  1. Gosh some people are pathetic. "if he gets drafted to bombers i am gonna cry" Clayton Oliver replies with: "Why?" "Cause essendon will actually draft someone gun cause your a jet" "Soz for the confusion, looking forward to having you on my supercoach" Yeah, right.
  2. I have a feeling it will be Oliver at 3. The club is staying quiet but the media always find out eventually and Quayle (hugely respected) and Anderson (meh) have both started taking this angle. We know he's one of the six in contention and there are strong rumours of Essendon wanting him too. Take last year for instance, St.Kilda were extremely coy about McCartin/Petracca but the media still caught wind of it in the days leading up to the draft. Oliver seems like the kind of player that competes, breaks tackles and gets his hands free in contested situations. I wouldn't be against him at 3 but I'm still hopeful we go for Parish.
  3. Watts has bulked up significantly from the 2008/09 days.
  4. He has factored in the academy selections. #10 on his list is actually Gold Coast's #6. The article mentions as being keen on Weideman but surely Francis would appeal at #7! 1. Jacob Weitering (Carlton) 195cm key defender 2. Josh Schache (Brisbane Lions) 199cm key forward 3. Callum Mills (Sydney) 188cm midfielder* 4. Jacob Hopper (GWS Giants) 186cm midfielder* 5. Darcy Parish (Melbourne) 181cm midfielder 6. Matthew Kennedy (GWS Giants) 187cm midfielder* 7. Wayne Milera (Essendon) 185cm half-forward 8. Charlie Curnow (Essendon) 191cm midfield/forward 9. Eric Hipwood (Brisbane Lions) 202cm swingman* 10. Clayton Oliver (Gold Coast) 187cm midfielder
  5. He looks cleaner than an 18-year-old Scully and harder than an 18-year-old Toumpas. Is there still room left on the bandwagon?
  6. With Jamar retiring, we need to fill a spot on the list (Senior or Rookie) with a big-bodied ruckman. Daw might be worth a look.
  7. There were two highlight videos released of Brayshaw last year. The first one was collated from the Championships and was fairly uninspiring. But the second one was collated from the TAC Cup and he was deadset crushing blokes in tackles and hitting forwards lace out in every clip.
  8. He hit a 40m lace out pass on his left boot against Brisbane in one of his early games so I don't think he's that bad a kick. Maybe just lacks consistency in that area. I expect him to play 15+ games next year.
  9. I'd like to see proof of that. Most media types and the pseudo experts on the internet had him as the consensus #2 pick for most of the year.
  10. I think Harmes will be upgraded and we'll use picks 3, 7, 46 and 50. So we'll have to cut one more... Michie is in trouble even though it should be Terlich making way.
  11. One of my earliest memories as a Melbourne fan was Shaun Smith's 1995 season. He was epic!
  12. A player doing coke in October is not really a big deal. Surely many players would be racking up discretely over the off season including some of our guys. I'd guess the number would be in the hundreds across the league. Only one of them was stupid enough to film a selfie of it. I would honestly consider it very close to the stupidest thing a footballer has ever done off the field, particularly when he was in the middle of changing employers.
  13. I guess technically he was contracted until October 31st. Good luck to Fitzy and well done to the club for speeding up the process in getting him to Hawthorn.
  14. Taylor and co have been watching him for two years and not one minute so I'll back their judgment. Taylor has barely put a foot wrong yet. I'll admit I'm skeptical of the skinny kids though. Francis sounds enticing.
  15. That's an excellent trade. Mahoney for PM.
  16. Let's trade out Hogan and Brayshaw too.
  17. That doesn't make any sense. We haven't improved the list yet you'd have preferred to see Howe go for nothing? One second rounder is better than no second rounder. The Saints are cactus when Riewoldt retires.
  18. I'd take Stringer over Wines.
  19. Truly bizarre what happened with him. It wasn't a left field selection at all, in fact most believed even at pick #4 we got one of the steals of the draft. He was meant to be pacy and a readymade jet. We pretty much never saw that at AFL level and he wasn't even showing himself to be too good for the VFL in his time here. Going back to his draft night I've never seen a kid as excited to be drafted by us. He won me over pretty quickly by that. His career didn't work out but I wish him all the best.
  20. You've changed your tune since the OP.
  21. The way I have painted it is Toumpas for Kennedy which seems fair. Both are living off their U/18 potential and done sweet bugger all in the AFL to date. Both lack composure. Which leaves Howe for pick 29 and 50, seems like a poor result. I think Howe is worth two picks in the 29-35 range. We better use 50 on Bugg and not 29...
  22. I don't mind that kind of behaviour but there's a time and a place for it. Melksham could have turned a 50/50 shot at goal into a certainty with that macho [censored]. Looks like he gets away with it in this instance.
  23. Surely Roos would stay on for another 2 years if that eventuated.
  24. This one isn't too bad. (2013) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dyc3AQm515I
