Round 3 Non MFC games
Nor I, SWYL. "The wasted talent from the past is another ship that has well and truly sailed, but this time last year rookie senior coach Dew and his football manager Jon Haines began to put a series of new platforms in place in the realisation they had not trained hard enough over the summer, specifically where running was concerned. May was stung during 2018 when the players' skinfolds were posted on a wall in the club rooms and his number hovered around 70. Under new high-performance boss Alex Rigby, who replaced Justin Cordy last year, hard running underlined the Gold Coast summer and not one player now sits above a measurement of 50." https://www.smh.com.au/sport/afl/gold-coast-s-steven-bradbury-helping-suns-start-again-20190405-p51b5r.html

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
I heard the Crunch Time interview with Goodwin on SEN this morning. Then flicked over the 3AW to hear what they were saying. I've tried to find it online, but doesn't look like it's been uploaded yet: Caro had some very interesting insights into the skin fold levels, training standards and general attitude of senior players at GC last year. Player's skin folds were published for all (internally) to see which drove a strong push to uplift the training standards, which was met with a lot of resistance and 'complaining' by senior on field leaders. Look - we all hear things around the traps, and this little bit of detail from Caro just further solidifies a lot of the things I and many of us have been hearing about May's approach and where he's at.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Don't know where else to put this, but I'm just so [censored] flat tonight! We're an absolute rabble. Fine - we can match it with the best when/if required...but...oh wait it's not 2018 anymore and we're [censored].

What to do with Petracca?
Also Isaac Smith is smugly talking about our I50 vs. goal ratio from the weekend. It's a subtle dig that I'm not sure Jones fully picked up on which probably annoys me the most

What to do with Petracca?
Anyone else watching Jones on the Oval Office? FYI guys "we need to temper our expectations" when it comes to Petracca.

Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
FFS I just saw that the boy Jones is coming up on The Oval Office on Ch.9. Last week it was Brayshaw on media street and now Jones. I shouldn't watch..........but I will.

King: Don't Panic About the Dees
I guess those who are citing the off season surgeries as the main reason for being being 0-2 are making the assumption that if we opted (assuming it was even optional) against surgeries we would be 2-0. I'm not convinced that would be the case. We need to make the judgement come July-August....if we're still watching that is

Changes v Essendon
It's straight up delusional to think that Petracca is getting dropped. Not saying that I agree with him getting a game at the moment, but it's just the reality of where we're at
-
Oskar Baker
I know he had some soft tissue issues late last year, but I was surprised that he didn't play JLT
-
Changes v Essendon
That old chestnut. Didn't see the game but listened to the whole thing in the car. Sounded like he got a fair bit of the footy. I guess it all came down what he did with it once he got it...

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs Geelong
I've been in a pretty foul mood all week after the performance that we put in for three quarters last Saturday. More than anything else, I'm just desperate to see another four quarters of exposed form, get a better read on where we're at and reset my expectations for the year accordingly. How does that cliche go? There's two perils in assessing early season form: one is to read too much into it, and the other is to read nothing! And right now I just don't know what to think! Please just give us something - COME ON DEES!
