  1. To me he looks heavy again like he did back in 2020. Slow and struggles to turn again. He's not covering the ground like he was early parts of last year. I was surprised we signed him for an extra 2 years.
  2. Not just finals but average few weeks leading into finals.
  3. Jacob Van Rooyen was pictured as training in today's main training session. I thought initially he missed the VFL due to health and safety protocols but seems like he wasn't.
  4. Reading this triggers me 2012-2013 era......
  5. I think training condition needs to be taken into account with Ben Brown. All good and well to say that he can just jump on a treadmill, but a main training session with high intensity work usually goes for at least 2 hours? It's then the weights, captains run etc that also adds us. I think it's a risk in itself but then watching Tom McDonald who was a clear worst on ground Friday night makes me think that BB could not play any worse then what tmac did if they did decide to play him.
  6. Kynan Brown has made the official Oakleigh Chargers squad this year as a bottom age prospect. Is eligible for father son next year. Oakleigh will be quite strong this year and young Kynan was named emergency for today's win against Sandringham Dragons. From what I have been told, Kynan is around the 180cm mark and is a tough midfielder who goes in hard.
  7. I didn't watch the game but why was Jacob Van Rooyen a late out??
  8. I think it's an easy call? You drop the bloke that's been completely out of form since the Hawthorn game last year.
  9. One thing that hasn't been mentioned and was the absolute highlight for me. Tom Sparrow's game saving tackle on Jake Stringer in the centre. Essendon had momentum and Sparrow stopped him right on his tracks.
  10. Bring in the other Brown then. McDonald has not played a decent game since the Port Adelaide game last year. Can't continue to carry a bloke that's had zero influence.
  11. Glad you mention this. No one will say this from an external point of view but James Jordon role on the wing is very underrated. His work rate and defensive running is off the charts. Did a lot of unrewarded running and held his width well. Harmes, Sparrow and Rivers were all good tonight. Hunt not so much for me.
  12. Told you all that Weideman was a good selection pre game. Nah jk I put my hand up. That was like Weideman of the 2018 finals series. More of that thanks. Tom McDonald on the other hand is depth now. Casey. Whatever it takes. One game I'd rather forget and move on with the win.
  13. Told you all Weideman would be a good selection tonight.
  14. Weideman, Petracca, Fritsch and Co. This is absolutely on you for missing those easy shots early on the game to get us going. [censored] idiots
  15. Urgh Joel Smith....
  16. Trac more focussed in running through blokes instead of giving off the first option. Gawn has gone MIA. McDonald is so cooked that he's struggling to to get to a contest from a speed point of view. Once the ball hits the ground he's a liability. Viney, Jordon and Oliver our best mids so far. Harmes sloppy for the 3rd week in a row. Both Kozzie and Spargo need to pull their finger out. Have not once spotted them at the drop of the ball when we've entered forward 50. Both giving us nothing. Backline doing a superb job.
  17. We should be 30 points up. But no, once again our forward [censored] the bed when the opportunity presents itself. Our backline is saving our bacon and doing a tremendous job down back. Hope Steven May absolutely gives our forwards an absolute spray.
  18. Horrendous game of footy. Full time pro footballers missing goals dead in front is seriously inexcusable.
  19. McDonald is cooked.
  20. Toby Bedford is the sub.
  21. No one legit wanted him. I too want him to have a great game tonight, but 6 years in the system for very little return doesn't stack up well. The biggest weakness for him is confidence. He's so down on confidence and has been for 2 years now. The biggest worry I have of him coming in tonight is that he's not coming in on good form and his confidence low from having a poor game last week. Dropped easy marks against lesser opponents, poor body language, poor 2nd efforts and defensive work. It wasn't a good look last week Talent the there, mental strength isn't unfortunately. Going off this logic then Van Rooyen should be playing because he was far superior then Weideman last week. Coaching staff wouldn't throw him into the wolves so early which is good, but watching the whole VFL game last week he's imo behind a VFL ordinary player in Mitch Brown as you say, and an 18 year old forward who hasn't even played AFL level. Weids confidence was shot last week and it was very evident watching him play.
  22. Lol... On last week's VFL form I'm seriously perplexed how Weideman gets a game. He was so poor last week and his body language was woeful. Went from being quite confident for tonight to now being not confident at all especially with this selection. Reward form, not by name.
  23. 2000 and 2013.. Enough said.
  24. No surprises which is a good thing. But, Jake Melksham getting named emergency is genuinely taking the [censored] right? His VFL performance last week was woeful. Absolutely cooked.
