Is anyone worried about our easy draw? Adelaide will be a different proposition. Great win by the girls but gee have we had some easy games recently.

I'm sorry that I got suspended. It was meant to be a joke I'll choose my words more carefully next time. Like the team. Gay is a huge in. Don't give up on top spot yet a 100 point margin could be on the cards if they play to there best. West Coast aren't much chop.
-
Hobbs and Grainger-Barass stiff to miss out also due to playing in very poor teams.
-
Yeah I'll have a look at it. Most are pretty spot on but I find it difficult to believe that Weideman couldn't get a game for basket case Essendon.

Your club's best 22 in 2023: Who's in, who's out, who's new (afl.com.au) Not the team I'd have. I'd definitely have Bowey in the side ahead of Rivers but the rest is pretty close. It's hard to see the Dees' line-up changing too dramatically but expect a few new faces in 2023. Melbourne brought in three seasoned players but it's unlikely all three will fit into its best 22. The injection of Brodie Grundy will fill the obvious second ruck void that Luke Jackson's departure left while also allowing Max Gawn to sit forward, or even be used as a marking option behind the ball. Lachie Hunter adds midfield depth but may struggle to break into the star-studded engine room, while Tom McDonald will return from the Lisfranc foot injury that sidelined him for the second half of the season. Although hampered by injury, Ben Brown was a long way off his best and will need to rediscover his mojo to keep his spot. Jacob Van Rooyen is knocking down the door after a sensational season in the VFL and would be expected to earn his spot as early as round one, while Bailey Laurie is another promising youngster waiting in the wings. Although his versatility allows him to play at either end, Josh Schache is unlikely to break into the 22 unless there's injuries, while Jake Melksham, Adam Tomlinson and James Jordon could also be unlucky as the team moves forward. – Alison O'Connor B: Michael Hibberd, Steven May, Harrison Petty HB: James Harmes, Jake Lever, Christian Salem C: Angus Brayshaw, Clayton Oliver, Ed Langdon HF: Kysaiah Pickett, Tom McDonald, Alex Neal-Bullen F: Bayley Fritsch, Ben Brown, Max Gawn Foll: Brodie Grundy, Christian Petracca, Jack Viney I/C: Jacob Van Rooyen, Lachie Hunter, Trent Rivers, Tom Sparrow Emerg: Jake Bowey, Charlie Spargo, Josh Schache, Bailey Laurie

Welcome to Demonland Kyah Farris-White
WERRIDEE replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I suppose this means Emille-Brennan won't be picked up by us. -
I'm predicting a 10 goal belting. Essendon just got over easy beats Sydney by 4 points while Melbourne just smashed Gold Coast by 49 points. Possible team B: Birch, Gillard HB: Goldrick, Lampard, Heath C: Mithen, Purcell, Paxman HF: Hore, Zanker, Bannan F: D.Pearce, Harris FOLL: L.Pearce, Hanks, West IC: Sherriff, Fitzsimon, Mackin, Wilson, Brown I'm dropping Duffy needs to drop some weight. Doesn't look fit enough.

Gawn has to play up forward as well it will be too top heavy. If they want to play Petty up forward they have to forget about T.Mac playing which I don't think they will.
-
The side a little bit weaker with L.Pearce, Goldrick and Sherriff out but they still should get it done comfortably against the Suns.

Saints Sack Ratten & Appoint Lyon as Coach
WERRIDEE replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's got me stuffed why teams pick up tried coaches? Ratten done nothing at the Blues gets a gig. Why? The inevitable happens and he gets the sack. Some teams are just clueless. Watch Carlton go down the [censored] shoot with Voss in charge. Brad.Scott was just an embarrassment. FAILED COACHES DONT WORK -
I don't think we are too top heavy up forward as Fritsch can play medium small. Gawn, JVR, T.Mac as the talls. Pickett, Fritsch, Neal-Bullen and Chandler play as medium to smalls. Just like the backline. Lever, May and Petty play tall. Bowey, Brayshaw, Salem and J.Smith play medium to small.
-
I wonder if Southport will try and pick him up? Sad to see Oskar go but the opportunities weren't there unfortunately for Baker. Good luck

