NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
Mentioned this a while back but I was genuinely surprised with the way the doggies handled their list management over the summer. The Grand Final performance really exposed a few holes on their list. I was shocked they did not go after another ruckman. Stefan Martin is a cooked as they come and he's 35 years old now. Luke Jackson was simply jumping all over him on GF day. Tim English is good around the ground but he is one of the softest big blokes I've ever seen playing AFL. He just hates the physical side of things and this is where they get exposed at times. There was an opportunity there to get Peter Ladhams from Port Adelaide who was shopping himself around and would have been the perfect fit to team up with English. Plays up forward also so that would have given them another tall forward to assist Naughton who is getting smashed as we speak. Missed opportunity there. They failed to address their need for another big bodied defender. They went and grabbed Tim O'Brien who is a 3rd tall defender (meh footballer really) who realistically replaces Easton Wood who got taught a huge lesson by Fritsch on GF day. Alex Keath gets badly exposed because he's quite slow off the mark and he's banged up at 30 years of age. If Keath goes down they are in serious trouble because there isn't any up and coming defenders on their list. Ben Brown was so unlucky not to kick 6 last week and both McKay and Curnow combined for 9 goals last night. This was a genuine weakness last year that wasn't addressed in the off season. They did not even address this in the draft and instead focused on half forwards and midfielders. Something that they're already stacked with. Looking carefully at their list, I think they could really drop in the next few years until they learn to address some significant needs.

Casey Demons 2022
Kobi George must not have made the cut.

NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
Honestly the most overrated player in the comp. Gets a lot of the ball but he is horrible by foot. So called leader who missed two gettable shots at goal and the flop was typical doggies.

CASEY: Rd 01 vs Sandringham
The talk out of the pre season seems to all lean on Taj and Howes to lesser extent as the first year player most likely to debut. Mark Williams talked him up at a VFL function the other night and Riley Beveridge had him as a likely player that could debut early this season. Taj and Howe really do excite me from watching absolutely no live games of either.

CASEY: Rd 01 vs Sandringham
VFL: Corrigan keen for season of growth “But Casey is already looking forward to giving opportunities to its younger brigade, including Roan Steele (Frankston YCW), Tyler Edwards (Rowville) and Matthew Buntine (GWS).” … ‘Then we’ve got players like Roan Steele and Tyler Edwards who we are more than happy to see become their replacements.’ .… Alongside the ever-reliable group of mature players including James Munro, Mitch White, Jack Bell and Aidan Quigley, Corrigan has plenty to be opportunistic about when he throws in the likes of AFL recruits Blake Howes and Taj Woewodin. ‘Both Blake and Taj have been super in their pre-season and haven’t missed a beat,’ Corrigan said. ‘In each practice match they’ve showed continual development and progression in their roles - we’re not putting a ceiling on where they can get to by the end of the year.’

Teams not released on a Thursday night?

NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
Can see why we got rid of Hannan.

NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
Their midfield win enough of the ball which means it's less pressure on their backs. They have a good system in place.

NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
They're the real deal Carlton. Say what you want, but they absolutely have the cattle to finish top 4. Their midfield and forward line is elite.

NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
There is some 2019 Dees vibe about the Dogs this year..

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
Going to be an absolute slog going off the weather report.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
He rivals Rhys Mathieson.

Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin

Mac Andrew
Great for the Suns that their young up and coming players are finally wanting to stay at the club. Ben King I believe is the start of the domino effect now.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
Gold Coast at home is definitely no easy beats. No reason why they can't win this game.

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
In fairness to Mitchell tthough isn't this no different to how Goodwin/Gawn preach about our players expressing ourselves on and off the field?

I love it even more when other clubs aspire to be like us..

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
Watching the Hawthorn and North game reminder me so much of 2009 Melbourne when we would battle other bottom 4 teams. Game littered with skill errors, but was fast and exciting at times.

Don't worry, I too have been telling my mates how [censored] their teams are. I'm arrogant AF now.

Try again.

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
I don't rate either Richmond or Hawthorn compared to Brisbane who did it the absolute hard way. Only thing that stopped them from getting 4 flags in a row was the significant [censored] up by the AFL with the preliminary final travel travesty.

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
What lol Adelaide were 2 goals up at quarter time and only 2 goals down at at half time. They were absolutely right in the game going into the 3rd quarter. The GWS game is absolutely no different to the Hawthorn's 2014 gran final. Both games were were over at quarter time. All Hawthorn's grand finals the opposition were pretty much done in the first quarter.

You'd think so.. But Gil doesn't operate that way.
