  1. Not sure who has had a chance to look at Kings analysis on first crack, but shows some damming vision of Trac Oliver and Viney just trailing Matt Rowell out of a clearance all the way down the ground where Rowell gets to the next contest to create an out number which results in Rowell getting a holding the ball free at the top of 50 where he then proceeds to hand it off to another unmanned player for an easy goal. Wouldn’t matter what tactics we have if our supposed 3 best mids are doing that we aren’t winning many games. They should honestly all be dropped to the VFL, no wonder Goodwin sent Trac Fwd it wasn’t to create a goal chance it was to hide him. Langford a first year player showed them all up why keep playing them when we have kids that will actually try
  2. It will be the fastest path to a rebuild plus the danger of keeping players round who aren’t happy just creates even more issues. Best to move on those who don’t want to be there were reasonable trades can be done, we have seen multiple example of teams turning things round quickly in the last few years once the clubs stop been indecisive. The worst outcome in is do nothing and just waste more years with nothing to show for it
  3. Trac and koz are the only players we have with trade value that aren’t kids, koz is gone in next few years alway so best to move him on now and get the more years into what ever kids we draft as a result, as to trac he will be 30 by the end of this year and what the point of having him run round for the next 3-4 years while we are down the bottom of the ladder when we could be get another few kids and games into them. Between Pickett and trac we should be able to get 4 picks in round 1 add them to the 4 first round picks in the last 2 years and you have nucleus of our next team to contend. Players like Gawn Viney lever, Langdon and Oliver will be there to see the next generation through.
  4. I’ll try keep it positive great game by Langford, despite everything else going on today he never gave up and cracked in all day. If all our senior players could say the same we might not be in this predicament
  5. Until now I’ve thought the players had Goodwins back even when we have been poor, this feels different. Looking at the players even in the first qtr the group as a whole just looked flat and already defeated
  6. Time to bring the kids in, we already had a lot of high picks over the last few years so we have a head start all we have to do is get games into them, we should be looking at what trac and Pickett can bring in so we can get back into the draft, I don’t think any other senior players have have enough value to be worth the trouble
  7. Someone needs to give goody the tap on the shoulder, also bring in the kids and see what we got for the rest of the year. This season is done, start working on what we can get for Trac and Pickett and anyone else that’s old enough to not be there after the next 3-4 years
  8. All the signs of a team that will go through a full rebuild, reminds me of wc in 2022, lot of premiership players still there but fallen off badly
  9. Players look like they want to crawl in a hole and die, we are on our knees waiting for gc to put us out of our misery
  10. Going to need the extra tall vs gc, Howes won’t cut it
  11. Anything but the blues
  12. Sub will be out of melk and tmac you would think
  13. Now McKay is out for personal reasons lucky the rumoured trade of Oliver for McKay never came to pass, we probably would have got the blame for it
  14. Feel like it makes it even worse that we couldn’t even match them there, after watching the hawks and blues on Thursday just shows how far off we were, the hawks were over 220 across the game while blues were only a touch under 200 from memory
  15. Well I think we have realised that we can’t play that style anymore but at the same time made long term commitments to players who are best suited to play that way and are now stuck in no man’s land until we can complete the transition which we started after the conclusion of 2023 and unfortunately it might be more painful than expected
  16. Goodwin has till the end of the year to turn this round but if I was looking I’d be going after someone from the cats or hawks we need someone with there finger on the pulse of the modern game.
  17. Do we put this down to missing personal in May, Pickett and Windsor or do we simply not have the personal to play what has become the template for successful teams these days. Getting goals from our fwd line as ever is an issue but it feels like it’s gone beyond that now, has the game gone past our much vaunted midfield and backline as well
  18. Not sure where we go from here, every fwd entry was a fight for us while north were able to transition the ball much faster and to dangerous positions than us. We simply seem incapable of playing a modern style of football and are stuck playing the contest and territory style of the past
  19. If spargo is in thats means one of turner or Langford or sharp isn’t playing, as I can’t see rivers getting dropped
  20. Commentary on fox is atrocious, it’s like a few drunks at a bar that won’t shutup and know nothing out the game
  21. Great news, don’t think he is anywhere near his full potential yet so unlikely any trade would have gotten fair value. Probably lucky wc and freo both look rubbish so why go back to that
  22. Garbo replied to Redleg's topic in Melbourne Demons
Guess he’s lucky hes done that or it’s probably a concussion and 3 weeks
  23. Garbo replied to Redleg's topic in Melbourne Demons
With the rules the are this is always going to be a week no point appealing this
  24. I bet pies or tigers v gws today wouldn’t have broken 40k today, pies average 35 vs gws at home and tigers 29k which is the same as us, gws never get big crowds even playing big teams here let alone on a cold Sunday 3pm game while the f1 is on
  25. MFC and my extension AFL can’t expect people to just turn up anymore, if you want big crowds you need to play at times people want to go, play a style of football that is pleasing to fans, not schedule games against special events like the f1 and play in venues that aren’t still stuck in the 90s, I know saying that about the mcg is sacrilegious to some but if you ever get the chance to travel and see some of the state of the art grounds in the USA and Europe you would agree. Also I would say AFL has to many games leaving people to pick and choose when to go, NFL is the best example of less is more