Well trade week is done and dusted and I think we done pretty well with Hunter and Grundy for bargain picks. We have pick 13 and 37 which is as good a deal as your gonna get for the Weid. We also have plenty of picks for next year. I can see us winning the next 3 Premierships with this list. Seniors B: Lever, May, Bowey HB: Brayshaw, Petty, Salem C: Langdon, Petracca, Hunter HF: Pickett, van Rooyen, Neal-Bullen F: Fritsch, McDonald, Gawn FOLL: Grundy, Oliver, Viney IC: Harmes, Sparrow, Chandler, J.Smith SUB: Spargo Casey B: D.Smith, Turner, Hibberd HB: McVee, Tomlinson, Rivers C: Howes, Dunstan, Woewodin HF: Melksham, Pick 13, Laurie F: Moniz-Wakefield, Brown, Spargo FOLL: Schache, Jordon, Pick 37 IC: Rookie A, Rookie A, Rookie A, Emile-Brennan Rookie B I expect Baker to be delisted now we have picked up Hunter.

Melbourne should continue on their fine form with what should be a comfortable win against the Suns which is on Saturday 15th of October 7:40 pm. Gold Coast's form hasn't been too bad with 3 wins in the last 4 games winning their last game by 34 points against bottom of the ladder Sydney. While Melbourne has been in red hot form just belting the Bulldogs by 64 points. I'm predicting the Dees to get up by 6 goals. Possible team B: Birch, Gillard HB: Goldrick, Lampard, Heath C: Mithen, Hanks, Paxman HF: Bannan, Zanker, Hore F: D.Pearce, Harris Foll: Caris, Purcell, West IC: Duffy, Chaplin, Fitzsimon, Mackin, Sherriff Not sure if Gay gets up for this one if she does she replaces Chaplin. L.Pearce has concussion so more likely Caris the raw ruckman will get her chance.

How exciting will it be to do a best 23 instead of a best 22. It's got the tent up.

Smith is a very iffy forward showed more down back thought he would play as the 7th back with the luxury of using him forward. Tomlinson won't get a game completely useless that's why no one wants him. Turner will get a game way before him very backward thinking by the football dept is thinking that way. van Rooyen has to be unleashed to good not to be unleashed.
-
West Coast are the problem they are a shambles. Gave the world for an ordinary player in Kelly but won't give pick 2 away for Jackson. Why do they want to divide pick 2 just to show how retarded they are? There is a player in Jackson that would automatically improve the side and they don't want him. Second worst run side in the comp behind Essendon.

Vote | Another Mark of the Year nomination for Harris (melbournefc.com.au)

This should be a tougher match against the Bulldogs 3:10 Sunday October 9 at Casey. The Bulldogs have just come off 2 losses after being undefeated in the first for weeks while Melbourne have lost 1 game for the year and that was to Brisbane. The Dees beat Fremantle by 30 points last week while the Bulldogs lost by a point to Geelong. I expect Sherriff to be back this week and that should be the only change. Possible team B: Birch, Gillard HB: Goldrick, Gay, Heath C: Mithen, Purcell, Paxman HF: Hore, Zanker, Bannan F: D.Pearce, Harris FOLL: L.Pearce, West, Hanks IC: Sherriff, Lampard, Mackin, Duffy, Fitzsimon

Why the hell would he go to Essendon they are a lost cause. Picked the worst coach infighting. North are a better destination club. I'm calling BS. With him out of the side our depth would be rubbish. Dunstan that's it. We need Harmes don't throw the baby out with the bathwater

Hunt's gone to West Coast and Bedford will soon be following him out the door to GWS. I'll do a rolling 44 after the trade period.
