People saying that getting rid of them will free up money are wrong. The Players don’t just walk away from contracts and not get paid. They have a year left and I dare say both will see out their contracts, unless an agreement is reached and the funds will still be included in the TPP.

We definitely don’t because there is no point trading for players who are on par with those 2. Petty, JVR, Fritta and the kids developing underneath will suffice unless we can get a big scalp. Getting players who don’t play regularly in bottom 4 teams is only adding dead wood to our list

Not everyone can play. Goodwin has given more opportunities than many. He is a good fringe player at Melb with the depth we have and he is never going to be a top liner. To say he was treated poorly is not correct at all

So TMac and brown are done but you want Darling? Darling is 31 and more done than the other 2. Silvagni is a hack and Chol is to inconsistent. McLean and Amartey have only recently re-signed. Unless we can get an A grade forward then we stick with developing the ones we have and maybe draft another. B and C graders won’t help.

I don’t necessarily agree with this, we have a top end team and have the luxury of letting kids develop in the 2’s rather than throwing them to the wolves. We have all seen how playing kids to early, can hinder their development. I’m also thinking that our picks can potentially be used on a ready made player and not kids but time will tell

From what I heard about the scratch match last week, Grundy was disinterested. If he had checked out then there is no way they could play him
