PODCAST: Practice Match vs Carlton
Thanks Andy, Binman, George On The Outer and all posters some great questions and responses, we are definitely champing at the bit to get this season going and wow 9 players under 23 possibly in the starting 23. Sad to hear that Woey is a bit banged up, still a couple of weeks before Casey start their year.!!

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Carlton
To be honest MB I watched the game pretty closely and didnβt really notice Ed Langdon until 3rd quarter, maybe because there was so much going on and both teams were using the corridor more. We also had so many players that stood out but he did provide some good linkage when we did go around his wing. It was hard to take my eyes off zmax, Salo, JV, Sparrow, Laurieβs inside work, Billings kicking, JVR and Windsor is eye catching, our backline held steady. Tomlinson did what he had to do, McKay is huge, I would love to have a player of his size and power in our fwd 50. Fullarton played a full game in the 2βs and went ok backed up by Verrall and Farris-White and Verrall came on in the last and looked comfortable at senior level as did young Brownie and the Colt. With Petty, Clayton and McAdam to come back in I am feeling a lot bullish, but time will tell.

2024 Opening Round Team
I love TMac he has been a great servant of the club and I would love to see him back in his β21 early β22 form but failing that Tomlinson has to fill the void and personally I think Adam compliments Mayzie and Lever. Time will tell WERRIDEE.

Good interview with Max at Captains day at Marvel and a nice Gallery of all the new players with their families at the formal jumper presentations at Coterie function on the MFC website today. Max is looking very business like.

2024 Preseason Training Thread
Itβs a bit unusual isnβt it, we need to be on our toes Vs Bluebaggers donβt wNt to let them think they have our measure they have recruited well over the past few years.!!

Midfield depth
A lot depends on Clayton if he is ready to roll then he Tracc and Jack will assume their roles in the middle, Sparrow rotate with Jack, Tracc and Clayton rotate through the forward line with Kozz and ANB which lets us utilise Riv, Bill and Taj in small bursts to provide fresh legs as required. I would keep Salo and McVee back where they are needed most and utilise Marty Hore in the Hibberd role, plus Spargs and Chandler need to play at their best. We also need to get games into Windsor the Kolt and maybe even Seston and Brownie for a bit of X factor. Billings will provide run and carry and McAdamβs marking kicking and class will create some havoc down forward which will be great for JVR, Fitta and eventually Harry when his toe is ok. It will all come down to whether the youngsters can play their roles, just as Riv, Sparrow and Jordon learnt to play theirs in 20β - 21β. This will be their second and third year in our system so I Expect they will manage. We can cover for Clayton short term but as we all know he is the Key.

I did say When he hits 96kg, write him off if you like Roost, but I see him in the Red & Blue long term.
