What? Explain what's so negative about what I just said.. I made the supermodel reference purely because I thought she was Melbourne based and that she would be tied up with all the fashion model shoots that is popular within the Melbourne lifestyle. Melbourne is the heart of all this stuff. My reasoning would be perhaps that I would be hoping she wouldn't want to leave Melbourne due to her work commitments which is being a model as I stated.

You're becoming my new favourite poster with all this inside info of late.. Keep it up. The Rivers one certainly catches me by surprise considering how settled he is in Melbourne with his supermodel Melbourne based girlfriend. Very big off season coming up for the dees.

Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
You'll get unhappy players in every club regardless how successful they are. That can come down to team selection and probably a number of other factors as well.

Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
Don't think we'll ever see him back to his best again to be honest. There'll be a lot of psychological hurdles that will really take time to get over and then the physical aspect of being hesitant of getting another knock in that area. Just another note and not wanting to start any controversy, but I bumped into a current players folks at the local footy two weeks ago and we discussed the current state of the club etc. We got on the topic of Petracca and they stated that apparently there is still tensions between the Petracca camp and the footy club. Christian isn't overly happy still but they put that down to him just being so isolated from the footy club environment and his mates. But clearly there is still some underlying issues there that need to be amended from both parties. Also confirmed that there are a number of players certainly not happy within the club and that's senior players included. This is based around number of factors including team selections, current game plan and obviously the aspect of now missing out on finals as examples. I personally wouldn't be surprised if we have another off season where a top line Melbourne player attempts to seek a fresh start elsewhere similar to Petty last year.

Langford is a beauty. Bigger bodied mid too at around the 191cm mark. The type of player that would be a round 1 starter without hesitation.

He would have been perfect maybe 2021/2022 but for the now and the future, no thanks. Give me a Sid Draper or a Sam Lalor who are going to be bona fide midfield stars for the next 10-12 years.

Cal Twomey said that he thinks he'll be playing at Melbourne next year and it will take our pick 7 and next years first as a starting point. I'll be absolutely mortified with the club if we part with pick 7 for a 28 year old half back flanker and next years first.

Trade Targets
That wasn't your original point. Both Mason Cox and Darcy Cameron are bigger lumps then Peter Wright and still got the job done in the grand final. You don't need to be quick or nimble to do what they were able to do. How you can say that Mason Cox is a better player and more efficient up forward then Peter Wright is laughable.. the stats say otherwise.

Trade Targets
So Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox who were Collingwoods main ruck/forward combination last year in their premiership year, are regarded as more athletic and quicker then Peter Wright? Interesting.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
His first year of playing AFL footy which was 2023 just to make it clear enough.
- Game plans, tactics and all that jazz

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Has played 16 games this year and has kicked 29.19 If you want to include last year, he's played a total of 36 VFL games and has kicked 52 goals in the two years he's played VFL.

Goodwin is the MAN!
Fingers crossed this doesn't happen this off season.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Yep agree. JVR has been on record saying that those AFL games in his first year gave him the insight into how hard he needed to work in the off season in terms of his strengths and fitness. Pretty much said that getting a feel for senior bodies is what set him up for a strong pre season in terms of knowing here he had to get to compete against the bigger bodies.

His AFL and WAFL bio has him listed at 200cm. Trusting a wiki site is like like trusting a drug dealer managing your life savings.

Goodwin is the MAN!
First I have heard of this..? Is there information or facts to back this up? I know there for a few off season surgeries, but having only 2 players complete pre season is a bit far fetched to me... Have to be corrected if you've got information that states this.

Dusty Retires Immediately-ish?
One of the greats and a privilege to have witness during this era. His performance in finals and especially grand finals was ridiculous.

2024 List and Contract Details
Be interesting to see what they do with Jake Melksham at the end of the year. You could mount a case to keep him on as depth and experience body, but then may decide to move him on to clear up some list space on our rookie list. Very interesting few weeks coming up. I believe he is wanting to go on for another year.

Dees 2001-2024 = West Coast (2005-2008)
You really clutching at some straws here.. First of all, the Brayshaw one I get, unexpected retirement which obviously shakes the place up and comes at a time where from a list management perspective, you simply don't get the chance to fill the void. Smith isn't a big loss at all, he'll most likely be delisted this year and someone that continued to struggle with injuries.. makes sense in a way with his complete lack of professionalism. On Petracca, we still had a fully fit trac against the likes of West Coast and Fremantle and it made zero difference to us getting thumped. On the injuries front this year alone, Gawns missed 2 games this year, May had only missed one game prior to this rib injury on the weekend and Lever had missed 4. These are absolutely not long term injuries. This whole injuries excuse is getting tiresome. Brisbane lost Kiddy Coleman to an ACL at the start of the year and someone who was probably a Norm Smith winner had Brisbane gotten up in last year's grand final. Incredibly important across half back who just sets them up beautifully with his precise foot skills. They also lost Lincoln McCarthy to another ACL this year who is one of their hard working half forwards that's similar to ANB in terms of importance to the team. They've had their second best key defender in Jack Payne miss 7 games this year to injuries and then Will Ashcroft has missed half a year to a knee injury and looks like he hasn't missed a beat. What have they done? Made zero excuses and just got on with it. They've found soldiers to help fill the void and have even had to rely on 1st and 2nd year players as well. We haven't even been hit hard with injuries at all this year. Petracca is probably the only best 22 player that is out with a long term injury as it stands. We have zero depth because we failed to address and fill that void. That's absolutely on the whole coaching staff and recruitment team. That should not be an excuse when they clearly refused to address this in the off season especially around the ruck situation.
