  1. I guess those who are citing the off season surgeries as the main reason for being being 0-2 are making the assumption that if we opted (assuming it was even optional) against surgeries we would be 2-0. I'm not convinced that would be the case. We need to make the judgement come July-August....if we're still watching that is
  2. It's straight up delusional to think that Petracca is getting dropped. Not saying that I agree with him getting a game at the moment, but it's just the reality of where we're at
  3. I know he had some soft tissue issues late last year, but I was surprised that he didn't play JLT
  4. That old chestnut. Didn't see the game but listened to the whole thing in the car. Sounded like he got a fair bit of the footy. I guess it all came down what he did with it once he got it...
  5. I've been in a pretty foul mood all week after the performance that we put in for three quarters last Saturday. More than anything else, I'm just desperate to see another four quarters of exposed form, get a better read on where we're at and reset my expectations for the year accordingly. How does that cliche go? There's two perils in assessing early season form: one is to read too much into it, and the other is to read nothing! And right now I just don't know what to think! Please just give us something - COME ON DEES!
  6. Catch the Warrnambool service back to the big smoke they sometimes have a bar service on there...
  7. One good final does not a key forward maketh
  8. Oh gawwwd please don't, Diamond. Not to mention that it's 2019 and we still don't have a freakin permanent, dedicated home base!!
  9. Salem Remainder carry over to next week
  10. PAFC - came to play PAFC - wanted it more PAFC - put in work MFC - short preseason shows MFC - soft underbelly exposed
  11. Jay Clark just went with this being confirm on MMM
  12. He couldn't give a rats toss bag?
  13. Harmes then May?
  14. 'Drive to Survive', the newly release F1 doco series on Netflix sheds a lot of light on Ricciardo's move and the broader tension between RB and Renault - well worth a watch. Cannot recommend it highly enough!
  15. I wouldn't be getting my hopes up for any big names getting much game time, let alone included. I'd be more curious to see how both sides have adapted to the new rule changes - 6-6-6, prior opportunity in the ruck, kicking in from a behind and also no team runners! I had a day off work all planned out - then the boss booked a mandatory 9am meeting on Friday....
  16. Throw in Goody and Chaplin to the extras group as well - having just gone for a lap around the tan post-session
  17. I was talking to someone over Christmas who would know, they seemed to indicate there was a calf issue, but then again they didn't even know for certain... I agree completely with everything already said around that we're not exactly entitled to know everything that's going on - but it definitely speaks to the manner in which MFC communicates these things
  18. From Gawn fest to yawn fest
  19. We all do mate. This is one of the last, and most critical, pieces in the puzzle to becoming an elite high-performing operation. I look at what Cricket Victoria have done with Junction Oval - and I know that there's always politics and timing that get in the way of these things - but wow, what a missed opportunity that was! Even the bloody Saints are now getting their act together back in Moorabbin!
  20. Saw this widely reported as well - which as a general rule, when it comes to fixturing, means it's fairly probable ...but this would also be great! Would like to see this become a regular fixture too. I think we can expect maybe one Thursday night and I would hope Travis Auld took note of our August and particularly September crowds in rewarding us with some prime time slots. And on a side note, please no more Carlton Friday nights FFS!
  21. The impression I got from GB's B&F speech was that they were close to securing an alternative site, not in Yarra Park. This isn't based on anything just what I read between the lines in the speech
  22. I think Jesse's foot is a lot worse than has been speculated thus far. He was out of contract at the end of 2019 and would've needed to negotiate a new deal and/or entertain offers from rival clubs, potentially at a time where the full extent of his navicular injury has come to light. There is definitely an element of Jesse making hay while the sun is still up for him in the sense that he can satisfy all the other off field elements he was after, whilst absorbing a bit of a haircut to his $ and years. This is not THE reason but A reason for this trade for mine
  23. He just did a live cross for The Trade Table on Ch.9 - must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with his attitude towards the trade. Seems like he feels the need to prove himself all over again which is healthy. He's a massive wrap on Goody - sounds like a sit down with him is what convinced him to come to the MFC
  24. FMD Dodoro did a deal
  25. Their members for a start, potential future players and their respective managers, let alone players they already have on their list. Thanks also for re-iterating my thoughts in the end
