I remember Hawthorn fans stressing about Buddy leaving them back in 2013 and what went and happened? He did leave and they won another two flags without him (maybe more). I'm sure the fans miss him but his departure had no detriment to their overall success. I want Jessie to stay but we can experience future success whether he wants to be a part of it or not. For what it's worth has only kicked 10% of our goals this year., and we've kicked a shitload of them.

Love how he just keeps saying "Yep... Yep... Yep..." to Roosy's waffle when he's probably thinking "Just tell me I'm [censored] playing Paul."

I reckon Bugg's great. Jack Watts told a yarn on MMM of Karl Langdon losing his boot in the Collingwood game and Bugg throwing it into the distance. Loved him from that moment and he took it to another level against Richmond. He lacks skill and probably won't have a long career because of it, but the nuisance factor he brings to the side can't be underestimated. Not since Philthy Phil Read in 2004 have we had such a little runt running around for us, which actually co-incides with when we were last half decent as a footy team. As for Matthew Lloyd, he is not a fan of us and now we're winning games then he's clearly going to have dig deeper to find something to hang on us. He'll be complaining about Wagner's boots next week.
-
To be fair his disposal was atrocious in Round 1. If he starts consistently kicking lasers like he did on Sunday then he'll be one of the best midfielders in the game.
-
I think Matt Jones will come back in. I'm guessing the coaches rate him higher than most Demonlanders (including me) because he was named in the starting 18 every week from Rounds 1-4. He'll be over his general soreness and will slot straight, perhaps for Salem if the information above is accurate. Petracca will surely come in, probably at Brayshaw's expense. Regardless of his role, I don't think 10 touches and a goal is good enough for Gus to retain his spot. Oliver carved the Saints up in the practice game and a refreshed Oliver is best 22. I don't know who makes way for him though. I wasn't a big Frost fan at the start of the year but I think he offers a lot. Pace, strength, good hands in close, bobs up for the occasional goal (and many points). Harmes would be stiff, his kicking has been a real weapon in our two recent wins. I think the changes will be: In. Petracca, Matt Jones Out. Salem (injured), Brayshaw

I'm not too worried about Salem, he's tracking fine. 23 touches yesterday and 20 the week before. Yeah he shouldn't have slipped over but Lloyd's a good player and it was slippery under foot. Everyone makes mistakes, especially 20 year old kids playing their third season. As for his goal, I had that marked down before it even left his boot. Class act.

A 10 game winning streak, at least, to make up for one loss? I don't think so. The Essendon game was one we should have won but didn't. We can make up for it by winning a game we're not expected to. We very nearly did that against North, but we have plenty more opportunities before the year is out.
-
Third time in a row that we've kicked 100+ points. We only did it four times in 2015 and none in 2014. Not only are we winning games, but we're entertaining the fans whilst getting in sync with modern footy. Whatever they're paying Roos it isn't enough. Can't believe he's content with living in Hawaii after this season is out.

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Round 5
Bang Bang Bang replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6. Viney 5. Gawn 4. Tyson 3. Garlett 2. Vince 1. Kent -
Viney. Elite.

I reckon we've been pretty lucky with our ruckmen over the years, relative to other positions. Jeff White was awesome in his prime then Jamar came good for a while. Max is in unbelievable form though.

Deledio out, Townsend in

You're the poster who used to call Trengove slow at everything he does, including speaking, right?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 5, 2016

I doubt anyone knows if Garlett will play yet, it all depends on tomorrow's session. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 5, 2016

Mahoney implied that if Garlett doesn't get up for Sunday then Petracca will probably play. Win/Win! -
He had ankle surgery at the end of last year and missed about a month of footy, now two relapses already in 2016. That's got to be a concern for him. He's best 22 when fully fit, although that might have changed when he's ready to play again. Good to see Spencil close to returning. Obviously he doesn't get a game for us but if Gawn goes down we need someone in reserve. At the moment, we have nobody.

There's a reason Martin's been able to do it effectively for six years, he has a combination of size, strength, balance and perfect timing. It's pretty hard to argue with a don't argue when it's done properly. That's one of the reasons why I rate Viney's tackle as the best I've ever seen.
-
Harmes' wormburner to Hogan wasn't bad either.
-
Agreed, he nearly won the B&F last year from 16 games but only polled 3 Brownlow votes. The coaches love him and rightly so. He'll win the B&F in a canter at this rate.
-
Frost out?!? He was getting picked when he was getting 5 kicks a game, there's no way they'll drop him when he has 19, a goal and a couple of assists. I think it will be: In. Vince, Garlett Out. Oliver (rested), M. Jones Matt Jones hasn't done much wrong, so consider him unlucky.

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Round 4
Bang Bang Bang replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 - Watts: On target for 40 goals this year. Coming of age. 5 - Viney: it's literally like we have a pitbull running around with a Melbourne jumper on. 4 - Wagner: Was everywhere. 3 - Tyson: 24 touches 2 goal games were a feature of his 2014 season. Getting back to that level. Could improve his handball. 2 - N. Jones: He just sort of blends into the crowd with more support, but still a great player. 1 - Pedersen: 20 touches 2 goals. Classic 'role player' -
How much wizardry will Hogan have to do up the field for Leigh Matthew to wake up and realise he's not an 'old school full forward'?

By the way we've found a player in Wagner. A little bit one-sided but his work in the air and on the ground was super impressive. Garland would be worried.

Vince, Garlett and Petracca to come in next week. Get excited. Jack Viney is God.

COLLINGWOOD VFL v CASEY SCORPIONS
Bang Bang Bang replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I know there's no rush with Weideman but he couldn't be too far off a debut could he? He has been very consistent at this level, and I'd back him to have more impact than Frost.
