WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Even if Brown wanted a little more re EFC offer @cooko, I say take the risk and postpone any list re-signing complications for another year and see how we go with an actual KPF. They'll be taking unders to keep the squad together if we're winning finals next year and members are signing up. If we miss out on BB, finish where we are now again or worse, then even a mega deal allowed by smart cap allocation will be turned down by Oliver for success elsewhere.

Isaac Smith
We could've gotten Smith and Phillips, or a player of his calibre somewhere else on the field. It wasn't either/or.
-
Isaac Smith
We were strung along all trade period by Jamie Elliot last year.

Isaac Smith
I'm not around the financials, but it does suck to now have to use that pick in the 40s. Not sure Smith's contract offer would be that big a hole for people on here to be glad of having to now trade that pick.

Josh Thomas
Maybe Jake Melksham has been transitioning into a list management role post career these past few years by hand picking players that will never take his spot?

Isaac Smith
Imagine if we only end up with Josh Jenkins and a couple of picks in the 40s this year for Preuss and the McDonalds.

Trade Targets
On the Couch talked of Richmond having 6 genuine runners in their team with Baker, Houli & Short overwhelming the Cats, who had a need for more speed from defense, but still had Clark languishing in the half time sprint and winning it. Let's not stop at Brown, Isaac Smith?, but target Phillips, another runner AND a small forward (Higgins/Lonie?) at bargain basement prices? Can we not do a StKilda w/ 4 or 5 pickups this year or are the cap pressures too high?

2020 Grand Final
I always feel empty after a GF. Not because I'm thinking one of my passions/interests is over for 6 months and there is now a void (Because I'll do something else), but because it makes me question why I even f...ing bother with it at all, watching these Richmond gooses carrying on. And then like clockwork, I'll be back again next year with that absurd hope that it could be our year.

Frost for Brown. Imagine pulling that off a year ago.- Woewodin Opens Up
Woewodin accelerated my hair loss by a few years. Own up people, who else bleached their hair that year? #22- Finals: Week 3
It was on the cards the moment Richmond lost to Brisbane. If the Tigers had of won, we'd have Bris v StK to face Port. And Geel/WCE/Coll/Rich all in their own filthy group. I don't think I'll watch the GF. Bugger it- Finals: Week 3
Life is a let down, get used to it. The underdog victory, by it's nature is a rare phenomena! I seriously thought Brisbane beating Richmond 2 weeks ago was bad news, it opened the door for a Rich v Geel GF. If Rich won the QF, we'd have a Port v Bris Prelim, and 1 of them in the GF. Back in 2015, the WCE QF win over Hawthorn was wildly celebrated as their demise, they of course came back n won the premiership. However, that WCE QF win robbed us of 2 very good prelim matchups: Freo v WCE & Haw v North. North were a great matchup for Hawthorn, and seemed to have physically matched up with them well at the time, beating them once or twice. And a Derby prelim, nothing more to be said. So beware the qualifying finals.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
We should ask for their 2021 2nd back instead of 3rd. It will be pick 19 and then it's up them to have a gamble on wherever we finish, which could be anywhere between and 7-15 realistically. Higher stakes trade.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
If years count for leadership, then he makes Melksham redundant, and we can add another zippy small forward at their feet. Should be 1 of the checkboxes on our Free Agency/Trade Week to-do list!- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Pole Position... ? https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/10/11/the-victorian-club-who-is-now-most-interested-in-ben-brown/- Finals Week 2
Its just as much about supporting a partner through a major medical operation that carries with it very real risks of complication, as it is about simply meeting your 3rd kid.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Is Mahoney really going to take a hard-line approach though, because they don't want him there and have backed themselves into a corner, which came about through contract negotiations and rebuilding, rather than anything attitude based? I see him taking more of a diplomatic win/win for both parties approach that would see him aiming to get that 23 down to something equating 15-18 to satisfy both parties, be it through pick swaps or a player. Maybe it's splitting hairs anyway. I just hope it gets done. And my above suggestion would ideally be a swap of pick 23 & 18 for 19, 40, BB and a premiership, with them gambling on us and losing.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
