  1. wont be easy today, not super confident but hoping we are good enough to get over the line....Demons by under 10 points

Never heard this reported at the time…I thought he wanted a fresh start in a non football state?
  3. Hope he gets another one tomorrow!
  4. When is the last time TMac and BBB played a decent game? 2021-2022? We are pinning a lot of hope on the shoulders of a couple of old blokes with broken bodies, hoping for a miracle here!
  5. cmon mate.....we wont lose by more than 7 goals surely
  6. 2 not overly inspiring looking teams on paper to be honest…could be a scrappy game
  7. 100% agree…every time we have tried this 2 tall backs it hasn’t worked…
  8. Tommo out against one of the tallest forward line in the comp in perfect dry conditions…wut
  9. Agree with this, we might not have the best forward 6 in the league but let’s see if we can get all of JVR, Petty, McAdam, Fritsch and Kozzie (and perhaps Fullerton) playing together before we judge it for the year
  10. We were poor but far too early to write the season off yet…very hard to win in that sauna ridiculous conditions to play footy….forward line certainly needs some troops back asap to compete though
  11. We just haven’t turned up this last quarter

What looked like a looming disaster a couple of weeks ago hasn't come up too badly...
  13. The club and supporters have been crying out for a quick ball carrier who can kick a goal - from exposed form Caleb fills a need we haven't had so I have no issue playing him. Lachie Hunter is a solid player but he sure doesn't have the pace of our new #6 so looking forward to seeing what he can do on that wing
  14. Might have a sneaky $50 on us at that price
  15. Playing footy
  16. Not sure why we are the underdogs in this one, Sydney aren't that great a side and are missing a lot of first choice mids especially if Adams is out as well now....the SCG doesnt hold any fears for us we should be able to come away with the W
  17. We should be a great chance to knock off the Swans, they are a tough opponent but will be missing Parker and Mills from a midfield that isn't particularly strong on contested ball in the first place - if Max can get on top of Grundy we should get first use plenty of times out of the centre on the small ground.
  18. Went along last night in the sauna at Princes Park, we looked great, too fast, strong and skilled for Carlton. Especially like our quicker ball movement and more open game style which I've always thought plays better to the strengths of our list - we don't have the foot skills to play a Brisbane Lions style kick mark game. Midfield balance will be better too with less inside bulls and more class with Salem/Kosi running through there. Billings will be a handy acquisition as the pressure is off him, we don't care he was a high draft pick he can just play his role and use his foot skills to help the side. He can certainly play and will be more than serviceable I reckon. Forward line a big improvement on last year, love JVRs attack on the ball and marking ability and I though Schache was useful, draws his opponents by running to good spots and played his role quite well. All in all a very positive night, bring on Opening Round!
  19. Be nice to get a win but I don't think it will really have any bearing on the season proper...Carlton will be out for a strong showing on their home deck too. No injuries is always the most important thing!
  20. Such sad news - a champion of our club, his deeds in the 2021 Grand Final will never be forgotten - all the best in retirement Gus
  21. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching us win the majority of games I’ve attended in the last 4 seasons so not sure what these click chasers are on about…
  22. I think he'll get a chance in the midfield to give us a different type, with his outside class and ball use that we haven't had for a while
  23. We've done ok to upgrade our class and X factor with McAdam and Billings in and Harmes and Jordon out.....got so many grunt players it worthwhile trading in a bit more skill
  24. Welcome, Jack
  25. Prob worth a punt considering we've lost a lot more experience this trade period than we've bought in...we've traded/retired Casey's entire midfield in Grundy, Harmes, Dunstan and Jordon At his best he would be useful, depth at least
