Houston is not in the same calibre of talent of what Cameron was when he was traded, not even remotely close. Cameron had already achieved far great then what Houstan as and Cameron is a key forward so of course clubs are going to pay premium for them instead of a half back flanker. Who's knows if they'll dangle Oliver. But based on his current contract, no club will take that on board.

I know it's noise but to give up two first round draft picks for Houston would completely set us back years in terms of a mini rebuild. I like Houston but he's not what we need now. He'll be 28 next year and we're potentially giving away two elite talent that could have 10 year careers with the dees. With Tim Lamb on board I can't be surprised anymore if we did offer up two first round draft picks.
  3. In: Jefferson Out: May Daniel Turner to take May's spot. Howes, Tholstrup, AMW, Woewodin to play out the rest of the year alongside Jefferson. If they can also sneak Kynan Brown for a full game or two I think that would be good for his confidence going into the pre season.

Oh dear. We're still loading when finals has been shot and players are banged up. There's excuses and then there's this. I've heard it all now @middleagedemon

Not sure if serious or not..? He had the Norm Smith wrapped up in 2021 when he kicked his 3rd goal to put them up 19 points. He single handedly carried that team on the night until we went on our run. His last final which was an elimination final in 2022 he had 30 disposals and 2 goals. Go watch the doggies 2016 finals series and he was one of their best rated players during their finals run. He performs in big games and it shows.
  7. Yeah bit like Windsor this year huh..

Simply no comparison at all. Watching Bont on Friday night and then for this year it's ridiculous how good this guy is.
  9. Because some clubs actually like to back their medical team and think they can turn the injury prone player around in a whole new environment. Happens all the time, we did it with Harley Bennell and Brisbane did it with Joe Daniher and Lincoln McCarthy. Heaps more examples of this everywhere. If you think Salem is worth more then a 3rd round based off evidence of the past 3 years then you're in for a reality check. No club is coughing up more then a 3rd rounder for a guy who's going to be 30 next year with a crook body. C'mon, that's not how the landscape works.
  10. He was also out of contract. JJ like all players who come out of contract get to dictate where they go, not the club. JJ went to Sydney purely because he thought that was the best fit for him moving forward. I personally have zero issues with that. JJ's family are also family friends of the Longmire crew here in Corowa, so that was another factor as well.

Exactly.. And of course a nuffy supporter is going to say every single player loves the coach. She'll hear what she wants to hear and certainly wont get the full truth in how it all works behind the scenes. This whole narrative that every single player loves the coach is so far wrong. You ask any AFL player going around and everyone of them will say that there are players in every club that either won't like the coach or have grown stale because they've been there too long sprouting the same [censored] each and every time. You then get your ones where they can be quiet disgruntled especially when it comes to team selection etc. You think Tommy Fullarton is loving Simon Goodwin after copping it the other week? You think guys like Bailey Laurie and Adam Tomlinson are loving Goody of late every time they are brought into the side and then dropped the following week?? [censored] laughable to think that there aren’t current players that have lost faith and trust in Goodwin as we speak. Happens at every single club.
  12. I was scared pre game against the doggies. On Saturday, I'm literally going to pretend that I forgot the footy was on and just miss out on watching.
  13. Because our supporters are the most sensitive bunch going around and easily triggered when journo's write stuff to generate likes..

You do know Goodys time will eventually come and yes we'll have to look for a coach. So the talk isn't exactly crazy as you think. Like most have said, he won't be sacked at all anytime soon. You've named Simpson even though I just said that are untried assistant coaches out there like an Adam Kingsley or a Craig McRea who could come in a rejuvenate a playing list exactly like these guys have. Our game has been contest and defence which since 2021 has not gotten us anyway. Forget too 4 finishes. You mean absolutely nothing if you're literally not winning at September and then about to miss finals purely because we've been heavily focused on this whole contest defence where Goody has not shown to actually find the balance. The game has completely changed since 2021. It is more of an attacking style that teams are running with that focuses on being able to drive offence first but also defend hard when need to. Look at teams like GWS, Freo, Hawthorn and now the doggies and then Collingwood last year. This is the new game style where quick ball movement is crucial in being able to piece through a defensive back 6 by attacking in waves. We absolutely have the list built for this, unfortunately our coaching department are too stubborn to change and now it's cost us 3 years in a row.

You think Collingwood and GWS supporters were asking the exact same thing when they got rid of Buckly and Leon Cameron? You're making out as if there isn't anyone out there that would actually come in and potentially just give the list a rejuvenation with a whole new game plan that would suit the strengths of our playing list and new coaching structure in place. How do you know there's not another Adam Kingsley, Sam Mitchell or Craig McRea out there? I'm in the camp that Goodwin won't be getting sacked, but it's silly to think there aren't options out there that could potentially make use of the list we currently have.
  16. Because the blokes body is made of paper and struggles to play a full season out. He's no use to the team if half of it is spent in rehab with all these soft tissue injuries. He's going to be 30 next year, you're not going to get much more from him with his ongoing soft tissue injuries
  17. It's so hard to tell to be honest mate. From everything I have read and certainly speaking to development officers from more the metro areas, Tairon Ah-Mu could every bit be a a top 20 prospect especially with what he's done so far at Coates League level but also school footy as well. For an under-age prospect he's dominated both levels which is an impressive feat in itself. He's a tall forward prospect who can pinch hit in the ruck. In one of the school footy games he played this year he played more ruck and yet still found a way to kick 4 goals and completely dominate on the day. We do need to temper expectations though. We've seen so many times with kids that are physically bigger then most kids at junior level struggle at AFL level. I think of James Sellar for instance and I'm sure there are many more players similar. Kalani White I'm not too sure to be honest. I know he dominated all his junior footy back in QLD and I watched his under 15's game when they played at Lavington here for QLD and he was playing as a ruck who rested up forward. He was obviously raw but he had the athletic traits like the old man. He's been playing down back but I preferred him as a ruckman/forward who's similar to Sam Darcy with his marking and athletic ability.
  18. I still think we offer Tmac a one year deal. He like all oir seniors players are mentally cooked from the year and its disappointing that they've raised the white flag. But with Tomlinson moving on at the end of year and May being 1 year older I'd keep McDonald purely for depth next year. Petty and Turner gace to be regulars by next year down in defence.
  19. 3rd rounder.
  20. Mids mids and more mids should be the key focus for this year's draft. We've got Kalani White and Tairon Ah-Mu in next year's draft who are both key position players which will help with our developing forwards and backs tall stocks.
  21. Someone like a North or even Richmond with the Yze connection who are just about to be gutted of experienced players.
  22. He averages around 3-4 kicks a game. 2 of them are probably inside 50's max. We're no where near missing him as you think we are. If we can get a talented small forward to team up with kozzie through the draft/trade period to team then we'll be fine in that department. Maybe Mentha could be that player potentially.
  23. I'd be be putting Salem up for trade at the end of the year.
  24. It's no different to when Trac was playing against the Eagles and Freo and yet we still got smashed in the midfield. Doubt he would have made much of a difference last night.
  25. Defence wins premierships and we've seen so many coaches harp on about this. We were the number rated the 1 defensive team in the whole competition back in 2021 as were Collingwood last year who were top 2. With all due respect to Brayshaw, he's no where near the calibre of talent to Dusty and Petracca.
