  1. Hawks got pies, dogs and crows next 3, wouldn’t be surprised if they lost all 3. I don’t think they have beaten a side inside the 8 this year. Love to see them go into the bye outside the 8 and us above them
  2. If he’s been rested then it implies he would come back in next week, unless someone is injured what are you going to say then. Clearly the club has turner ahead of him atm. The club can always go back to tmac is turners form drops as he is a known quantity but if we want to improve we will need to move past him whether that’s going to be tuner or not isn’t settled.
  3. It still wouldn’t be totally fair but at least they couldn’t just use a bunch of junk picks. My guess is the afl won’t be happy till they have gc lions gws and swans all in contention most years so they won’t change a thing. To me all of this cheapens winning a flag but since when has it ever been equal, everyone gets advantages in different ways some more valuable than others
  4. Well this was why harmes wasn’t in our side anymore
  5. So tmac then?
  6. Think AJ has to stay in for backup ruck, tuner or tmac out for lever, if it’s turner I don’t think we have a spot for him up fwd, we simply won’t bring enough run and pressure with the extra tall and none of our talls including turner will give enough goal wise to make that trade worth it. The only way he gets a spot fwd is in pace of Petty. Agree Viney will come in for sharp or spargo, I’d be keeping fritsch as sub as that worked well.
  7. Lever is always going to come back in so either tmac or tuner goes out, you can’t play may, lever tmac and tuner down back. Tuner could go fwd at the expense of aj but not sure that works since we then have no backup ruck. So out of tmac and tuner my guess is turner goes out
  8. Was surprised as well, no one else will be stealing votes from him this year, unfortunately now you need so many votes too win you can’t get up with 20 something anymore
  9. Would love to hear your take on why we ran out the game so well this week despite being so bad for the the year so far, or why lions were even worse despite being one of the better final qtr teams this year and if you think we have turned a corner in this regard. My working theory is we were never that bad to begin with but because of our turn overs you end up working twice as hard and end up out on our feet before the other team.
  10. Time to double down 4 houses 4 cars 4 partners 8 kids
  11. Well deserved win we worked harder than them all day and just couldn’t get reward and made to many skill errors. So happy it didnt cost us and we got the points, that is the kind of win they can build on.
  12. Well at this point I’ll just take us been even for the last qtr
  13. Why do that silly free to give away just when we have it almost back
  14. Think I just had them on another level with Bont and Danger, they just look like most other mids these days
  15. Both him and Oliver look like they need another pre season but even then might just be the new norm for them
  16. So frustrating to watch this, we are working so much harder than lions but get nothing for it most of the time because of poor skills. You just see why we will be out on our feet in the last it’s not because we aren’t fit it’s because we have to work double time to make up for our mistakes
  17. Hard to know from the tv what’s going on in defence, I suspect they are able to get an extra and use it the whole way down the ground ending in what looks like a loose player inside 50
  18. Same old same old, do a lot right but let our self down with some simple errors
  19. get feeling dogs will go all the way this year
  20. He’s never shown enough at vfl level to warrant selection, at this point it’s just giving him a few games and hoping for the best. If we wait for him to earn it the day might never come and then everyone will criticise Goodwin and the club for never trying him. It’s a lose lose situation
  21. Think it’s a bit of the case that smaller players need to be excellent at other areas of the game like ball use just to make it at afl level, while bigger players are drafted with the idea that you can teach skills but you can’t teach someone to grow 10-20cm. I know for a fact there is many players that can’t get on afl lists simply because of there height, hopefully times are changing
  22. Just realised we have 100% win rate this year without JVR and 100% loss rate with him
  23. Are we though, May, lever, Viney, trac, Oliver, Salem, Landon, tmac, melksham, fritsch are all past there best and some significantly so and Gawn is just defying gravity. Even with our picks over the last few years we aren’t even close to replacing most of them, let alone who we already lost in Pig, Brayshaw, Jackson, Ben Brown and ANB Unfortunately even if Langford, Linsey, Windsor and JVR all turn out to be guns and rivers, Pickett, bowey all continue to step up I don’t see enough talent coming in see us back in finals, outside eagles id say every side has just as much young talent. The only way at the we get back into contention is bringing player via free agency or trade (like we did with May and lever) unfortunately we have struggled for a while now to attract people to the club so not sure how that changes.
  24. Is it time to get real with where the team is at? Everyone would agree tigers are in a full rebuild and yet they have managed to defeat suns, blues and wc. While most would say Dees don’t need to go down that path and we can rebuild on the fly and yet we have beaten tigers, wc and freo with a much more senior list, both teams have had bad losses in between but on balance the tigers have probably been the more impressive so far. Should Dee’s be doing a massive cull this year like tigers did at the end of last season, at this stage it feels like we may as well fully commit as the results aren’t any better unless we think the team is going to immediately spike next year. By my reckoning we shouldn’t holding onto any more than half of the senior players in Viney, Gawn, trac, may, lever, Oliver, Pickett(only if he wants out), Langdon, tmac, fritsch and melksham. Obviously this will mean some favourites will be going and some with some years left but if tigers are anything to go by it’s for the best.
  25. Clarry isn’t fit enough, if you watched him at the game yesterday you would see he is constantly out of position because he is walking or slowly jogging allowing hawks to find an extra player when chaining the ball down the ground
