  1. Looks like the Crows players are holding no grudges towards Bernie. https://instagram.com/p/1pT7pZoZ2a/?taken-by=texwalka13 Phil Walsh is a [censored].
  2. From what I saw (not much) Toumpas and Stretch looked pretty good. And Fitzy was taking a lot of marks down back. The commentators were getting the names wrong about 80% of the time which didn't make things easy. I think I saw Pederson with a good run down tackle in the last quarter (resulted in a Grimes point). He's the logical replacement for Frost.
  3. Jack Martin is pure silk! He was the pick ahead of Hogan in the 2012 mini draft. I would still prefer Hogan but you can see why the Suns drafted him where they did.
  4. ""That's not toughness, if you want toughness watch what David did today. "That's why I think our team won the game in the end because we had guys who were prepared to do that." Whatever mate, pretty sure you won because Melbourne didn't bring their kicking boots. Not to mention some dodgy hometown umpiring. He should be more gracious in victory.
  5. I thought a similar thing during our game. How can they have Mark Ricciuto calling the game when he has a clear conflict of interest. What's worse is that the other commentators took on an Adelaide-centric approach to calling the game due to his presence in the box. GWS aren't doing too badly against Sydney. I'm feeling a bit better about last week's disaster.
  6. 6-day turnaround. After a hard slog in the wet. And after 2 straight interstate trips. Will this be a factor? Frost out. Pederson in if needed. Fresh legs, in order of preference: Michie, Toumpas, Grimes In the gun: Dawes Watts had an absolute shocker today but should stay. He was good against the Suns and normally plays his best against Richmond.
  7. 6 - Tommy Mac 5 - Garland 4 - Jetta 3 - Lumumba 2 - Vince 1 - Jones
  8. Pretty good effort really. If - Watts doesn't drop those two sitters - Garlett and Hogan convert easy chances - Betts' 'goal' is properly reviewed Then things could have been very different. Brayshaw looks very, very good.
  9. Our defence was awesome that quarter. Some mistakes sure, but to keep them to 2 goals with all that dominance. Hats off to you Garland, McDonald, Howe, Harry and Dunn.
  10. vanderBerg has brought his own footy.
  11. I'd personally prefer Pedersen to Dawes at the moment. Better hands, better kick, more versatile. He has VFL form behind him too.
  12. Dawes is lucky to be there IMO. I know it was his first game of the year but he completely stunk it up. Toumpas was dropped for less.
  13. We still have the smallest injury list in the league. Disappointed for Viney but some of the reactions on here are way over the top. It's also a good chance for Brayshaw to step up in his absence.
  14. Tyson was 2nd in our B&F last year at 21 years of age. Salem was one of our best in the pre season and on the weekend at 20 years of age. How on earth would we have landed Bontempelli and Merrett instead? We were never taking Bont at 2. It's easy to be a hindsight hero.
  15. I wonder when (iif ever) the day will come where our club can travel to places like Kardinia Park and not only win, but win easily like Freo did. Freo are a well-oiled machine and will be thereabouts in September again. Geelong, it annoys me how many of their players try to milk free kicks, and it's even better to see them crumble.
  16. Ahhh the last 7 days had been so joyful. It was never going to last forever, but to have it ripped apart so brutally and so quickly. Not fun. We don't even have the Matt Jones, Rohan Bail and Jordie McKenzie's to blame this on this time. That was our best 22 out there... N.Jones is allowed a bad game - but it was a really bad one. Vince, Tyson, Cross, Lumumba and pretty much everyone that was in there after half time let us down badly. I do like the look of Newton and Brayshaw already gets in the right spots. Dawes should and will go back to the VFL next week. Kent can be replaced by JKH. Roos did say we would lose a game this year and not to go down the 'here we go again' line of thinking, and I agree with that. But it's still a very hollow feeling.
  17. Don't know who has a more punchable head out of Toby Greene and McCarthy.
  18. Some will argue Trengove, others Petracca - but I think today's side is the best 22. I'm not expecting to win, the Giants seem to match-up well against us. But I'll be disappointed if we don't.
  19. Umpiring at Subiaco is notoriously lopsided in favour of the home sides. Carlton are playing against 21 men tonight.
  20. Too big a risk? How was it a risk at all? He was already on the list. Why would we choose to trade someone Roos had previously described as 'the best player on the list'? Makes no sense.
  21. So after 5 days and 25 pages of discussions, it looks as though the match committee went with the consensus decision with those two changes.
  22. We haven't beaten any of Hawthorn, Geelong, Kangaroos and Saints since 2006. Shameful, really.
  23. Pretty much the perfect weekend of footy. Demons win Bombers blowing a 41 point lead Cats flogged
  24. Hawks on today's form would have flogged anyone, but will be interesting to see what becomes of Geelong this season. Lots of geriatrics playing for them today. Oh, how much I would give to finish above them.
