WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

Just a gentle reminder..... -
Anyone know how Kyle Dunkley is travelling? Noticed him a fair bit in Marc McGowan highlights that he posted. Looked clean.
-
It's looking like they are trying to turn Harmes I to the Jack Crisp type player off the the half back with some run and dash. My issue is Harmes is also one of our best lock down midfielders. Harmes turning into a tagger in 2018 was one of the big reasons we played finals. He shut down some big names that really benefited the team heading into the back end of that year. I personally don't agree with him down back. But I am also not the coach.

Liam Jurrah like.. -
I think they both play round 2. Hibbered will eventually get phased out. Based on his round 1 form, Jetta would need to show a lot more to keep his place in the side. We all love him, but he was ordinary. His direct opponent in Liam Ryan had 5 marks 14 disposal and kicked 3.3 The likes of Lockhart, Smith and Rivers will continue to put huge amount of pressure on the likes of Hibbered and Jetta.

What is wrong with ANB competitiveness and hardness? Mock all you want about his horrid decision making, but no way does he take a backward step. Goodwin loves because of his competitiveness and toughness. Billy Stretch was pretty much a free pick. Costs us absolutely nothing. He was stiff to be delisted last year. We kept Josh Wagner and delisted this bloke who would have been good depth for the wing spot. In that same year we picked up a bloke called Aaron Vandenberg and Mitch White. Vandenberg is an animal and White was also a tough nut. There was a theme there.
-
No he doesn't. This is his biggest weakness. He is pretty soft for a guy with his frame. Tries to play that floating 3rd tall instead of being the top dog up forward. I'd much rather take the risk on Daniher then Wright. At least Daniher is proven A grader when fully fit.

What's the social distancing rules around this exactly ? I am not attending at all, but intrigued how this event is able to meet those requirements.

Hibbered is extremely poor as a one on one defender. I think we will start to see him phased out in the manner that Bernie Vince was. I would not be surprised if Joel Smith is highly considered. With his speed and power, he could play a role on either Jack Martin or McGoven. It's obvious the coaching staff rate him highly internally and want to get games into him. I also think Marty Hore will find it really hard to break in this year unless injury to Lever.
-
I can definitely confirm that the Melbourne recruiting staff and Paul Roos were not fans at all of Peter Wright in his draft year. The theme of their recruitment style that year was kids who had competitive physical instincts. Peter Wright biggest knock was that for a big lump of a lad, he is quiet "soft" and doesn't provide much physical presence around the contest. I don't think much has changed since.⅝

They'll have McGovern and Casboult in there as well Oscar beat Darling hands down. He will play. You need to continue to reward good form. May is also capable on playing on small's and mediums as well.
-
So they already picked a round 1 side literally 3 weeks before the actual game? Yeah nah.. I think your mate has stitched you up here.
-
Joel Smith also talked up highly by Chaplin and Richardson.
-
Petty has been training up forward all summer.
-
I signed up 3 weeks ago thanks. Even signed up my 6 month fella also. Again, we were and still are going through a family turmoil at the time. Money was needed elsewhere. Partner unfortunately laid off from her job due to Covid 19, which means supporting her financially as well. Don't dictate how people should spend their money. Life right now is tough for everyone. If they can't afford memberships then that's understandable. Far bigger worries in the world going on right now.
-
Carlton, Essendon, Geelong, and Sydney first up. All absolutely winnable games.
-
Cool. So in other words you don't know, and just looking for excuses to sick the boots in once again. Thanks 'Dee-luded'.. I'm sure we'll come again to discuss further topics. Go Dees.
-
Bin, omac looks alright, I had him 2nd best on against the eagles.. see I'm coming around ? Hope you're well old fella.
-
How do you know this?
-
Now it's you getting personal Lude.. don't be a hypocrit now.. You are struggling to understand the simple concept of what I am trying to get at 'Luded'.. The Dane Swan response was all about how not having a ripped physic like you want, means that they are not going to make it as footballers. You're pointing out Oliver and Brayshaw as guys that need to work harder on their body shape. Swan is an example of why sometimes not having a pro AFL standard body will equel to poor performances. You pointed out Alex Neal Bullen as a prime example... which was quite laughable, as @Demonland pointed out, just because he's got the prototype body doesn't mean that's given him much success. In fact 99.9% would much rather take Oliver the way he is right then a Alex Neal Bullen. Answer me this mate, (which you still haven't after i have given you an example used by Brendan McCartney). Give me some real honest facts on why you think Oliver needs to lose weight?
-
"And your happy to have that culture, of binge-ing amongst your group.?" Nothing personal at all from my end at all 'Luded'.. I'm just sick of people who make up things along the way to give people like yourself a reason to pot blokes like Oliver because according to you, he doesn't have a pro AFL body.. c'mon man that is one of the most bizarre things said. Yes I would understand if he had poor work ethic and questionable training habits, but he doesn't. He's a dedicated young footballer who is wanting to be the best that he can be. His training and off field work is first class. There is no love from my end mate. I am just saying your wrong. There are far more bigger issues at our club right now then Oliver and Brayshaw.
-
You're wrong.
-
Oh so now our players are 'binge-ing'.. again you're just making up things along the way and it's not healthy and incredibly harsh on the likes of Clayton Oliver who I'll take Brendan McCartney word over yours that he is one of the hardest working young players on our list over your "they're bingeing" or "Oli has a long way to go with his body shape blah blah blah". You're looking for reason to pot these blokes. This has nothing to do with culture at all mate. This is going around in circles 'Luded'. Time to end it at that.

Oh dear....... ?♂️
