Since when do we need another A grade ruckman to prolong Gawns career? The best mids last year had a bloke by the name of Rhys Stanley as their number 1 ruckman who's 100% no where near A grade quality. Just an honest battler who competed when needed. The Gawn Grundy combination will work because it'll be forced to work mind you. Will take some time but so does any new player that comes into a whole new system.

Still worries me we've put a premium on another genuine ruckman when I would have rather either save the cash to sort out our forward structure which to me doesn't fix any of that when Gawn or Grundy are part of the forward set up because they're not natural forwards who kick goals. I watched the Collingwood Carlton match last week. McStay is certainly a much better fit for them moving forward. Took a couple of strong contested marks and kicked 3.

This terminology of language around football contracts has been used since the 90's. Most journo's I've read have always said he's out of contract at the end of the year so technically they are correct.

These stats also reinforce my concern around Harmes and whether he's in our best 22 anymore. He was at times, running through the centre as a starting mid and then rotating half forward. To only get 6 touches in 4 quarters of footy as a mid/forward doesn't bode well for him moving into the new season.
