But... but... Josh Kelly will win a brownlow. Apparently.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD

I wouldn't be basing any assumptions on a question like this. One of the 4 key elements the recruitment dept have looked for is the ability to listen and take on board feedback. Not hard to imagine them saying this with the idea of challenging how he sees himself as a player, and whether he is willing to listen to those that should know better, or if he steadfastly insists that he will be a forward in spite of their experience. -

Just like we "overpaid" slightly for Melksham last year, we may end up "underpaying" slightly for Hibberd this year (although not in my opinion). And in spite of all that, you have to look at the net result at the end of the trade period, these days more than ever. "Overpaying" for Melksham was largely irrelevant when we (the supporters) realised we would have moved that pick anyway to achieve the fantastic result we did, of getting 2 top 10 picks to select Weideman and Oliver.. -
OUT: Weideman, Kent, Stretch, Neal-Bullen. IN: Pedersen, Kennedy, Salem, Trengove.

I think the onus was upon the players collectively to make that decision and move, and they failed to make it... On reflection, they will be aware of the error of their ways and will likely make the correct decision next time. How else will they learn to make the moves themselves, if not by being empowered to do so? It's how the Hawthorns and Geelongs have maintained their longterm dominance. They don't wait for the coach to make the move - Burgoyne goes into the centre square, or Bartel moves to play loose in the backline when they sense it is needed. -
Any chance Tomlinson could be used as a mobile backup ruckman? Doesn't seem to be an effective KPP, but covers a fair bit of ground.
-
Re-watch the match. Typical for him, too.
-
He got dropped, so I'd assume the coaching dept agree with me.
-
But... Cloke had salary incentives within his contract that kicked in if he was to play a certain amount of games this season, and I have heard his barely playing has saved them hundreds of thousands.
-
Nah, no way. I'm consistently surprised how much Salem is underrated.
-
Any money they ask for Salem, having been a bombers supporter growing up. No chance we even entertain that.
-
Wants to leave, officially nominated us, I'm told. what price?
-
How many players do we still have on the list from that time? Without checking, I'd say not many have been at MFC for longer than 3 years!
-
Yes, but not all players get dropped for the same reasoning. I'd say Pedersen's form was better than Harmes, but he wasn't playing the right way. Harmes just didn't have a great game, and I'd say his replacement will play in the right way. I'd say the vast majority play the game the way Roos/Goodwin want it to be played, and those that don't will be gone soon enough.
-
Pedersen was dropped for selfish acts and pulling out of contests. My personal view only, after tearing my hair out multiple times over his efforts last week. He adds value to the side, but I don't think he'll be around a lot longer because he doesn't play the "right way."

Oh, right. Makes sense. I was thinking Christian Salem, but it didn't seem correct. -

Who would that be? -
I'd have thought Dunn was the one you let go, because he's much less mobile in my opinion.
-
Hahhahaha yes, yes he does! Wow. Busy day. I need a beer.
-
Even if he was half-decent, we don't need his type at all really. Petracca, Watts, Hulett, VDB, potentially Harmes -- all jostling for the same spots. Even Joel Smith & Maynard long term. Just not even worth using up a list spot.
-
Would the Suns want him? He may have been an early pick, but he definitely hasn't come on (like I expected him to...) Also, I'd think Sam Mayes is a very similar type.
-
Surely if he's that good, pick would be too late to take him, no?
-
Did he? Don't remember him posting that.
-
Not the be all and end all. Work ethic, character, resilience and teachability are the keys.
-
Not in the last 2 years I haven't, but then again not has anyone else...
