Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

In what way? Have they been personal or just simply performance based comments? -
Would not be surprised if Harmes is traded at years end

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
dazzledavey36 replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
He was in the same draft as Oliver. In fact both teammates and close friends at the Murray Bushrangers. I've always been a bit bias on Schache just from dealing with him back then. Some people forget that during his draft year he was rated the best key forward in his draft year by a fair mile ahead of the likes of Charlie Curnow, Harry McKay and Eric Hipwood. So the talent is definitely there. Being at Brisbane at a time where they were one of the worst teams going around didn't help his development. Then having to go to the doggies where he's had no continuity due to form, injuries and Bevo being an odd unit hasn't helped either. If it was me I'd give Schache 5 games in a row at AFL level to see how whether he's up to it and just advise him that they have zero expectations, but also just wanting him to compete hard each game.- 481 replies

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
dazzledavey36 replied to Timothy Reddan-A'Blew's topic in Melbourne Demons
Correct -
Adelaide would be crazy not to pursue him hard. He'd fit in really well at every club purely from a culture and team first perspective. Would slot into any leadership role that is thin in this area and its a part where I still think the Crows lack. So glad to hear him being close to signing a new deal. My guess will be a 4 year deal that'll take him to the age of 31 years of age and life member of the footy club.

No, by majority of supporters. We're all happy he's getting an opportunity but from a playing perspective he absolutely doesn't have a spot in our forward line ahead of JVR or Petty. Even Ben Brown Brown who's played less gamed then Weideman this has kicked more goals then him still. He's good bloke but.

I didn't realise Grundy was this good.

I'm gonna cop it for saying this but imo Grundy is actually a better centre tap ruckman than Gawn. Only have to go back to half way through the 3rd quarter when Grundy was thrown in there and completely changed the momentum of the game just by simply palming to our midfield advantage. Gawn can be hit and miss and i thought that when he was rucking at times Richmond seem to generate more clearences because he hits it to the defensive side. The biggest turning point of the game was leaving Grundy to ruck and Gawn up forward. Gawn has such a huge presence up forward and some of his contested marking was Carey like. He makes defenders worry and it could be something that may help JVR development up forward so that he isn't getting the best defender at the start of the match. I want to this more of this where Grundy takes more responsibilities as the main ruck and Gawn playing up forward. If it means less pressure and hits on his body then he'll be cherry ripe come September.- 27 replies

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
dazzledavey36 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mate he's a lock for pick up 1 then its bit of daylight for the next pick unless someone else completely blows him put of te Park. They're absolutely wanting to get pick 1 specifically for Reid only and that's what he's worth. -
Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
dazzledavey36 replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just to add a bit more context to this, this is actually what Cornes said. Melbourne made out clean with Jackson and Grundy moves “Checkmate Melbourne. Grundy is a far superior payer to Luke Jackson as highlighted by his connection with the Melbourne midfielders, particularly after halftime on Monday night. “Gawn was deadly when he went forward, so that combination is just working. “We all wondered how it might work, well we saw it work on Monday. “Collingwood are paying his wage and the Dees own Fremantle’s first and second picks after already the Dockers already coughed up pick 13. “Great trade from Melbourne.” -
Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1

Yeah I'm a bit torn in this as well. He's getting talked up same way as JHF being the generational talent that we haven't seen before. Think I'll hold reserve on this for now... -
TRAINING: Wednesday 26th April, 2023

Was today full training day? Wonder how they had the forward set up? If so was Petty still there working with the forwards? -
Duxy's a male mate...

Kynan has a younger brother coming through by the name of Jake who would be around 16 years of age. Another to watch put for in a couple of years. Marley Davey has just turned 13 this year so expect his name to start coming up over the next few years. My understanding is that he's a very handy young footballer up in Cairns that'll start integrating into junior development squads.

Hibberd had ice in his Achilles once again. Could be another who's managed potentially.

Scrap that just saw in Goodwins presser that Spargo will be put for another week.

You heading tomorrow mate? Would love a report.

I think this thread has run its race. A great win but time to look forward to the kangas. Can you believe it's Wednesday tomorrow already...

Some decisions to weigh up. Do we rest someone like May? He looks completely off and proppy. Could bring in a Turner and move Petty back to take Larkey. Spargo will obviously come in. I think Jordon will unfortunately have to miss. Does Schache come in as the extra tall forward? Was the carry over emergency and form alone in the VFL is so far superior to what Tmac and Brown dished up on Sunday. Then you have Harmes and Dunstan who could come in fresh legs, but again it'll be a matter of who's sore off a 5 day break.

No it doesn't 🤣 especially on form alone. They've had the absolute wood over us over the last 5 years. One of our now bigger bogey teams. We have only Salem who's best 22 to come back into our team whilst they have Adams, Murphy, Lipinski, Howe, Cameron and McStay. Their upside is enormous compared to ours.
