Going off pre season report Verrall has barely done any ball work due to his groins. I think he he'll be a fair way off senior action. I was a tad surprised we didn't have a mature age ruckman trial with us for the last rookie spot. Verrall will be behind the 8 ball and the footy club will be seeking a special permission from the AFL for Farris-White to play in the NAB league. Schache and McDonald may be the next one in line.
  3. Same bloke that is desperate to play midfield. Put him alongside Viney Oliver Petracca who are all in unbelievable nick, then yes, he's in terrible shape. Just to remind people that he's got a history of this. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/melbourne-midfielder-angus-brayshaw-sheds-four-kilograms-for-afl-return/news-story/661ecd77c52a35d78c556079306a4191 MELBOURNE hard-nut Angus Brayshaw was asked to shed four kilograms after becoming “a little bit chubby” earlier this season. Get it when they're starting off In the system because they're still working on getting that professionalism right. But when you're 27 year old, almost 150 gamer coming off a huge 6 year deal then it's absolutely not a good look.
  4. Ah right, makes sense now.
  5. Really think we need to start looking at life after Petracca, Oliver's etc. A genuine power inside mid would be top priority for me.
  6. Why was I think David Watts for some reason? He was our last strength and power coach right??
  7. What's tattooed on his forearm?
  8. I've waited long enough.. Now give us a report!
  9. Would be handy also if we had a game plan that would actually play to him and the rest of the forwards strengths...

Going by big @kev martin chat with Alan Richardson it looks like Trent will be at the Casey Demons this year if we don't select him. Good to hear he's living with Kozzie.
  11. I do take that into consideration @rjay, but we had opportunities in the back half of the year to pull the pin on guys who were completely cooked. Ben Brown was barely on 1 leg and we had a fit JVR/Sam Weideman fresh and ready to go. For me, the warning signs go right back to round 1 last year when for some whatever reason we selected a proppy Christian Salem with a heavily bandaged knee who then lasted not even 5 minutes from a simple tackle. Why did he play round 1 when he was clearly not fit? Looking back this completely ruined his year. I know it's hindsight, but that was a perfect opportunity to just ease him back into it and have him fresh and ready to play come round 4-5. Just giving him those few extra weeks would have been beneficial.
  12. Cheers Kev. Another thing, what position did they have Howes playing? Such an intriguing player to me.
  13. How was Jefferson in the match style simulation?

  15. But they didn't though. Whilst all model of loading is different at each club, the bigger difference at Geelong compared to us last year was that Scott managed his senior players far more better then Goodwin did. Players were managed if they had a niggle whereas the Burgess philosophy (which Griffith obviously used) was to get players to fight through the pain barrier and play through whatever niggles they're carrying. This backfired at a staggering rate. The evidence was right there in the back half of the year. Also, my main argument isn't on the whole loading concept because it is what what it is. It simply didn't work last year. My main argument is coaching reluctance and stubbornness in resting players when needed. This needs a massive tweak this year.
  16. The Corowa Rutherglen Football Club senior coaching role was his foer the taking this year had he not been offered another contract.
  17. Thanks gentlemen, you guys are legends.
  18. Reminds me so much of Jacks Watts with that action. He had a very fluent and simple action. Kicked some real clutch goals over his career.

You're only going back 15 years with that one.. 😁
  20. Goals are created through manic pressure acts and slick ball use going inside 50.
  21. There were plenty.
  22. I could be wrong about this but isn't it up to clubs now to organise their own practice games?? Thought they changed thay last year??
