  1. I received my 2023 membership pack today, presentation is very professional, best yet by far.!!!
  2. We should be using the best umpires available in the final series, it is looking more like Rafferty’s Rules. The throws are so blatant it looks like the umps have never played footy.!!!
  3. I have just re-read through Kevin Sheean’s list of tall forwards / rucks and he has listed 27 players that fit the category which surprised me a bit. So TL / JT will have players available at each pick if that is the way they are tracking.!!
  4. The thing that I love about this Draft is that we are no longer looking for Messiahs, we now have most bases covered apart from a tall forward and a tough back-up Ruck / Forward. At pick 13 do we roll the dice and top up our midfield group or go tall as it takes longer to develop a tall forward option? At 37 same again best available or best Tall option. We currently have 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders in 2023 to bring in some quality talent to upgrade our list, But we can be very selective and perhaps a bit left field to fill the gaps. We have the luxury of having a number of elite players:- Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, May, JV, Gawn, Grundy, Langdon and Kozzie, supported by Lever, Petty, Salem, Rivers, Bowey, Hibberd, Hunter, Harmes, Sparrow, JJ, ANB, Spargo, JVR, TMac, BBB, Melksham, some of who may also become elite, Plus all the potential at Casey. MFC are in the Box seat and will be for many years if we continue to get our recruiting right.!!
  5. When they called Clayton Oliver’s name out at the draft and Roosy presented his jumper I remember thinking who the hell is Oliver. I went into overdrive and searched out every article that I could find on the kid, the fact that he had won the Morrish Medal helped ease my concern a little but still felt it was a bit of a left field choice. How grateful am I / We that JT called Clayton’s name at Pick 4. Clarry is well on the way to being Best Ever at the MFC and as Durango mentioned if Clarry can increase his goal kicking he will have ticked every box and put himself in line for all major awards and perhaps a few more Premierships as well.!!!
  6. Christian Petracca, it’s hard to find the words that sum up my feelings for Tracc I have loved every thing that he has bought to our mighty club up to this point. To have a group of such elite players at our club at the same time has already shown us all what is possible hell even injured and with a broken leg he is still better than most, and with a bit of luck and continued smart recruitment we / they are capable of so much more. Looking forward to seeing what a tough fit Christian Petracca can bring in 2023.!!!
  7. I loved Carl Ditterich and the bunch of North Melbourne players that RDB bought over with him but Steven shades them all.!!
  8. When you look back over the years we have had a lot of success with players coming in from other clubs at critical times and our current bunch are no exception.!!
  9. Very happy for Jake and Michael they provide quality depth and great leadership and support for our younger brigade.!!
  10. Steven May was huge for us again this year, he held the defence together despite a number of injuries to other key backs and apart from a major off field blunder was unbeatable on field. He is a real leader and competitor on field and I hope he can stay that way for another 2-3 years. I love the way he plays the game and he will enjoy having Grundy and a fully fit Salem out there next year so we won’t be so predictable.
  11. Great work LH they both deserve another year.!!
  12. It was great to see Jack start the year with a full tank, lots of skill, toughness and controlled aggression at the ball and man. Jack played some brilliant footy this year, he would have been disappointed with our last two games but so would the whole team. Let’s hope that he can string 26 games together at that level next year.
  13. Ha ha no dc I was born in 45 one month after the Japanese surrendered. I remember the halfpennies but I can’t remember the farthings, boy times have changed, a 5 pound note was a thing of joy a 10 pound note was a rarity.
  14. Agree 58er Gus was a bit of a revelation off the HBF, personally I would like him to play most of his footy in that position but he was also great on the wing and in the middle. He showed leadership and loyalty and he filled the gaps and did it with aplomb, looking forward to seeing where they play him in 2023.!!
  15. 1942 dc that is the year my brother was born.!
  16. Funny thing dc I was born the year after.!!
  17. A pretty good one I would imagine.❤️💙👍👌🤘🙏
  18. Wow the girls have held them to 1 goal since quarter time.!!!
  19. Big Max our mighty champion succumbed to injury and foul play through the second half of the year, I felt very sorry for him over the final 5-6 games. So happy that Brodie has come on board to provide that mature AA support for Max. Still need an extra big forward/ruck to provide depth for our two AA’s though. Can’t wait to see how these two work out for us.!!
  20. He looked super fit didn’t he.!!!
  21. Thanks LH terrific effort, can’t wait to see Kozzie sign on.👌✅
  22. Wow what’s with the negativity JVR isn’t a late pick or some kid that scraped into the draft. He is a first rounder that played at the highest level throughout his junior years he has had a full year to acclimatise and develop in his new environment surrounded by fresh premiership players, he has played in a VFL premiership in his development year. Hell I am Expecting JVR to come in and play his role in 2023 and beyond, he is 6’4- 6’5” and will be around 96kg when he starts his career and has the grit to make it. 58er wasn’t drooling he was stating some facts about JVR and including his expectations rolling forward as I am stating mine.!!!
  23. It has been neglected for a long time now.!!
