  1. "Incredibly talented footballer" is a bit of a stretch to be honest. I accepted a while ago that I thought he was a good honest footballer who really does try his heart out, but still lacked the basics that you needed to take the next step of being a good key forward. He's very inconsistent and for such a guy that's right in his prime now he should be now influencing games, yet he still plays like a first year key forward. Example is, he's had 8 years in the AFL system and yet he's never kicked 20 goals in a season at AFL level. The most he's kicked in a year is 19. Josh Schache for instance has even kicked 24 in one year. When I think of incredibly talented players in the key forward stakes, the first two that come to mind are Aaron Naughton and Charlie Curnow. Weideman is not even remotely close to matching their talents. He's actually a great guy off field and gives you that vibe that you badly want him to make it, but it's just not going to happen unfortunately. All good, better things in life then footy.
  2. I agree. I'd swap Spargo for Chandler in a heart beat.
  3. He's had to unfortunately delete his instagram account again (did this back in 2019). Starting to question whether Scott is doing the right thing for his mental health simply by playing him when he's horribly out of form. I also do worry if AFL footy is for him. We know once he drops his head that's it for him and he struggles to fight his way out of it. Saw some pretty horrible and personal comments last night from Bombers supporters on social media directed at Weideman. Needs a good 4 weeks at VFL level just to get back enjoying footy again because on observation last night he's not enjoying it one bit.
  4. Right now we hold pick 4. This is the kid I want in the red and blue. He's and inside and outside mid who has good break away pace and ability to win huge numbers of the ball. He's rising high in draft stocks and is a definite top 5 pick in my opinion. This was him yesterday. Few highlights from this year's championship carnival.
  5. Angry Crows couldn't even rebound after their loss to the Bombers.
  6. Seeing some pretty bad comments on social media regarding Sam Weideman. Was reading a stat that he hasn't kicked a goal in 6 week.. How on earth does that happen for a key forward?
  7. The results have suited us perfectly so far.
  8. I remember when both Gawn and Goody said the Gawn/Pruess combo will work as well. Funny that.
  9. Yeah I've gone off Duursma purely just think others have overtaken him. He'll still be a talent at AFL level no doubt.
  10. Agree regarding the calls on Smith being super sub. Still think there's a spot for him in the starting 22 but.
  11. Yeah I think I'm leaning towards McKercher. Just watched his highlights and he's everything we're missing in our midfield mix.
  12. Genuinely torn. Nick Watson, Colby McKercher and Ryley Sanders are 3 I'm finding incredibly hard to separate for our first pick. All 3 would fit a genuine need for us.
  13. Spargo for me, he has to go. Has been a liability for the past 2 weeks. Gave them all the momentum when he coughed it up so easy in that 2nd quarter. After that, Brisbane went on a complete run on. Do they bring in Smith as the extra mobile tall or someone like Chandler who is vastly better defensively in terms of tackling and pressure. Tommo in for Petty. Don't care if he passes fit this week, he needs a spell. Reward Tommo's form for once who was in much better form then Petts.
  14. Jesus praha, you'd make a good minute taker. Feel like I'm sitting right next to you!
  15. Leave the game in the balance? Don't think missing shots early in the first quarter is leaving the game in balance mate, especially so early in the game. I was a big Melksham detractor last year but he's played his role throughout this year and tonight especially throughout the whole game on Harris. 10 marks, 4 contested and probably unlucky not to kick 5 for the night. That was prime 2018 Melksham performance.
  16. I think he still prefer him up forward. But when he came on he made our backline much more assured then Petry did. Petty needs a few weeks spell.
  17. Season defining win in my opinion
  18. Good to see Peter Jackson in the clubrooms post game.
  19. Kozzie just swore on live TV lol
  20. Thr Melksham goal was great but the mark was genuine clutch.
  21. Trent Rivers take a bloody bow also. Took the game on and got things going!
  22. Harris best on ground Maxy!? Genuinely taking the [censored]?
  23. Think you owe Jake Melksham an apology @picket fence
