Deep Midfield Issues
I don’t think it’s intentional, he’s just not fit enough atm to get in the right position for the zone

Deep Midfield Issues
I guess the question is do we have any other options, from what I’ve seen there is no one putting any pressure on his position. Would you throw Salem or Rivers in there for the next 10 weeks and see how that goes? I think that would effectively be waving the white flag on this season but then again is limping into finals by doing nothing helpful either.

GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
3 of our worst games since Goodwin started have been this season, today, lions and wc, mix in a number of slow starts that point to issues. I’ve said all year we aren’t a contender we need to at least make something of the remaining season and learn who on the list will take us fwd, no point putting more games into petty, mcadam billings, hunter. Oliver also needs to be spelled and get his body right and if not traded out for what we can get

Key Forward Wanted.
Same was said about brown, I think he’s probably in better condition than he was. Who is a younger prospect that is gettable this off season and would come to dees, I don’t see any that would be notable. I don’t think the king bros are gettable nor is Larkey or McDonald not sure who else you have in mind

Key Forward Wanted.
Tom lynch would surely be available, he would be a nice upgrade to Ben Brown / Petty he would give us a few years while we are still in the frame

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
Difference with pies is they had a 2 game gap between them and 2nd and 3 between them and 3rd with 5 rounds remaining and with that the luxury of preparing for finals. At the present time dees are in a fight to hold a sport inside the 8. By no means is the season over but don’t I don’t think the example is comparable. I could be proven wrong but dees this year unlike the last 3 seem clearly to have fallen back to the pack but some what lucky for us outside swans everyone else has had more than a few stumbles

The problem is if our main liners don’t have a good game it rare to see the next players down step up, although I don’t know that is unique to us. But when’s the last time Sparrow ANB, rivers, Salem and the like stepped up when players like Trac and Oliver or May are Struggling. They play there role and might have a good game when when everyone else is but I dont recall when they have had a statement game when the chips were down

Feels like maybe they have just hit a wall after 3 years at the very top, Oliver clearly down for obvious reasons, trac looks like he has got to big and lost some agility, viney just getting older and has begun the slow decline. Sparrow hasn’t really taken the next step and I don’t think anb is really a legitimate answer but tries his best and is fine to fill rotations on occasion

I don’t want to sound overly dramatic because we lost tonight but do you think the window might be closed or quickly closing on this specific iteration of our team. It feels like our current ladder position 7th is probably a accurate reflection of where we sit and I can’t see that significantly changing this season. Do dees need to go hard at the trade table end of season and move on some premiership players in order to get capital to go bring in some new high end talent. Similar to what we did with Hogan leaving and May coming in at the end of 2018.
