  1. Absolutely, I can't think of a more open, transparent or values driven organization that leads by example. The role model sporting organization for the sporting world. Even WADA is now taking note and may even revise protocols to deal with other organizations like the AFL Gil and his staffers have contributed in such a way that they will never be forgotten. However, their career path may have plateaued! They may have future careers in the values driven world of sports media.
  2. Totally agree Akum, Also anyone who bothers to attend training and then report to the rest of us deserves thanks. Pretty selfless stuff.. Sure let their be questions but not criticisms. So far the training reports have been great and provide interesting observations devoid of ego. Well done guys and thanks.
  3. Demonland at it's best or worst depending on your point of view.
  4. my wish is that: he stays injury free he is allowed to develop and contribute to team performance, but not be relied upon each week that he commits to the club long-term
  5. You are entitled to your opinion Ted but that is not my experience.
  6. Not their role BB, in fact many GPs are not members of RACGP. It is AHPRAs role however. In most cases AHPRA will only investigate after a complaint by another member of the medical profession or an aggrieved patient who in this case could be an aggrieved footballer or ex footballer.
  7. BBub, I take my hat off to you for your tenacity, persistence and consistency in prosecuting your argument. I ran out of puff a long time ago but you are one to have in the trenches. I have not agreed with all your comments, but your position remains steadfast and for that you have my admiration.
  8. My only interest is to see as many stirring wins from my beloved old side and watch their rise up the ladder. I want to see them play tough hard contested football and gain the respect of the Demon tribe and the football world. I want to feel hope and feel passion. God almighty I want to embrace this old footy club and be proud of its exploits on the field. I want to see our old club become a force and regain its standing as one of the great clubs. I want to replace my feelings of loss and depression each weekend with hope and joy. I want new weekend Heroes and not dwell in the past. I want to be able to celebrate most weekends with my favourite glass of Ricard and not drink myself into oblivion with the sadness of defeat. I want to walk to the MCG with a quickness of step and a feeling of anticipation of watching our boys demolish the opposition. I want to live with the excitement and passion of the contest. I want to feel the adrenaline rush through my veins after another famous victory. I want to see a premiership before I die. I want my children to see a premiership before they die. To say, our boys did it !
  9. No-one commenting on this and making assertions as to what happened and drawing conclusions .....was actually there. What do we know? There was an altercation between a football star with past misbehaviours who was under the influence of something and a media flunky ....and we have a story which will run for days and draw opinion pieces from the football media. God almighty we have wars, innocent civilians being blown apart by terrorists, famine across the world, a flood of dispossed refugees fleeing war, widespread violence and racism on a massive scale, the world as we know it threatened by climate change and the extinction of species every day. Go out on the streets of Melbourne and talk to the homeless, dispossed, jobless, and indeed poverty stricken folks who have nothing. And over the next few days the media will be obsessed by the misbehaviour of a footballer.
  10. Not condoning his alleged behaviour but I see that the court of public opinion had made up it's mind. The guy obviously has some issues but there are some pretty second rate comments on this thread. Let's see what comes from the Tigers investigation and any action taken by the club.
  11. not sure about meerkats daisy, they are carnivores which may upset the vegetarians and vegans on this site and they are known to kill their young. Although if we develop a team with the killer instinct, perhaps meerkats would be appropriate.
  12. I prefer the current banner to an array of heads and avoid the arguments as to who should be on it. The emblem/logo/club colours emphasize the club/the team over the individual. Keep it simple.
  13. Earl you are a man after my own heart. An adventurer who will experience Cuba to the full. You sound like a wise worldly man but be careful. I found in Cuba that your friends could also become your enemies. I woke up many mornings after a big night grateful to be alive, relieved that my throat had not been slashed. The mention of mountains and installations has me worried though. Be careful Earl, be very careful. Please keep us posted.
  14. I really appreciate all the work you do to bring this to the mob. Great effort and keep up the good work.
  15. Clint not Radio National or ABC Classic FM?
  16. Thanks for this Bay, seems a realistic opinion. I have been wondering about Kennedy given Collingwoods willingness to trade him. Buckley and Eddie never play Santa Claus.
  17. I am with you in spirit Earl. However when you have been lying around for as long as have its hard to become energised. It's all changed so much that I am sure I would not recognise my old haunts. My old flames are also the worse for wear. it's depressing to think that Cuba is now being viewed as a market by the imperial powers and its old foe is now seeking to exploit it shamelessly. I would love to go back to my old Cuba but alas it has gone. Never go back is my motto. The memories are all that matter.
  18. You interest me Biffen. You could be a character in my new short story that I would write if I was alive.
  19. Sorry Freudian slip Biff ... Should read high jacked not jacked.
  20. I would never have thought Biffen that we had similar tastes, perhaps just showing that you a multi faceted man. Anyway you have jacked and made frivolous the main point that women are not only our equals but indeed superior in most things. I mean to say how many women would be on this site reading and posting . They have far better things to do. Yet if we had more women on this site it would improve the tone, the intellect and general standard. Indeed it could become a dating site extraordinaire. Even Old Dee might get excited.
  21. We should fully support women's sport including Aussie Rules. At Olympic Games and World Champs women's sport is fantastic. Over 60 years we have seen Australian women outperform Australian men . Swimmers, athletes, hockey players , basketball. Women's sport has only been held back by the power elites of men across all sport and male dominated media. For Christ sake women make up half the population. They deserve equal coverage. It's a sleeping giant but when people wake up there will be no stopping women's sport. The interesting thing is that at Olympic level they are regarded as equals despite the lower funding and support structure . I recognise my own bias as I love women in every way. i see them as superior in every way. I would love a world ruled by women. Angela Merkel is my pin up girl.
  22. Agree BB wanted Parish but also see the desirability of a big tough hard at it body who will take no prisoners. So happy enough with Oliver.Parish may well be a star but clearly Taylor and company gave this a lot of thought knowing they are developing a group of players with skills but with tough uncompromising attitudes. We have worn the soft label for far to long. We need a group of competitive beasts who will change the culture of the club and have the respect of other clubs for the way they play. And the respect and pride of their own supporters. Play like Demons!
  23. Trust this is irony Redleg, otherwise I would feel very sorry for you.
  24. Hope your right City. Eddie runs with the hare and hunts with the hounds. If he turns out to be a dud or injury prone, Eddie will be smug and say I told you so. Now if the opposite is true, Eddie will be totally [censored] off and will be trying like hell to attract him to Pie land down the track. But we all hope that one day, Weideman plays a blinder against the Pies. Goal after the siren would be just perfect. A grim angry Eddie would be worth seeing.
