The decision between going to football games and playing golf is getting easier by the year

I really dont like the afl at all. I love the mfc but I have no interest in anything outside of it. It’s a corrupt backwater league. No integrity, corporatised to within an inch of its life. Unaccountable executives have meant I haven’t enjoyed watching it in years.
  3. Depends how you practice though as well. Block practice vs variable or creative practice etc
  4. No one in the media spoke about our injuries after our semi final loss till the start of next season. Same things happening now. We had no forward line! We will be in the top 4 flag favourites pre season again. They will be talking about how it’s a small fix that will make us unstoppable. The media are short sighted and reactionary and driven by click bait nonsense. Being soft, fragile etc gets more clicks than they did a lot right and got some really bad luck with their forward line through out the year. Our game plan is sustainable. We have A grade talent. We are good to go

I don’t think any team would consider us soft after playing us. We are a pretty brutal contested football side

Tune in next year to find out
  7. A psychologist can’t fix fundamental technical flaws and or a persons physical make up. No matter how good someone feels about themselves, certain situations will bring flaws to the front. They can only help maximise what you have. Max gawn will never be a great kick. He can improve but it’s not possible to make him a great kick because he isn’t built to be. Also, because someone missed a kick under pressure doesn’t mean they didn’t tick all the psychological boxes too. Sometimes your flaws just decide to show up because we all operate within a range. Fritsch, melksham, too etc have a tighter range than Oliver, Gawn, petracca etc.
  8. Pressure. Anyone who has played competitive sport has had the feeling of falling back into old habits when the pressure is on. Correcting such habits can be a years long process. Sometimes we also just have our ceilings.

You want rivers out for smith? Rivers!
  10. Seems the easiest way to open the game up these days. We are terrible at it
  11. They’re also super clean. It was nice to watch a team play with such crispness. Especially the second quarter. It looked elite.
  12. That’s very dramatic
  13. They’re a highly skilled team

Strange things happen in sport. No one does what we did in one half of a grand final either

I just don’t see it as the failure you do. Losses compared to what? Winning the flag? Last year we were cooked all over the ground. This year we were cooked in one third of the ground. Not making excuses, I’d like to see us work some areas of our game out that have been a problem for some time. But we have the players we have and you can’t always get who you want in to the side. The fact we should have won both games hurts but is also really promising. With no forward line and very few ball users we should be in a prelim. Draft/trade well this year and we could find something that makes a difference. You could have judged many coaches too early. Top 4 three tears in a row is tough to do. Winning flags is very hard

I don’t think the epl is a good example for coaching. They are over the top reactive and they have an enormous pool to choose from.

He is a system based coach. You can’t reinvent the wheel on the go with sport. How do you prove someone would do a better job than goodwin with what he had at his disposal the last two finals series?

Lost at selection as in we had no forward line to select. The game looked a lot like a dominant team with no forward line

They definitely do drill it in. Under pressure you will always revert to bad habits. He hasn’t got past his bad habits yet. It can take a long time

I want the air out of the tyres long before that. First interstate grand final for a while between gws and bris. The afl will be gutted. And what an uninspiring spectacle it will be. The afl need to get what they deserve with the way they run things. I want as much of the country to tune out as possible

They will play these two games for years to come. It will be called how to gift teams a prelim. It sums the year up quite beautifully. Gotta be the smallest average losing margin for a team ever. tonight felt very familiar. Chip away for no return only to have one skill error result in a turn over goal for the game. Teams are left speechless after playing us. They thought they’d be reviewing a loss, but they are reviewing a win. petty and melksham may have been the difference this year. We looked a different team briefly when they were up and about. Injuries play a big part again. don’t know what to think. Plenty still working. We might be the worst skilled really good team ever.

Just need to break even for the first five minutes

Right now is when we run over them. They are cooked. We just need a little composure

Two points down is a good place to be. We can run over them. Just can’t afford any silly goals to them. Winning contested possession. More scoring shots. Just need to out run them this half.

When have they ever paid 50 for that
