  1. I think her immediately stepping aside would at least show some accountability for what has gone on this last 18 months and would signal to Petracca and others things are been taken seriously
  2. Hopefully Jeff whites son nominates dees but gotta think this last few week might sway him to goto Gold Coast
  3. Think dees should focus on getting up the draft to fast track any rebuild, going to be to hard to get any player of quality with everything going on
  4. Ah well it’s was fun while it lasted maybe we can merge with North Melbourne
  5. Problem with any trade for Oliver is his contract is so large relative to his output this year and off-field issues, realistically if we were to trade him we would end up paying a large chunk of this contract and only be getting a marginal pick back I’d guess late first round. Unless we need to get his contract off the books for salary cab reasons like pies with Grundy and Treloar it doesn’t makes sense to trade Oliver unless we think he had no future as an afl player and just want to get out while we can at any cost
  6. Funny on Monday several shows and news papers went with the narrative Jack was gone, then low and behold less than 24 hours later he signed to stay for an additional 3 years and all I have seen since are crickets from the same media. No apology, no I was wrong they won’t even acknowledge it happened. Shows how reliable there inside knowledge is if they didn’t even know a 3 year extension was imminent
  7. Hope it’s not that case but if dees continue the downward trend over the next few seasons will it still look wise to have a then 33 yo still on the list for a further 2 years when we should be getting games in kids, what’s wrong with taking things one year at a time for a player of his age
  8. Love Viney but is this the right move, he would be 35 by the end of that contact, not many make it that long let alone smallish inside mids.
  9. After all the negative stuff this last month a win like this gives you hope for the future no matter what happens now
  10. Have we been carrying Oliver all year, we look to have so much more run without him out there
  11. Wonder if it’s at all linked to Dan Houston coming out way
  12. Winter Saturday night games are the worst, with the season effectively done it’s silly to think many will turn up when there is so many other options that are more enjoyable. I’d love if dees were a club where fans turned up rain hail or shine but like we have seen even tigers and a 100k members they have had some horrible crowds to so what chance do we have. We have more options than ever for entertainment and there needs to be a compelling product if you want the fans to come.
  13. If that happens I’m sure a future first would be sufficient if that was the consensus value, I think most in the industry don’t think dees will be contenders next year so in there mind we will be round that mark or worse
  14. Jackson is the next Nic Nat, take that however you like. The media love him and he will get on the highlights and all Australians but how valuable is he in a W-L sense, I’d say negligible. As to the dees I think we will be better off with the players we got from the trade and the cap space he otherwise would have demanded to stay.
  15. You think we are certain to get the next Bontempelli do you, as it’s more they are a bust. The point is no matter who they are they aren’t going to be a better player than Houston in the time frame this team has left in a flag window. So if the goal is to win flags then Houston is going to give us the best chance.
  16. By the end of this season he’s going to be a 2x aa, he’s going to be a massive in if we get him. The only downside is it will certainly cost us our first pick in its entirety so we will potentially be giving up a future gun for the now. I guess it all comes back to if you think we still have a shot at the flag with our current group or if we need to be going back to the draft to reload and go again in a 3-4 years time by which point May, Gawn and Viney will all be gone. I certainly think unless we bring in more quality players we won’t be a contender next year
  17. Goodwin is a frustrated coach but this year has been defined by injuries.
  18. Most disappointing we didn’t learn from the last time and got done the same way. Given where the team is at a loss however isn’t unexpected so I can’t be to shocked. I think we need to just take this year for what it is and hope to bounce back next season
  19. 12 months ago everyone would be over the moon at this, we successfully played him into a slump and got him to take a pay cut, now time to put him back and look like a star again
  20. Least it can’t get worse
  21. So who would Cumming or Huston push out of the team both are mid size defenders or would they play another roll. I wouldn’t have thought this is an area of the ground we are lacking talent in. I know you can only get what’s available but I feel like we still need to be focusing on the talls in key backs, forwards and ruck, May Tmac and Gawn all over 30 with no obvious replacements coming up and only 1 proven key fwd playing at AFL level in JVR
  22. We can’t be risking Gawn now if he isn’t 95%, I’d rather play without him this week if it means he is better for it for the remainder of the season. If it hypothetically costs us finals so be it, it’s about more than this year anyway and if one game is the difference we probably weren’t going to be a contender anyway.
  23. Massive rain predicted might work in our favour to go small again
  24. Really good effort with our back against the wall missing our 2 best players against nominally a top 4 side. That’s the kind of win that builds culture and one lead by the kids. If the goal is the be a contender for years to come this will be a game that we will be able to look back on. Hopefully we can build on this and make something of it this year to.
  25. Any idea why rivers is down as injured
