in round 17, 2006 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and played the remaining eight games for the season, including the elimination final win against St Kilda and the semi-final loss to Fremantle. After his fourth match, he earned the round 20 Rising Star nomination for his game against the Kangaroos, where he collected 25 disposals.[5] After Melbourne were eliminated from the finals, he played for Melbourne's VFL-affiliate team, Sandringham, and played in their premiership side. Jones played 21 games during 2007 and earned a second Rising Star nomination after the round 17 loss to Port Adelaide. He finished third in the award behind Joel Selwood and Scott Pendlebury and received 17 votes out of a possible 45.[5] He was the runner-up in Melbourne's best and fairest with 190 votes, finishing behind James McDonald who received 260 votes

The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread
Baum's version of Viney's altercation with Ebert is the equivalent of a Shaun Tait wide! As soon as Viney turned and pushed out at Ebert, the latter threw an elbow to Viney's chest, Viney's first two slaps were a warning but Ebert showed signs of wanting to go on with it. He was advancing and Viney threw the third, more emphatic blow which finished things.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Mad_Melbourne, you say that Jake is a sub-average bloke... that's an indication to me that you don't know him and are not in a position to judge his character, let alone his football ability. I get the feeling that Jake will stay with Bombers, so any discussion of what he could or couldn't add to our list is purely speculative. What I do know is Jake is a respectful, hard-working and sincere bloke who does his family proud!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Can't read any more of this (insert Irish word for excrement) without offering an opinion... MFC can not get whoever is available (for so many obvious reasons I do not have to list!) Jake Melksham would be comfortable playing for Bombers if they offered more than is on the table (and they probably will) He is a better AFL player than 13 players that are on our list at the moment! If we are his second choice for a three year deal then count our blessings in a cut-throat, fire-sale period... depending n what we have to give up to secure him. THAT IS THE CRUX OF THE MATTER... What do we have to give up? Anyone who is shooting from the hip about his worth should do no more than watch his most recent game... if you have the time. I already know that Jake has the character and motivation to be a very worthwhile addition to our list. The denigration here of his ability and achievement to date is pathetic.
