  1. anyone know if the Dee's have training at gosch's today?..
  2. seriously? I can't see it happening.. our backs are too slow and poor by foot. their pressure will kill us. Carlton & Essendon on the other hand..

  4. Doggies to maintain. Saints to beat us, but us to finish higher. Hawks & Eagles to falter. Dons to tire. Port to stay mediocre. Freo to fail. Dogs GWS Swans Crows Cats Dees Saints West Coast ----------- Hawks Dons Port Pies Freo Lions Richmond Suns North Blues
  5. gonna be a great player.. loved being at the G for his debut.
  6. love reading his column in the age. the flanagans sure can write!
  7. i believe that 'buy in' has been a work in progress.. it helped us get a few wins last year that were out of reach in years past. after last year's excellent NAB challenge games, it seemed that we got over the line against GWS due to a belief that we were a good side and deserved to beat the opposition. hopefully that attitude permeates our season this year and we demolish the saints, roos, blues and bombers (and the rest) to finally rise up to where we should be. the buy in is about to pay off.
  8. as others have said, its vital to win against bogey teams such as the roos, bombers and saints.. just not sure that the saints are a lock, as they are pretty close to us in my opinion. a tricky, fast side. we have to remember that most other teams will improve their lists in the off-season and the saints are no exception. i would think we will lock in sides like the roos, bombers, port, carlton, etc.. the only sides that i think we may still struggle with are the giants, swans, dogs. reckon we might have the hawks measure now (but def not a lock against them yet). i expect a top 8 finish and would love a finals win. this will improve how the rest of the comp (and opposition players) view us. further highlighting the mfc as a destination club.
  9. haha, love it. i had also planned on a full day of gorging on trade radio, etc, but nothing seems to be happening until 3. lame. last year's coverage was pretty good. fingers crossed the recruiting team pull a few outta left field and a few good players fall to us.
  10. hey bin, brayshaw is personally my favourite player, but in 2016 (for whatever reason, concussion, niggling injury or time out of the game) he struggled. he was slow. between the ears and across the grass. i hope he turns it around. but he never got out of second gear last season and i have a feeling it might continue.. i hope i'm wrong! also, petracca went 2.
  11. expecting a big season from lewis. no slump for hunt. lumumba & trengove on the outer. AVB slump to end (back to first year form). brayshaw to continue to struggle with speed of the game. hogan to dominate. top 8 finish. a win against the saints, hawks and 2 against the roos. a minor injury to gawn. two finals wins.
  12. geez, that's a strong team.. reckon melksham will be thereabouts too, but i'd agree with that. also, i wasn't impressed with o-mac until around mid season. we need to get games into him for sure.
  13. right now, of course pedo is a better player than weideman. by rd 1 2017 though.. who knows? i'm pretty sure he'll be gaining ground on pedo pretty consistently over the next 6 mths or so. love both players though. pedo has been a great servant. weideman is the future and the game he played against the hawks was great to see live. he was involved in heaps, considering he didn't have much time on the ground.
  14. i notice that the hawks no. 3 got a pretty good look at this freakish incident too. haha.
  15. as exciting as the past few days have been, i'm pretty relieved that it no longer looks as though we're into rockliff (if we ever were).. i'd be stoked with hibberd, lewis and our current second rounder (pick 29).
  16. what does this mean? apart from helping them get o'meara, does that mean lewis is more likely to leave? or not related?..
  17. Mitchell says Hodgey texted him saying "Did you just get traded for pick 88?" #TradeSENtral WOWWWW.
  18. ANB'could' develop yes. just as hulett 'could' develop.. ANB is a player with currency. that acknowledges that he is either talented or has potential. personally, i see him as having a bit of talent and lots of potential. he could definitely be replaced by a good choice in the second round (this year or next) though. why do you consider him so important too us long term? i suggest that you might be looking through red & blue tinted glasses. if we offered him up to any other club they'd see him as steak knives, not a potential star. i guess we shall soon see if the club values him as highly as you do. i wonder if he'll be with us in 2018? btw, i'd like to remind you that i'm not anti-ANB, it's just that i can only see his potential. he doesn't possess any particular elite trait. he'll be a good depth player and maybe slide into best 22 somewhere in next year or two, but he's no game-changer.
  19. i agree that he mightn't have been ideal for us, but he came second in their B & F? he can't have been that inconsistent..
  20. interesting, but with a grain of salt. birchall would be good. he'd provide deadly delivery to hoges. out of all today's rumours: jordan lewis, ollie wines and grant birchall, i wonder who it is the dees are actually into? all at different stages of their careers. something is on the cards with the delay on the hibberd deal and it could be either of these 3, or none at all that are in contention. lol. at least we're not penning all of our hopes on some poor 18 yr old kid anymore!
  21. yep, i know that. it was more of a response to old mate's suggestion for next year.. as we know, contracts don't really mean too much these days. i wouldn't hold my breath on heeney, but ya know.
  22. was this the carlton game? i thought he ran through the midfield? he played rubbish that day in the wet.. i hold hope for him, but he's definitely a player that we shouldn't feel is off limits trade-wise.
  23. heeney has the potential to be THE player of the comp. i am not sure that two first rounders would do it?.. maybe two and then an established quality player on top. they will build their club around him. absolutely LOVE to have have him at the dees though.. i would almost contemplate any scenario player-trade wise to get it done. with the only exceptions being hogan, gawn, viney & either petracca or oliver being off-limits.
  24. one of my faves now. love what he gives us. that speed! also the pressure he applies in defence is really underestimated..
  25. fave player of 2015 for me. hard to see him struggle this year, but am sure he'll bounce pack and be a valuable regular that other sides fear.
