  1. [censored] hell our skills are absolutely deplorable! Rivers, Oliver, Sparrow can absolutely get in the bin in this department.
  2. As a tall key forward, physical development is absolutely necessary in today's game. Imagine when Jefferson comes up against Sam Taylor, Harris Andrews and Jacob Weitering, he'd get physical monstered. A winger or outside player in Windsor case can get away with a smaller frame because they're not smack bang right in the middle of the contested work so obviously they're not copping the big hits and one on one duels like key forward/defenders do. Jefferson is still a long way off it from a physical sense. Talent us there but.
  3. Yeah he's surprised me how good he's been. Ideally I'd rather JVR fully focus on being a forward but he's a competitive kid who's really competing well as an undersized 2nd ruckman. Cam Pederson like.
  4. Not sure entirely it was desperate times. You're never going to get a like for like for Jackson. Literally just needed a back up ruck that can be physically competitive when needed. Fullarton is more a 200cm forward flanker.
  5. Said it a while back, Fullarton is pretty much another Schache clone but probably hates physical contact even more. The recruitment never made sense from the very start. Go read all the Brisbane fans comments on bigfooty when he left and they were celebrating his departure. Can't believe we signed him to a 2 year deal.
  6. Kid is going to be a superstar...
  7. He's much better depth thrn Schache. Even when he's played at AFL level this year he's hit the scoreboard still atleast.
  8. Honestly have no idea why we need to take 3 emergencies away all the time.
  9. Love this selection. Big strong aggressive key forward who's already played senior WAFL for two years now. You need those big aggressive key forward to make it in today's competition. It's why JVR is doing well and I think having another young key forward who is willing to crash packs and takes strong contested marks will only hold him in good stead. The recruiting is also a wise decision. It's a transition type recruitment. Guys like Schache and Brown will be gone at the end of the year so makes absolute sense we are bring in a developing tall early on to gain some valuable experience in an AFL environment so that by pre season day 1 he's already adapted to the full time training and professionalism. This also means that with the improvement of Jefferson, going into next year with JVR, Kenterfield, Fullarton and Petty has us well stocked for key forwards. Our targeting and recruitment through the draft will then turn to adding elite midsfielders to add further depth.
  10. I hope the poor kid and his family aren't searching the MFC website for a write up. 10:30pm and still nothing on the kid. Pretty poor.
  11. You'd be delusional to think that our midfield doesn't need topping up. It's still absolutely an issue and will need to be addressed over the off season. A win again a bottom 4 side only puts a band-aid over the cracks for now. Ps, I actually like this selection a fair bit.
  12. Big talk aggressive key forward who was certainly unlucky not to get picked up last year. Vice like hands who isn't afraid to crash packs and has certainly shown that at WAFL senior level. Love this pick.
  13. I hear Collingwood are also quiet keen on him and they have a pick before us.
  14. Reminds me of when I first watched Jesse Hogan's junior highlights.
  15. How is he not in All Australian discussions?
  16. I like this a lot.
  17. We are also interested in Saad El-Hawli from the Northen Bullants.
  18. AFL Mid-Season Draft: Top picks and draft bolters
  19. I'm with @DeeSpencer on this, I love the fact that he attacks it hard in the air. For a guy his size he isn't afraid to crash packs and then apply defensive pressure. It'll click for him and when it does he'll be a weapon.
  20. Yeah I've had a brain snap there. Meant Stafford sorry.
  21. Unlike others, I haven't written him off. Some guys develope at a different rate to other. I learnt a big lesson after stating on here when I watched Judd McVee at Casey that he would be the first to be delisted and will end up playing country footy back in WA the following year (2023). I honestly thought he wasn't much chop at all but how wrong have I been proven.. I look like a pelican after those comments. It's a lesson just to not write them off completely and to be patient with their development at VFL level. I still think he's still fair bit off AFL level but if he can continue to put in 3-4 goal performances like this on a consistent level then why not hey..? He's certainly on the right track in my opinion.
  22. So what's AMW situation? Would be great to know what's holding him back from making his debut? Just looking through his stats the last few weeks and they look mighty impressive.
  23. For those knocking McAdam, whilst he had a quiet one, he still laid 6 tackles as a forward which would still please Goodwin and Chaplin. Had an almost type game today. It'll come to him, still trying to learn a new system and especially one where we aren't great with forward delivery. I reckon we'll see him break out come Kings birthday weekend against Collingwood.
  24. Isn't he like in his 30's?
