  1. If Weideman has a really good game today then Tmac's position must come under serious consideration right? Even if Hibberd is fit, they won't bring him straight back in after missing 4 weeks of no match play. He'll need a full game in the VFL to see if his calf can get through before he is considered in the AFL. If there is one player I'll be keeping a close eye on today at Casey it's Deakyn Smith. Speedy half back who's got good poise and skill. He's the one I want putting pressure on Jayden Hunt.
  2. Those inbreds at Lygon Street never cease to amaze me.
  3. Kind of result I expected. Good hard fought slog against a team that's certainly on the rise. Play like that tonight all year and I think they win 10 games. Our young kids are genuine freaks. Bowey and Jackson are next level, kozzie just doing what Kozzie does. I also liked Tom Sparrow's inside work and James Jordon on the wing who's work rate was noticeable tonight. Take the win, and move on to next week.
  4. Jayden Hunt is a dead set shocker
  5. Petty and Lever could not come back quick enough..
  6. He's had 18 disposals in the first half and running at 89% disposal efficiency and 307m gained for a half. He won't get a rising star this week because he's not a sexy Josh Rochelle or Nick Daicos type.
  7. Switched over to Hawthorn Port game and I'm in disbelief with the result. I had Hawthorn tipped as a bottom 2 club this year.
  8. Viney is having one of his worse games you'll see.
  9. Defence has gone to [censored] and mids getting smoked around the ball in the last 5 minutes
  10. Yes Jack Bell who's a former St Kilda rookie who is 203cm tall.
  11. Dangerfield just the 14 disposals last night. Was he tagged?
  12. One of thr all time great is buddy 🐐
  13. Mentioned this a while back but I was genuinely surprised with the way the doggies handled their list management over the summer. The Grand Final performance really exposed a few holes on their list. I was shocked they did not go after another ruckman. Stefan Martin is a cooked as they come and he's 35 years old now. Luke Jackson was simply jumping all over him on GF day. Tim English is good around the ground but he is one of the softest big blokes I've ever seen playing AFL. He just hates the physical side of things and this is where they get exposed at times. There was an opportunity there to get Peter Ladhams from Port Adelaide who was shopping himself around and would have been the perfect fit to team up with English. Plays up forward also so that would have given them another tall forward to assist Naughton who is getting smashed as we speak. Missed opportunity there. They failed to address their need for another big bodied defender. They went and grabbed Tim O'Brien who is a 3rd tall defender (meh footballer really) who realistically replaces Easton Wood who got taught a huge lesson by Fritsch on GF day. Alex Keath gets badly exposed because he's quite slow off the mark and he's banged up at 30 years of age. If Keath goes down they are in serious trouble because there isn't any up and coming defenders on their list. Ben Brown was so unlucky not to kick 6 last week and both McKay and Curnow combined for 9 goals last night. This was a genuine weakness last year that wasn't addressed in the off season. They did not even address this in the draft and instead focused on half forwards and midfielders. Something that they're already stacked with. Looking carefully at their list, I think they could really drop in the next few years until they learn to address some significant needs.
  14. Kobi George must not have made the cut.
  15. Honestly the most overrated player in the comp. Gets a lot of the ball but he is horrible by foot. So called leader who missed two gettable shots at goal and the flop was typical doggies.
  16. The talk out of the pre season seems to all lean on Taj and Howes to lesser extent as the first year player most likely to debut. Mark Williams talked him up at a VFL function the other night and Riley Beveridge had him as a likely player that could debut early this season. Taj and Howe really do excite me from watching absolutely no live games of either.
  17. VFL: Corrigan keen for season of growth “But Casey is already looking forward to giving opportunities to its younger brigade, including Roan Steele (Frankston YCW), Tyler Edwards (Rowville) and Matthew Buntine (GWS).” … ‘Then we’ve got players like Roan Steele and Tyler Edwards who we are more than happy to see become their replacements.’ .… Alongside the ever-reliable group of mature players including James Munro, Mitch White, Jack Bell and Aidan Quigley, Corrigan has plenty to be opportunistic about when he throws in the likes of AFL recruits Blake Howes and Taj Woewodin. ‘Both Blake and Taj have been super in their pre-season and haven’t missed a beat,’ Corrigan said. ‘In each practice match they’ve showed continual development and progression in their roles - we’re not putting a ceiling on where they can get to by the end of the year.’
  18. Teams not released on a Thursday night?
  19. Can see why we got rid of Hannan.
  20. Their midfield win enough of the ball which means it's less pressure on their backs. They have a good system in place.
  21. They're the real deal Carlton. Say what you want, but they absolutely have the cattle to finish top 4. Their midfield and forward line is elite.
  22. There is some 2019 Dees vibe about the Dogs this year..
  23. Oscar still crap.
  24. Going to be an absolute slog going off the weather report.
  25. He rivals Rhys Mathieson.
