Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
dazzledavey36 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's on. -
Just on the article above, I found this quote pretty much aligns with what @goodwindees said about adding Dunstan. If an opportunity arises to add some experience to that midfield group, that would be our number one priority heading into this period. “People might think we’ve got this terrific midfield, which we do, but we’re still actually quite young. “We’re a contest-based team and we’ve got to make sure we’ve got depth in that area of the ground and competition for spots in that area.”

They talk about Dunstan at 1:15. -
A player who has zero patience for his career. He's success hungry now and I expect every single player to be having this same mindset. Just a champion growing in front of our eyes.

Luke Dunstan has the same management company as Christian Petracca @goodwindees? Robbie D'Orazio'? -

This is my question as well. Wouldn't he be better off at Gold Coast getting solid game time and consistent run of games? -
The moment he/she pops out. 30 year deal at 700k. Still understand in my opinion.

You do realise a lot has changed since this post in August? Woewodin has since gotten invite to the National combine which means more clubs have raised interest. It should come out within the next few weeks that Melbourne will hopefully nominate Woewodin as a father son selection. -
Yeah fair point.
-
Has the club already met with him mate? Just worry that Dunstan may think he won't get the midfield minutes compared to say Gold Coast for instance where he'd be their starting on baller.
-
I hope we don't.

Wow. To be honest I actually don't mind the Dunstan talk. He polled 11 brownlow votes this year and I think with the year we had with limited injuries he certainly would be a handy inclusion for a Viney or Oliver if they went down. I'm guessing this is the Alan Richardson connection?

Nathan Brown's son Kynan will be part of the Oakleigh Chargers program next year as a 16-17 year old. Jemma Rigoni daughter of Guy is also part of the Oakleigh Chargers woman's team as well. Pretty sure she'll be in this year's draft. Noah Yze is making big strides in his development as well and could be part of one of the development junior squads next year. Plays up forward and kicked 10 goals in one of his games this year. Represented his league as well this year I believe. Kalani White who will be 15 next year is now coming up to the early initial stage of being part of the development squads. Most likely the Gold Coast junior development Academy. But remember we still get first dibs as a father son prospect.

Yep. Even if we wanted to potentially add a depth player there's literally nothing that sticks out in the current market. I suppose they are delisted for a reason.

He's a sniping [censored] just like his uncle. Plus he's an ordinary footballer in general. You want players to improve your team not make it worse.

Jimmy Toumpas gets his premiership

Well done Jimmy. -
He'll be 29 next year. Not sure whether it was his back that resulted in this but his form in the back end of the year dropped significantly. We were just lucky the like of Brown, Fritsch, Pickett were able to stand up and kick goals. I honestly think that IF Weideman is able to have an injury free pre season and get through the pre season games without any hiccups then he may potentially take McDonald's spot. But right now it's McDonald's spot to lose.

Our very own NGA Academy prospect is playing today for the Allies live stream below. He's been named on a wing. -
