  1. Yeah I still stand that I think its a long shot with Humphrey. I think Gold Coast will make it hard but also what happens if he doesnt nominate us? Butters may be a long shot but Ben King has spent time with Steven King which i dont really consider a long shot compared to Butters.
  2. Could go towards Humphrey if he nominates us or even Butters or Ben King next year.
  3. Can anyone post full article please?
  4. No one has said he is as good as Trac.. but he is a star on the rise of the competition and GC will be reluctant to let him go at all which they have been very adamant of unless he comes out and requests a trade back to Victoria and even then I think Gold Coast will be still reluctant to use him as part of a trade.
  5. From Fox Footy article. CHRISTIAN PETRACCA TO GOLD COAST That leads us into the Suns’ most important move — operation land Petracca. It mightn’t be that easy though, for Melbourne would want to be well compensated for the contracted four-time All-Australian. But his nomination to head north instead of Adelaide is a win for Melbourne given Gold Coast’s surplus of assets including three-first round picks — potentially four if it gets St Kilda’s Pick 7 for Sam Flanders. The first port of call for the Demons would be Bailey Humphrey, as unlikely as that would be. For the Suns have said Humphrey won’t be traded, despite the 21-year old meeting with Melbourne officials and clearly being open to a return to Victoria with multiple clubs circling. Let’s just pretend Humphrey isn’t available, for then it becomes a question of which party has to give up more (for the record, we’d say Melbourne). That would make Gold Coast’s Pick 7 it gets for Flanders the centrepiece of a deal with the Demons. Melbourne, who doesn’t currently have a first-round pick, would want another first rounder thrown in on top of that. The Suns would be prepared to do that — and say, give up pick 14 or 17 — if it meant their remaining capital was enough to secure their academy players. Or if beyond the two highest rated of those academy prospects, Zeke Uwland and Dylan Patterson, if Gold Coast was prepared to forgo one or more of the others. At the end of the day, it’s still a much cheaper cost than Charlie Curnow and the Suns should get Ugle-Hagan for very little, if anything. What gets deal done -Melbourne receives Pick 7, Pick 17 -Gold Coast receives Christian Petracca, Pick 26
  6. I think Craig Cameron has turned into a bit of Adrian Dodoro wannabe so this where it can be difficult if they are declaring that Humphrey wont be traded under any circumstances. I do agree with you though is that if Humphrey does come out and nominate us then it will certainly throw a spanner in the works
  7. I want to dare to dream but I just dont see how it can actually happen even with the Petracca trade.
  8. No, i havent said that at all. The reality is we will get an early pick. Thats a given. Whether thats pick 7 alongside pick 13 perhaps, who knows. If the club wants players then we need to get realistic. They're not sending pick 7 and Humphrey for instance. I think its going to be incredibly hard to get Humphrey involved at all. If it was me personally I would be asking for Will Graham with pick 7. Graham will be an up and coming star in years to come who might find it hard to squeeze in with all these academys coming through. He is a talent who would slot well into a midfield next year.
  9. Petracca ain't staying mate. The club want his salary off the books quick smart.
  10. Dont think we will get Humphrey at all as part of the deal. But I wouldnt be surprised if Alex Davies may be the player that they ask for in terms of wanting something back along with an early pick. Tall inside midfielder who has had to bide his time due to Anderson and Rowell taking up all the midfield minutes. Everytime I have watched him at AFL level he seems to do well. He'd get far greater midfield minutes with us instead of GC.
  11. I have been a fan of this kid for a while now and whilst he is my second option behind Sully Robey, I would be fairly happy of we nabbed him in the draft. Rarely, and I mean rarely.does he ever waste a disposal. So clean and and calm under pressure that would suit our game style transition especially coming from half back.
  12. Or lead at the ball carrier..... #shockhorror
  13. Isn't this exactly the kind of numbers most on here are wanting to throw at Humphrey.. lol
  14. Yeah I disagree.
  15. If they are BOG average then i would hate to know what ours is outside of Gawn and Kozzie.....
  16. I do know for a fact that Melbourne and a few other club had enquired about Pheonix Gothard but supposedly that was quickly shut down by the Giants as they rate him pretty highly and think he will play games next year. Maybe it means we will be searching for a small forward as well 🤷🏽‍♂️
  17. Not really Neil. It was only one person (Pert) last year that went behind the the coach, list manager and the president back to speak to Geelong about a potential trade. This year its the whole club as a collective that has pushed it this time.
  18. This year is completely different to last year at Geelong. It wasn'tthe coach that forced him to go speak to Geelong it was a board member instead. This time around its the coach that has pretty told him to look at other options because he's not guaranteed a game next year. Two completely different scenarios.
  19. I think this is a solid pick up. For once JVR wont actually take the best defender now. He's a big bodied forward who will provide strength and contest in our front half whilst JVR is able to develope his game without the pressure of taking the best defender. 30 plus goals next season will be a solid outcome i reckon.
  20. I know exactly what he's been through right on a personal level i know his family and his knockabout mates he hangs out with up here. Worked with him when he was at the Murray Bushrangers and even then he obviously needed a lot of growing up to do. Not much has since change. You on the other hand dont exact know what he's been through and the [censored] he put the club through because you're so incredibly blinded by your rosy red and blue glasses.. I mean look how thats worked out with McVee lol Its about time we get a coach that actually wants to change this culture and set incredibly high standards instead of babysitting someone that cant take the most simple of constructive feedback provided to them. Okay
  21. No, its to confirm that he's clearly not willing to change up his role or spend time at Casey. Very simple to work out.
  22. If we nap Sully Robey with one of those picks then I'll be an incredibly happy man. Absolute jet
