It would've been an insane two groupings after hopefully a QF v Sydney win - You would've had the media anointed premiership contenders all in one group, then all of the clubs that were fancied early on in the season, that the media have all jumped off. Anyway, not to be: silver lining is a better all round finals series and probably a tougher draw to prime any team good enough to make a GF.

Why would that be preferable to a Loser of Geelong v Fremantle and winner of 5v8 Brisbane v Carlton playing us in a prelim?

Was hoping Freo would get Geelong, then Collingwood, Richmond and Sydney were all in the same grouping, after we win the QF Then we would've had most likely: Fremantle, Brisbane or Carlton in a prelim lol
