Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
Those 2 goals he missed you expect him to kick. I don't know who he was trying to evade on the first attempt. It wasn't just his disposal in this game, his decision making seemed off also. Parfitt has stitched him up a couple of times before so it was nice for Salem to blanket him tonight.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Shocking, people are actually able to discuss football matters on a football forum.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Interesting that 4 of the top 6 speeds were in games involving Melbourne, and 2 of the top 3 came from likely opponents in the same game.

Bernie Vince Retires
It was 6 players that have won a B&F at two VFL/AFL clubs apparently and played 100 games at each club. He has been great for us and I agree that the time is right to finish up. Played some absolutely amazing games but unfortunately you could see that despite giving it his all, his body isn't what it used to be.

Petracca in a rut?
I noticed that on TV, but it seems he lags behind too often when players are leading, then ends up having to chase extremely hard, when it would be easier to just commit to manning up originally (I've noticed this over a few games). I think I'm on a similar page to Chook's most recent post. He can be very frustrating and could of had an amazing game today. He was still a good contributor today and I'm hoping it will all come together in the finals.

The Jack Watts in 2018 Thread
Poor form to talk about the size of a players heart, whilst it has proved to be the right call to get rid of him there is little need to include the first sentence. You could easily make your point without including this sentence. And regardless, it would be quite heartless to kill your 'Grandmother' to get the footy.

Was the win against West Coast rigged?
I haven't watched the replay but I remember an instance in the first quarter 15 meters out from our goal at a boundary throw in and it appeared Tom McDonald was blocked by a 3rd man, but no call from the umpire. No replay from the broadcasters so unsure if there was anything in it. Anyone who has watched the replay that can comment or let me know at what time it occurred?

Lynden Dunn
100% agreed. I saw footage of it again a few weeks ago and it's hard to have a soft spot for anyone who acts like that, especially when the game had little relevance to them.

Go the Saints!

Andrew Gaff
I could be wrong, but I recall from years ago, that he had some kind of connection to one of the doctors at Essendon.

Champion Data Must be High
Clearly beating Geelong one time would have made a bigger difference.

Andrew Gaff
As someone mentioned, It was reported by Mark Robinson on AFL 360 last night. However, as another poster also mentioned, it is their belief that Mark Robinson mentioned Angus when meaning to refer to Andrew. That was also my take watching the AFL 360 last night.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 20
I'll leave the first one as it's something that we would never know, but you would hope so. However, it is connected to my view that the GC team that took the field today is the worst team in the history of the AFL. They are a poor team at full strength and were missing the following players today: Lynch, May, Swallow, Martin, Thompson, Wright, Day, Hall, Ainsworth and Rosa. This list includes their top 5 key position options. Considering I've seen Melbourne in 2013, Fitzroy and PA, Freo, GC and GWS entering the competition I think I am fairly well placed to make that call and I would challenge anyone to name a worse team. There is a reason they were paying $15 prior to the game. I agree Frisch is generally a good kick and I love the ball in his hand but his kicking was shocking today. Oliver's kicking was also quite poor today after the gem to JKH in the first quarter.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 20
IMO that was the worst side to set foot on the field in the history of the AFL. We were average and would have struggled against 15 other teams today. The backline continues to be a major concern. Oscar McDonald and Bernie Vince will be exposed against a better team if they don't lift. The most unsatisfying 96 point win I will probably ever experience but glad it's over and our percentage is looking good. Fritsch's kicking has turned into a Melbourne players' now and his skills were poor apart from his great pass to Braysahw in the centre.

Melksham Injures Hamstring
I think the fact that JKH is back in the team shows that nobody is getting a line put through their name. If there ever was a player I didn't think was coming back, it was him.

Salem ready to make his mark
Disagree, thought while he did OK in the midfield, he didn't do enough to justify getting time in there and taking it away from some other players that give us more.
-
Andrew Gaff
What skill would that be? He is very vanilla.
-
Andrew Gaff
Basically the same player as Tyson. Just has worse skills but a better tackler.
-
Andrew Gaff
Keep digging, the same Shuey that missed 5 games? That really impacted Gaff didn't it? At least chose Naitinui if you want to show you have any knowledge of football.

The Need for Outside Midfielders
Again, I have no idea what DeGoey has to do with a thread about outside mids. He is not one. I'm not disputing he is a good player, I have preferred him to Brayshaw since their first seasons and rate him highly. You clearly haven't seen Gaff play in finals or this season in particular if these are your thoughts.

The Need for Outside Midfielders
Completely different players. De Goey is an inside mid, is not a free agent and we don't have anything to trade for him so it's not happening. We should have been in the market for Devon Smith last year.
