AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Because he plays his best footy off the half back, mid who can go fwd or fwds who can develop into mids are much more valued

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
My guess would be Pickett or Dovaston, think Cumming would be the one tigers let slide over Robey in which case he would get to us

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
was hoping we might trade 7 and 8 for 2 and 13 from wc, which could have got a Robey and probably Pickett, but seems that’s not the case now

Sam Grlj
Always easy to get seduced by highlights but he seems to always be in the right place to get the next possession which makes it look like he has time and space to spare

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
King at a coterie lunch yesterday was asked what players we were looking to draft and he said we are targeting speed, good footy iq and ability to impact in the front half, not sure if that narrows down anything.

Big Cox
How much did he pay 3aw and Jon Anderson to say that

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
0 chance Duff-Tytler makes it to us let alone 13, why would we take a different tall if he was still available
-
Sullivan Robey
Well 7 and 8 combined are worth 2 and 28, I could see wc doing a straight swap for 7 and 8. In this draft you probably need to pay a little overs to move up since it’s not that deep. I think it’s probably worth it for us to get a more guaranteed talent than 2 more speculative players while wc are going to be building for more years yet, they just need numbers.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
WC were apparently trying to get pick 8 via some trade of picks with gc before we snagged it, assuming they are still interested I wonder if we can do a deal to move up to pick 1 or 2, by all reports the first 4-5 excluding the academy and father son picks are still quite good but it drops off after that, WC might feel 2 picks for 1 in there case is preferred even so. 7 and 8 for 2 would work better for us I think

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Steele
If we had a hypothetical best 23 on the park would he be in it, feel like that is line ball next year but even more suspect after that as our younger players get more experience and we bring in more talent via trade or draft, got to think we want to get more mid time into players like Rivers, Langford, Lindsey and Windsor. Pickett and Viney would also be chosen before him to, he also doesn’t seem like that type that could play another role either.

Points wise we essentially got pick 1 or 2 for trac once you account for all the coming and going and some educated guesses on future picks. Feel like if that’s what we traded up to then most would say that’s a good deal for a 29 year old player that looks to be on the decline.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
A swap of Steele for Oliver certainly wasn’t on my bingo card

Best deal we were ever going to get, as long as we dont stuff the picks up it probably works out for the better if we aren’t going to be contenders in the next few years anyway

Spargo for CJ I’d say we came out ahead on that

I just don’t understand the logic if we still pay half his wage in 700k and get nothing back pick wise I’m all on board for new beginnings but not at any cost, another way to look at it, if we are just throwing 700k out the window are we going to get a better player than him with the other 700k we save by getting him off the books completely, if they answer is no isn’t it worth keeping him even if he is extremely over paid.

Better than frost for sure, people saying he is a bad kick are over blowing it, he’s an average kick in the same way most of our team are.

I think it’s just a reflection of the wording coming from each club, we have said Trac is free to look so long as we get a good deal, bombers have always said there is no deal no matter what.

Hawks deal for Merrett is essentially same points wise as what’s mooted for trac 7 and 8 with us giving a pick 24 back, Hustwaite isnt worth a 3rd round pick and future first from them would be up in the late teens I’d expect. Trac was the better player at his peak but Merrett was the better player this year

Can’t be sure they made an offer of 4 and 5 for 1 or 2, my guess would be they would want 13 back as well in any case, where we could give them both picks with nothing in return which might be more appealing to them.

Welcome to Demonland: Changkuoth Jiath
Does some existing things, he’s an X factor we have sorely missed down back, sure he can turn it over but who doesn’t I’ve seen May and Lever do the same thing, the key is that he keeps his cool under pressure and doesn’t fumble inside 50 when round goal

I guess the theory would be we are only taking 3 picks in the draft so it ends up 6, 7 and White, but yea looks bad when u lose trac, Oliver, Judd and Spargo plus our 2nd round pick for that
-
Bailey Humphrey
Rumour is we would be getting pick 6 and 7 for trac but effectively trading out picks points wise equivalent to 7 ie 24 28 and 42 as well
-
Bailey Humphrey
Of trac going turned into butters that would be the best outcome possible
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Seems like gws only wants to hand over pick 35 in a trade for Oliver, I’d hope given that we aren’t paying the mooted 700k of his contract
